Sniper's last line brings a lot of perspective to their actual role in the games. A true assassin would know every detail about their target. The fact he knows the Widowmakers real name shows he basically knew his opponent more than they knew him and metaphorically, was crossing her name off the hitlist. Winning line in my opinion.

Something just clicked for me and I love it. If you listen to the chorus, you can hear Widowmaker's voice really clearly, but there's no sign of Sniper's. It's not clear why until you take the comic into account. "[He] wasn't a sniper. He was a sadist. Professionals don't stand around monologuing; if they see the shot, they take it." Which sums up the difference between Sniper and Widowmaker quite clearly, really. Sniper's polite, if a bit cheeky or overenthusiastic at times, but Widowmaker is, among other things, a sadistic bitch. And the point is underscored here, where Widowmaker gets to wax poetic about her opponent's funeral and Sniper just... silently lines up a shot, I guess.

If you listen to the chorus, you can hear Widowmaker's voice really clearly, but there's no sign of Sniper's. It's not clear why until you take the comic into account.

Which sums up the difference between Sniper and Widowmaker quite clearly, really. Sniper's polite, if a bit cheeky or overenthusiastic at times, but Widowmaker is, among other things, a sadistic bitch. And the point is underscored here, where Widowmaker gets to wax poetic about her opponent's funeral and Sniper just... silently lines up a shot, I guess.
