Hi 👋 Michelle welcome back it was great to see you today and love seeing your beautiful samplers can’t wait to see them charted. Have a wonderful week and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
Great FT Michelle. I admire your energy. Researching, charting, fabric dyeing, creating FFO's, stitching, raising a child, teaching. Whew! I think I need a nap--if you don't! And I was lol on losing a bit of timber! I feel your pain there! Great to have you back!
Lizzie looks absolutely amazing!! Thank you so much for stitching her!! I purchased another marking type sampler like Lizzie and am excited to get it charted. Your Teresa Kogut piece is stunning! I just love the colors she uses! Have a great vacation, I know you’ve been crazy busy, so enjoy some relaxing downtime. 💜 Your antique samplers are amazing! I snagged a spool like you showed at an antique shop not too long ago! You, me and Julie are on an antique buying craze! Lol Jones is my maiden name.
Welcome Back! I very much missed the Sunday Morning Briefing! I think the Bear is my new favorite for A Year in the Woods! I haven't stitched any yet, but I'm collecting them all and really love seeing your progress on them! Have a wonderful week!
Hi from Raleigh,NC in USA. Great video, looking forward to your charting those. That one would look cute as a separate one made into a little drum. Both are lovely.🐕🦺😎
Very happy to see you back. I don’t think you need to apologize for needing to take a break. I understand your commitment to your students. I would be interested to hear more about your search for information on the girls that stitched the samplers.
Just found you on the internet and am so happy to see your stitching. I am also doing the Year in the Woods animals. I love the way you dyed your fabric!
love your Year In The Woods pieces, I'm really drawn to the swans as we have a lot on a local reservoir. With 2 sons in the middle of A level and GCSE exams I totally understand why you felt like your students needed you. The teachers at their schools are definitely going above and beyond with help to get them through the stresses. Take care and have a great week.
Welcome back! Well, my doctor encouraged me to lose some timber & I started last September (over 30 lbs which is a little slow). I have been in a program with a doctor, dietician, behavior specialist, & exercise specialist. What I have learned for me is that this is not a diet or temporary change, but a lifestyle change. I can no longer have the cookies, cakes & donuts at will...ever. They have to be an occasional celebration. I've also learned my beverage of choice needs to be water or no sugar. Alas, I'm also learning that I need to be more active (which is hard for a 76 year old) & I'm doing some you tube videos called yes2next. They are an Asian daughter & mother team & have videos from 5 minutes to 40 minutes; I like the variety. I wish you the best in losing a little timber!!!
Lovely show again. I think the break has done you well. We missed you here and are glad that you are back. Love the samplers and excited to see what you will be doing with them. 'Till next time
Lovely to see you back. Enjoyed seeing your WiPs and purchases and to see and learn abt your samplers particularly the possible Wrexham windmill as I live in north east Wales. Have a good week.
So glad you are back. Knowing Brenda and Laura will be MIA until the end of June, I was going to have Sunday Flosstube withdrawal…lol. I know the end of the school year is stressful for everyone. Enjoy your trip to the Cotswolds and picking floss at Patchwork Rabbit.
All is right with the world now that the Sunday Morning Briefing has returned! 😉 Glad you had a productive time away. Wonderful stitches and HAUL!! Losing a little timber - love it - got to do it, too. Happy Stitching
Hi, My daughter and I recently went to Patchwork Rabbit, what a great little shop very small but packed with goodies. I wish we had more brick and mortar shops in UK there are no shops near me and it took us 2 hours to get to the shop from Surrey. Buying on line is just not the same. Lovely day here in Woking hope it lasts. Anne
So lovely to see you back. So while you were looking after your students I had a go at doing my own flosstube. At this point it is under Lynette Peters and definitely a wip at this point. Lol I have been working on Mary Ann Kittle and have started another sampler from Whilst Iris Naps. Beautiful projects. Love your new samplers. Look forward to next week. Have a great one.
Great to have you back. The samplers are lovely. Such different styles but all display the stitcher's skill. Glad you have some time off. Enjoy midterm. Keep stitching
So glad you are back! I am a new flosser so I wanted to ask if you could direct me to some history regarding samplers. I know people love to stitch them and I was wondering if it was the historical aspect or if there was a hidden meaning behind them that I am missing. Thank you for sharing with us your talent and humor. When I listen to you at work, I will sometimes laugh out loud giving my coworkers the impression that I am a little wonky. Can't wait for the next video!
