Of course 19 is the younger more energetic and fresh age and also at the youngster age you have mastered the current generation style but you also bring in the next generation style. someone who can still play at 40 and do these things is truly a genius
I just reviewed this match (I didn't see it live back in the day) and there is no doubt about one thing: Nadal may be the king on clay, but in his best version, form or level of play he is unbeatable on any surface. Here "Djoker" that's what I call him because of the silly things he does, he looks absolutely desperate. What I don't understand is why Rafa, if he can play at this level, hasn't achieved more success on hard court; You have to remember that he doesn't have any masters and he has lost 4 finals in the Australian open, 1 in the USA open. Remember that he has also lost on grass 3 Winbledon finals.
He does have those four U.S. Opens against one final loss, so not bad at all there, and his recent second AO title was an epic win, of course. Eight majors outside of clay still put Rafa way up there, equal to the major totals for Lendl, Connors and Agassi, and above McEnroe and Becker, so he's in good company regarding all-surface greatness.
@@slc2466 hello good day! I have been following Nadal's career since 2005. I dare to assure that the most important victory was his last AO to obtain the "big double SLAM in career" (at least 2 slams in AO RG WIN and US.) Prove to be the best in all surfaces. He wanted to be the first to achieve it and a match marked his career and it was in AO 2012, in an epic match Djokovic, he avoided that record. Nadal is a very special case in the history of tennis. I explain. Many analysts have come to insinuate that he does not have an exceptional talent, others that he is just a passerby, just physical, just Clay, who dopes. Here in Spain there are almost as many fans as detractors, when being Spanish, he has not said one word louder than another, has not broken a racket, has not insulted judges and players, etc.
@@julianjunior8165 I've also been a huge Rafa fan since 2005. I agree regarding the 2022 AO title is probably #1 among his major wins. I remember following the 2008 Wimbledon final, and that was definitely a major step forward for Nadal and of course an all-time, maybe the all-time, classic match. However, given how long it took for him to gain his second AO win and career slam, and the remarkable comeback involved in the final, which serves as a blueprint for Rafa's "never say die" spirit, for me it was the most satisfying win to witness as a Nadal fan, and I'm sure Rafa is also still feeling very content finally reaching this milestone.

Like someone already said in the below comments, that last point, aah!
They both knew this was for the gold medal. Wow how things come full circle
Nah, it was to get the opportunity to fight for the gold medal
@@strikerbowls791 Yeah but winning this match was almost like winning the Gold Medal because the opponent in Final was weaker, eventhough a match isn't decided, but when it comes to beat the Big 3 in Final, no one can do anything against them.
@@ijump-bounce2283 Djokovic at this point was not at the level where he could guarentee a win against Gonzalez. He was a good player but could lose to anyone anywhere. It was only in 2011 when he got to that level.
@@kakashihatake1029 Big 4 was already in 2008
Roland garros 2013 and 2021 semi finals and 2018 wimbledon were also final before final
The guy that made this video put up more Novak highlights than Rafa highlights even though Rafa won the match. The announcers were also pro Novak in this match. The fans were pro Rafa.
Give me a break it's actually good, it always pro Fedal announcers and fans on tour especially GS. As a matter of fact Novak has highest fans in China among big 3.
beacuse novak had the balls to attack and hit flat. nadal was looping his shots mles over the net trying to force unforced errors
young Djokovic's forehand was so awesome-looking. power and style
No solo cuenta el pasado sino lo que hagas en la actualidad y ahora, Djokovic el más grande tenista de todos los tiempos
16 years later here we go again
Someone else after Paris 2024 ?? 😢
Rafa 21 GS and Gold = GOAT (Federer fan)
22*
Nole 22 GS

