I love the Mikaelsons. Everyone has to realise that they are 'an anti hero family' or, to a greater extent, outright VILLAINS. The originals isn't a show about good people or a good family; it is show about a vicious and mighty family, who will do anything to protect one another, even kill children. Remember season 4, when Hayley asked Elijah: "If Vincent hadn't found another way, what would you have done to those kids?". Elijah would have killed children to free his brother of the hollow's grasp.
Please remember you're watching a bunch of murderers who have, over a thousand years of bodies, underneath their belts.

Finally. I thought I was the only one who found her character unlikeable, and frankly annoying.
This was such a powerful scene. Davina did not deserve this at all. The fact that Freya and Elijah could ignore her pleas for help just broke my heart. The way she died was the worst 😩😭
It's not like they wanted to do it , when freya came up with this idea they totally ignored it & looked for something else .. but there wasnt anything they could have done . At the end of the day they did what needed to be done to protect their family wouldn't you ?

The fact that Freya didn't even take a second to think about what she's doing when this little girl is pleading for her life, Vincent was right, she is just as much of a monster.

Freya was self serving and wanted to give an extension date to others who had plenty of life. If it had been Hayley or Cami they would have continued searching for alternatives.
I love the fact that Daniel called out the short sightedness of the writers in Cami's and Davina's death and Elijah's reaction to it. He himself said that it's unbelievable how unfazed Elijah was considering he spent so much time with Cami and was literally Davina's mentor.
Davina had just once again, literally a week before, made herself their enemy. Trying to break Elijah’s sire line and managing to break Klaus’. She knew the Strix would murder them both as soon as the lines were broken. She was literally told by the Strix to her face that was their plan and she didn’t care because they were in the way of what she wanted. This time she was in the way of what they wanted. How is that different? Plus he’d always choose Hayley over Davina, no hesitation, throw Klaus and Rebekah on top and it’s a no-brainer.
Not to mention, he’s dealt with traumatic loss many times and if anyone knows how to compartmentalize it’s Elijah Mikaelson.

My point is none of them have any reason to be loyal to Davina. Especially at the expense of their loved ones. No one betrayed Davina here because they weren’t on the same team. She was teamed up with their greatest enemies about a week before this all took place, they aren’t Davina’s friends or family. Of course they’d choose the people they loved over a girl they’re usually enemies with and occasionally forced to team up with.
I didn’t say Davina was necessarily wrong to be on the Strix side. The Mikaelsons are monsters and aside from Hope none of them deserved a happy ending. I’m saying it would make no sense for the characters Freya and Elijah to even contemplate putting Davina over Rebekah, Klaus and Hayley.

My main problem was that Marcel (and some fans) essentially blamed this on Klaus when he wasn't even there. He didn't even know this happened, Elijah had to tell him. Yes, Klaus defended Elijah, but that was like 20 seconds after finding out they did this to Davina.
He never blamed him for her death, he was pissed at Klaus defending the choice and allowing Elijah to kill him.

@@bnadalon9299 that wasn't the point of my comment. I was pointing out that in this scene right here, Freya and Elijah were responsible for sacrificing Davina despite Klaus telling them not to. When Marcel confronted Klaus and Elijah, Klaus had just found out about what they did.
Danielle was incredible in this scene, such a powerful performance and the music was perfect.
This episode showed that the originals didn't stop the prophecy, they fulfilled it. Davina's death caused Marcel to become the monster that the visions warned - as Rebekah fell by family, Marcel has become both the friend and foe aspects to bring the demise of Klaus and Elijah as he will now become the beast.
I'm excited to see how the final part of the prophecy is completed, as it's already been made clear that Klaus has been absent for three years and the fate of the others is unknown
And that's a reason to kill her that way? She at least deserved the gift of the word on this subject because it was her life! Freya did it to treason and I understand that he loves his brothers but he only managed to keep one away and have an enemy to Marcel,

You can add Finn killed by Lucian which can be foe too, but it was explicitly stated to be about Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah, since Kol and Finn were dead at the time of the prophecy stated

I love how when she screamed Marcel how he fought to get Elijah off of him..even tho he broke his neck it showed how much he loved her!! Every time I think about the finale I think about this scene.. Freya and Elijah deserved what they got.. They have lived for 1000 years but puts there lives ahead of a sweet innocent girl who only had like 16-18 years of life..

