I still remember how I was like watching them perform this song. I was like, "how dare a never-heard group to challenge this masterpiece of Queen? Let me see how you ruin it..." and BAAAMMMMM!
Their Bohemian Rhapsody blew me away and made me a huge fan.
Forestella first sang their version of Bohemian Rhapsody in the KBS Immortal Songs which is a kind of remake competition music entertainment show. It made them known to the world, and later they put it in their 2nd album titled Mystique. They had concert tour under the title Mystique. This video was filmed at the Mystique encore concert, the last of the tour.
I prefer their Immortal Songs video because we can see their acting in the performance there. Here it's too dark to see it well.. I recommend Forestella Queen's best songs compilation video on KBS Jeonju channel. There are 2 more Queen renditions in addition to the very first performed Bohemian Rhapsody by Forestella.
the high voice is kang hyungho. he is forestella's rocker and countertenor. amazingly he comes by that voice naturally! he's the only one who never had any professional training before joining forestella. the bass is ko woorim and he is a trained opera singer.
only one of them is relatively fluent in english, or is at least comfortable enough to actually speak it. but since they are a classical crossover group it is de rigueur for them to sing in different languages. 2 of them are opera singers, so they have at least the basics of singing in romance languages. they are up to 8 languages so far, from the opera languages to african zulu.

Best quartet in the world! Versatile with genres and languages, vocal and performance styles. They have amazing layered harmonies and synchronization. The band/ orchestra support is excellent too!

Even Queen didn't sing the middle section live. They played a video and left stage. Brian then led them back on with his guitar solo. When Cho Mingyu sang "Mama just killed a man" he actually moved me more than Freddie's original version. 😳👍
Forestella is simply phenomenal . please react to them if you haven't yet. BTW I do agree with you that they don't all speak fluent English. however singing in English is different from speaking English though.

Yes, you are so right! THEY can sing anything!! and they do their thing, mainstream or not. Forestella is so diverse and with this unique constellation of extraordinary voices, ranges, scills and musical sensibility, they are well prepared for every genre. How about "Lazenca Save Us" - epic Korean ROCK. It will blow your mind!! Or their version of "Legends Never Die" (from "League of Legends") and their version of "Inner Universe" (original Ghost of the Shell) is a fusion, that is out of this world. I highly recommend these songs. (And the "copyright problem" is understandably annoying, but it's accepted - they often appear on shows - and the rights belong to the TV channels).

If you want to hear Kang Hyung Ho’s higher vocal range, you should definitely watch “Nella Fantasia” and “Hijo de la Luna”. You would be amazed and mind blown of his vocal ability.

I personally feel that Forestella conveys more of the emotion of the lyrics compared to the original, I love how they don’t get in a hurry with their songs, they tell the story, with the appropriate feeling. They do speak English. But they sing in a lot of other languages they don't speak -- you don't have to know a language to be able to understand the lyrics, that's what translations are for. They practice it enough times so they know exactly what each line means :)