wow 22 gs thats amazing.@@Warfax891
Federer is the GOAT!!!
What a game, every point counts!
14:24 😮what a way to win a match ❤ I miss sleeveless Rafa 💪🔥
When these two are hitting the ball well against each other, there is pretty much nothing like it.
The last point simply is an example about Nadal Carrer's
Comparing the Olympics to the ATP finals is simply rediculous. Olympics is the most prestigious and significant athletic event of all. It has a history of thousands of years and a special meaning to every athlete. The only reason some athletes care more about the GS or ATP is the money prices. Get real.
Man, its 2 winning sets. It’s not even close to a Grand Slam. It’s nice to have, nothing more.
Nobody cares about olympics in tennis community
Such a shame this was the semifinal and not the final - Djokovic should have won at least a silver medal instead of walking away with bronze in 2008
Fitting that’s this is being recommended now
Yes i believe this is where Djokovic lost confidence with his smash. He had quite solid smash in his younger days. Weird.
His smash was never solid in his younger days😂 it's still not perfect but ots gotten better
@@gpet-dr2bs I follow Djokovic since 2006, i remember that his smash was ok until 2010, he was more daring with it. It was never an elite smash, but it was much better than it was later in his prime years, for some reason.
People say that this djokovic is a baby and be wasnt that good. This djokovic is better than any of the next gen.
The most painful overhead miss of Novak's life was that match point
21 old serb and 22 old spaniard looks very prommising,i have a feeling we gonna hear from these 2 younsgters in the future.
What a battle! Worth gold if it were a final but still a gem😲
agreed for the gold but also I think its unfair to take away the 2 bronzes and turn bronze to a deciding match..both SFs should just get bronze..the Two finalist are already assured of a medal each..I think so should the Semifinalists.
Nadal exploiting Djokovic's smash knowing fully well he is going to miss it. I have seen Nadal doing this against Djokovic a lot bringing him to net, then making him try hit overheads.
What a game!
What a match !
tomorrow theyll play again 16 years later
That last smash of Djokovic Nadal returned him by climbing into the seats of the front row of the stands it is impossible for him to return that from the court lol
Yes, can't even see Rafa on the screen- one of his greatest match point conversions ever.
Nadal is a beast here. His power & speed is incredible. 😱
Nadal is the GOAT!!

After 16 years , they are going to face each other in Paris Olympics 2024 . This time it could be their last time playing against each other . What a rivalry 🤝
Кто здесь после матча на ОИ 2024 ??
players are better when they are younger. Its still suprising to see posts like 'wow this player did this and he is only 19'. Of course 19 is the younger more energetic and fresh age and also at the youngster age you have mastered the current generation style but you also bring in the next generation style. someone who can still play at 40 and do these things is truly a genius
JUST GREAT TENNIS
Que increíble esas 2 últimas defensas de Nadal.
This should be the final
Thats why Nadal prime was better to what Novak can do in his whole career
clown. 2015 Djokovic would win thin 6-2 6-2
lol. even got 8 likes.

Golden Slam on hard court. GOAT anyone?
¡Grande Rafa! 😍😍😍👏👏👏
alguien despues de que gano oro en Paris 2024
federer 2005, nadal 2008 and djokovic 2011. best
Federer 2006, Nadal 2010 and Djokovic 2015.*
They were more hesitant to come in back then.
If you look at his HC peformance in 2005, you would think he would have been even better
Problem is his body started breaking down and he could never even defend a HC title untill 2019 montreal. Thats insane.
Put some respect on Djokovic's name at his best he defeated Rafa 6 times in a year. Rafa hasnt even taken a set against him. On HC since 2013.

Why does the court seem faster here?? What type of hard court is this
7:11 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Novak forehand
2008 Nadal is precise, violent, and acrobatic! No stopping him
2006-10 Nadal dominated,2011-16 Djokovic ruled ,2017 onwards 4- 3 Nadal leads...the rivalry is still on....
But nadal dominated in clay beat novak in 2012 and 2014 roland garos final
2015 and 16 nadal played like an average top 10 player just like Djokovic in 2017/18. Their rivalry peaked 2010-2014
lol why most matches on clay though?
Great match from Nadal!
best final match in olympic i think
This match is a true reflection of who's better.
The quality of this match is completely different from Sinner-Alcaraz match in RG 2024

With Nadal, it's always DO OR DIE. For the King of the Clay, any court surface doesn't matter 👏
I think this Djokovic version is better than the nowdays: more agressive, faster and better fitness. Would Struggling less against Alcaraz.
alcaraz is from another generation. dont even compare him with novak. and novak's forehand was monstrous in 2007 & 2008.

But what part of the draw or for what place was this?

Once again, Djokovic lost a huge match because of his sketchy overhead.
A screwed up overhead also cost him the 2013 French open as well.
