I also agree it’s a much better format than the previous random friendlies, but with leagues having packed schedules already, I think it would have been better to call it off this time around. I think the setup is quite good. The finalists of the Euro and WC in the same group (France qualifying on both counts) sets up some potentially good matches. I like separating the so-called minnows from the better teams, and putting the very strong teams together.

I think you forgot to mention that all the relegations from last seasons Nations league were reprieved for the new format, which is why last year the format was 12/12/15/16 and this year the format 16/16/16/7.
Let them play in June 2021 the uefa nations league finals and then go straight to the euros how lit will that be for teams advancing to uefa Europa league finals and some how go deep into the euros
Funny, because the CONCACAF Nations League had a merit based placement for the first season. That's why a team like Cuba ended up in League A by luck. Of course, they got relegated. What a bunch of nonsense. If your country is strong, chances are they will either be group leaders or runners-up (in the WC qualifiers) at least. Therefore being group leader in the Nations league is basically irrelevant as far as WC spots are concerned. If your country is weak it´s not in the League A teams anyway and won´t be able to get a spot in the WC other than through regular qualifiers.This is just another rule for the tradicional, elite European teams, in case they compeltely duck things up in qualifiers (providing they´re successful in the Nations League)

For the first division groups instead of going to a superior division you play a final four with the other group winners, whoever wins that final four it's the champion of the Nations League. It isn't that hard to understand.