We have a #summerstocking sal starting today!! You should join us!! I'm doing carriage house's quaker stocking. Glad you enjoyed your break, you were missed. I've never done a sampler. Been looking for one with no naked people or giant birds, lol. LOVING your lovely girls. I think one of them might be my first. Thanks for many hours of laughter & enabling. ❤️
Glad to see you back!! I love your antique samplers so much. I have bought some and I'm charting my first- not sure my eyesight is up to the challenge. I highly recommend following a keto diet - it's easy once you get the hang of it and you can still eat cheese!! Jacqui x
Thank you Michelle , lovely to see you again. I wish all your students the best of success in their forthcoming exams. Those samplers look amazing , yes I said samplers were not me but having completed the first one you charted , think I am hooked. I am looking now to do a Scottish sampler (being a Scot in England) and I like the look of your new old one in the video. Well I had better get on I start dissertation marking today so your video has set me up nicely. hank you.
Yay!!! Michelle is back! I was just thinking about you a couple of days ago, and thinking exams should be about over, so you would be back soon. All your projects are fabulous as always. You are a creative lady…love your charting, too. So happy to spend time with you again!🥰
Those samplers you purchased are fabulous! I can hardly wait for them to be available to stitch but I might have a thing or 50 to keep me busy till then. 🤣. Wonderful to see you back!
Thank you for thinking about the Aida stitchers with your Susanna Eccles. I will be looking out for her when you have finished doing what you need to do to finish her off! Will you be doing her in a Booklet and PDF?
Oh boy. All your talk of Ancestry had me down a rabbit hole. My MIL’s family are from Scotland. I have spent the last two hours looking things up. OH well it is a day off - right. I have accomplished nothing today. Have a great week.
Welcome back!! I missed our Sunday Morning Briefing, but sometimes other priorities take their turn. It’s Memorial Day weekend, and school is out for me! It has been a long, challenging year, but my students have done well. Just have Institute day for me next week, and this year is done. Now it’s stitchy summertime! Love all of your WIPs. The Year the Woods series is just beautiful! Have a great trip!
Good morning Michelle...it's a glorious spring day already here in Ontario, Canada. By Tuesday we should be very near 30*C. Great weather to sit under the tree & stitch! Lot's of goodies & eye candy you've shared today. Love the samplers & look forward to seeing the ones you chart.
Lovely to see you back Michelle. Your sampler purchases are great, I’m sure you’ll have lots of fun charting them. I’ve never heard the phrase “to lose a bit of timber” but I know the feeling only too well. 😉
I've just started watching you 2 months ago! I look forward to the Sunday updates. Love your take on fabric and colors and thanks for the freebies. US loves mommaGB.
Lovely to see you back Sunday mornings have been so quiet...and lovely to see your wonderful haul!! I've kind of joined in on Maynia but was unwell for a few weeks so didn't get as much stitching done as I wanted to!! I picked 4 projects but ended up doing 2 main ones...just getting back to stitching...plus I've got a small Queen's Jubilee cross stitch to do which will go with my lovely biscuit tin I also got from M&S....I've donated some of the biscuits....I'll be going back for the blue one if they still have it 😄 my daughter's teacher likes short bread so I'll give them to her, lol!! Anyway lovely to have you back, see you next Sunday and hope you enjoy half term!!xxx
Hi Michelle, good to have you back. Wow, the sampler with the windmill is spectacular - that must have stood out in the local landscape 😆. Just a thought about the lovely Catherine McBride sampler; could B School possibly be referring to her attending a Board School? They were set up in the mid 1800s and run by local authorities. Have a great half term week!
Just a quick thought about your Scottish sampler. The anchor looks to me like a Naval Surgeons anchor. May be a clue, or it could be that at this time there was a great deal of interest in the Navy, however a lot of struggling young doctors at this time came from Scotland and joined up. May be nothing, just a thought. Good luck, looking forward to hearing how you get on. Love the podcast x
I love your progress on the year in the woods! The spring panel where you have three of them started looks so good! I’m curious how we’re doing with the guesses we sent in at the beginning of the year, has anyone got them all right so far? (I know I haven’t!) That windmill is fantastic, so unique. I laughed when you mentioned looking for Joneses in Wales, that’s my family tree research in a nutshell! Welcome back! :)
Welcome back! Love your year in the woods - I’m really looking forward to the Eagle and if there is an owl in the future I’m definitely going to have to do that. I just love both of your new charted samplers, they’re beautiful and I’m looking forward to seeing what you find out about the new girls. Have a great weekend!
Michelle, you hit a grand slam with your first podcast back…you make stitching life so enjoyable…have a great vacation and happy stitching ❤️❤️
So glad you are back. I love all of your beautiful samplers and your WIPS. Have a wonderful weekend and happy stitching.