I started crying when she screamed Marcel. I really loved her character and when she died Kol, Vincent and Marcel were so sad and broken. It was an emotional moment.
Sad thing is if Kol was present this never would have happened, I have no doubt he would have snapped Freya's neck immediately.

Also think about it this way. Davina has betrayed all of them every season. She unlinked Klaus which is what started Lucien getting his power and Freya having to do what she did. So yeah that's probably why they wouldn't have done this to Hayley or Cami. They were family till the end. Not to mention Klaus told them to look for another way.
This season was amazing and the set up for next season was fantastic. I seriously don't understand why the ratings are so bad, the show got better and better overtime.

Davina is at least 19 here, she was 16 when the series began and Hope is at least 2 during this time period.
Davina was killed by her own kind as retribution for her own choices against her own people. She decided to team up with the Strix a few days before this, this probably wouldn’t have happened if she had stayed out of it like both Marcel and Kol asked her to.

Freya is definition of family before outsiders, Davina was bond to die, all season she was warned and she ignored the signs. This death was horrible but at the end of the day she was fighting a loosing battle. As of Freya , if my siblings were about to be killed I'd do the exact same. Family first. Davina collateral damage hands down

They already are smart one. It was her family or davina. She has been asleep for 900 years, she is just now getting to know her family. She saved Klaus, Rebekah, Elijah, Hayley, Hope, and Kol. Not to mention 2 whole sirelines. What she did was understanble. Your basically sayong she should have saved 1 over millions of people.
+Clarrisa Lange Okay first of all I'm sure if they got all the vampires and stricts together as well as freya and vincent they could have kept Lucien at bay long enough to stop him hurting Rebecka and even if Rebecka did die she has lived for thousands of years and hated being a vampire her life was not more important then Davinas a kid who was only 17 and died in a horrific way I mean they shredded her fucking soul and the betrayal she must of felt and the fear especially when she was begging Freya and screaming out to Marcel it was heart wrenching to watch.

This is why I love drama shows like the Originals, you get the feels for certain characters when you know they're going to die for good. I liked Davina, I think her ending was very dramatic and heartbreaking. I also love how we have discussions about the show here on RUclips, some who feel there must be alternatives to problems on the show and some who realize there is only one solution. Either way, I personally do not like the fact that Davina is gone, but I love how they wrote her death. Based on this prophecy and what i have seen thus season, I am beginning to think this could be the real end of the Originals themselves, but Julie the writer could surprise us with an alternative to that.
This is one of the main reason why I can't wait for marcel to take a revenge on the Mikealsons

What i love about this is the fact that arguably the most brutal death / betrayal and klaus didnt do it, it shows no matter what elijah and klaus are the same as each over.
Well folks...this scene is a lesson in great acting and a great script. When davina screams marcellll...when marcel tries to fight off elijah...freya's steely resolve , Davina's fear seeing the ancestors and her scream, the ancestors smirk...the back ground music and elijah 's perturbed look....pure perfection.
The fact that they didn't even let him say "I love you" back gets me everytime😭

