  • In part 2 of the quaich project, I shape the handles and embellish them with some carving. This is a great woodturning project if you have a small lathe or if you want to experiment with some wood carving without committing to a larger piece.

    Please note, my videos are for entertainment only. They are simply demonstrations and are NOT intended to be instructional. Proper training and experience are essential before attempting to use any woodworking equipment. Do not attempt projects or techniques that are beyond your skill level or your comfort level! Serious accidents can happen in an instant and bandaging wounds or sitting in an emergency room is much less fun than woodturning. You are always responsible for your own safety. The only rules are: 1) Be careful; 2) Have fun.

      Hi Paul... Yes, I do sell my work via Etsy, social media, and art shows. I'm usually pretty slow in getting things into my Etsy shop though, so if you see something you're interested in, just let me know!

    This looked like such a fun project that I made 2 of them. It uses such a small amount of wood. I do plan on carving one of them.

    very good. I like things that are different. Where did you buy the CNC bits, especially the one you made the first cut? Thanks for the video. Have fun and keep turning.

      All the bits I used are cheapies from Amazon, except one - one is a Kutzall, I believe. Thanks for watching!

    very nice. Was interested in the finish mix at the end. What poly did you use? Also do you apply this over pyrography and colors? What pen are you using to sign your work?

    • @ChadEamesWoodWorks
      @ChadEamesWoodWorks  2 года назад

      Thanks, Keith! I use Minwax poly (fast drying, clear gloss). The mix basically functions the same as danish oil. I rarely build it to a gloss, but it can be done with some extra coats if you like a high build finish. Yes, I would apply it over pyrography; however, I wouldn't put it over most color because it would change the color too much. Although, I think it would work fine as far as sealing the dye in. The pen is a Papermate Liquid Flair. It's the best I've found that doesn't smear when you put CA glue over it. Thanks for watching, subscribing, and for the questions!