this scene was the most powerful scene in the whole series, the music fits in so well with it. and davina's desperate cry was completely and utterly agonising. it was on point. and the way she called out for marcel out of instinct was just sad. and how marcel fought against Elijah and even pushed him off, even when he knew couldn't win. danielle played this scene very well. it gives me the chills everytime. I don't know how many times I have replayed this scene.
and I feel like marcels retaliation was justified. she was like a daughter to him, and I'm sure klaus or anyone else wud do the same if it was for hope. and the claims that davina deserved it, certainly is not true.
Davina had always been, for me, the best character in the show, she had been forced around by both the wtiches and the vampires and the mikaleson, but she stays strong as ever.
It's fucked up that in this show, if it was a Mikealson in davina's shoes, their wud be another chocie, their wud be a loop hole. But since it's someone distant their is no other choice. The same thing happened with Elijah in the fourth season when hollow tried to sacrifice elijah. And Sophie was basically shading Davina.
This is what I hate about the show.
I went on a hiatus after she died bc she was the best character in the show, and when they brought her back she was so forgiving it was basically unrealistic. Davina had always been hateful towards the mikealson bc they had always threatened her and her friends just to make a point. Even I wud hate that. And with what Klaus did to Tim (her fist love btw) and Josh I don't blame her bc she cared deeply for both of them.
I wanted her to come back vengeful after this scene, and when Vincent made her gatekeeper of the ancestral magic I really had my hopes up. She wud have made a better enemy than any other. Especially with marcel.
And now they are struggling to keep the rating high by forcing klaroline into this, I hope they do remind themselves that this show is about the mikealsons and New Orleans. It's about home. Not about some half assed ship called klaroline. Ig Julie is trying to get the viewers up by klaroline bc they really do have a lot of shippers. And half the people I know are watching fifth for that. This show was great and all but klaroline will definitely mess it up for sure.
I agree with you. Everyone says she was awful to the Mikaelsons and deserved it but I think she had the right to hate them since they manipulated and hurt the people she loved just to use her power. Marcel and kol and josh were the only ones who truly loved her. I love her and I’m glad she got a good ending in season 5.

Freya didn't kill Davina. The ancestors did. All Freya did was push her into the ancestral plane, and the reason why the ancestors wanted her gone was because of everything Davina had done to them. In season 1 she used the harvest magic to help Marcel control witchcraft, and those found using magic without permission were killed off. But the ancestors FORGAVE HER and even allowed her to ascend to regent. But of course that wasn't enough so Davina got Haley to kill those who were against her being in charge of the 9 covens. Again, more witches died because of Davina's own actions. If Davina hadn't pissed them off her soul would have still been with the ancestors and they could have brought her back - the Mikaelson's didn't condemn her, she did that herself.
Point is not whether davina did wrong by the witches. Mikaelsons didn't do this to punish davina or to give justice to those who wronged by davina. They don't care a little about these things. They did it purely for their own interests knowing full well how much ancestors hate her and more importantly what she means to marcel. They couldn't even wait a little longer to find another way. Kol and Vincent went to find a way, didn't they? and that's EVIL and SELFISH.

Junaid538 You realize when marcel took davina in season 1 the witches screwed her over and she was just a kid. she was upset with them and marcel was kind and of course she trusted him and did what he said. as regent that woman ATTACKED her she only wanted her dead but then hayley decided to kill them all...the point is, davina was just a kid and was so innocent and it was what was around her that influenced her to want change. i just feel compassion for her because i see myself in her. she looked up to the only person who cared about her and it got her screwed over in the end.

I love this scene so much because this is where many people who didn’t realize it finally get confirmation that the Mikaelson family is not a good or heroic family. They are a messed up family who would do the worst of the worst to protect their loved ones. And this is also where it shows that “Always and Forever” is not just a silly promise they made when they were kids. The promise and the love they had for one another literally drove them to sacrifice a 20 year old just so one of them could live. If that isn’t love then idk what is.

when Freya killed Davina and then walked out of the room you could see the panic on Elijah's face, he was defo thinking "oh great, Kol and Marcel are going to team up and kill us all" But like think of it, Kol, Marcel and Vincent teaming up to get revenge, like what a trio they would make!

Season 3 was the best season. I loved Davina and Cami as many did and I think their deaths actually elevated the season and it made it more impactful for me. Phenomenal acting on their part. And the season finale felt like the end of the world for me. It was just really powerful.
