Wow. Thanks for the depressing video reminding me that I'm a 42 year old poor person that will almost certainly remain a poor person for the rest of my life. I will admit you were 100% correct when you said we never can run fast enough to catch up. I bought a small house years and years ago after getting married, saved for decades, paid down debt so all that was left was my house, climbed a career ladder so at this point in my life I could buy our dream house and raise my family in it. Right as we started to look for a house and cash in on all this work, and all this sacrificial discipline, the COVID crap hit and houses in my area are 30-40% higher than they were just a few years ago and I can't afford anything better than what I'm already in now. Combine that with inflation and my entire life's work has been demolished by powers outside of my control.
I did everything right by what I was told growing up and still got hosed in the end. I can't hardly stand to think about it, and frankly when I do I just despair and try to figure out what the point of even bothering to try anymore is. I get up early every morning to do the same job and routine I've done for years, and know in my heart I'm doing it for nothing. I guess for survival, but no dreams, no hope, nothing beyond the next meal to justify it. I hate it.

Can you further explain the "wash sale" story? My understanding of wash sales is they only count if the shares are sold for a loss and bought back in within 30 days but the the trade in that story wouldnt be considered a loss because the shares would be exercised for a profit, thus causing a taxable event and not eligible to be considered a wash sale. The story has been bothering me since watching the video yesterday so i thought i would just ask for further explanation in case im just stupid and missing something. The most anger inducing part of this video was how Rudy repeatedly said he wished he was a billionaire. Why?
You've been public that you have 8 figures in magic alone and that you have TONS of investments outside of that which suggests your net worth could be in the 9 figure mark by now. How is this so little success to you that you still wish you were a billionaire?
Also why are you still PRETENDING to be so angry and upset when it comes to talking about something you perceive might make your viewership unhappy? 90+% of your videos talk about how what your doing will bring out negativity. Whether its talking about the direction of WOTC or speaking positively about metazoo and FaB. You run a drama channel whether or not you actually realize it Considering you start most box openings by calling yourself Timmy for opening standard sealed product its clear you know exactly what you're doing.
Also...as part of the mega elite...you get to benefit from this system as will generations of your family and loved ones. Can't be all that bad. You're also free to spread as much good as you please with that wealth which is definitely more than what you could say about the 99% idiot viewers who follow you (myself included). We're too dumb to spend or save responsibly which is why this entire channel exists and why you constantly call us Timmy's and speak down on us.

I even heard you mention the "leveraging against their lifestyle." But what I can never, ever help but stop wondering is "Why?" To what end is all of this for? What's the motivation? Simply growing wealth because someone can? I don't understand how/why it seems to never feel like enough no matter how wealthy a person is. That's the fundamental misunderstanding I have with capitalism, once it stops being about survival, I cannot understand the purpose. What's the point of growing wealth forever? Is it archaic from survival days? I don't think so, because there are so many generationally wealthy people that have no wealth-growing survival necessity instinct... Is it for.. Simply the sake of doing it? It seems so incredibly purpose-less... I just don't understand that piece.

Ya BUT for poor people who don't have a bazillion to borrow against...
Div stocks aren't an awful choice?
Ideally, if your a poor like us; you first want a financial foundation - no debt, no mortgage, then start buying bonds, stocks, a rental, et cetera.
And do so using a financial advisor imo.
I may be wrong though, because well, I'm poor and just justifying my own situation, I think.

    Thank you!

TL;DR = dividends manifest tax implications, another level of The Matrix the average person is clueless on. Great video as always, Rudy! Real gold here. Also no joke, trying to tap mana across several cards to pay for spells = exactly like Rudy explaining how the wealthy maneuver assets for maximum borrowing at lowest interest rates possible, thereby paying no taxes etc. The real-world Black Lotus!

Rudy, I make 75K a year and have almost zero savings. I approve this video. This is TRUTH. Money-making is complex, ONCE you're wealthy (not rich) ... once you're WEALTHY, it's easy. Unfairly easy.

    With the finance videos
Yes alot of people want you to spoonfeed them an answer to their own struggles, but when you have the drive I feel these financial videos are still important for telling people that aren't even vaguely aware about how wealthy people play a different game with their money than the average american.

Rudy, can you clarify one thing. In the story of the guy who bought the shares, had them appreciate, wrote covered calls, had them called away, and then repurchased you mentioned that he would get out of paying taxes on that buy re-entering the position.
I don't believe that's correct. Can you review that part? I believe the wash sale only applies to stocks sold at a loss and not re-purchased within the 30 day window.
    Loved the video though, thanks!

Stocks for this mostly poors chat? Really? You guys have to get rich first and stocks aint gonna get you there on modest stock investments. Make aggressive investments for a 2021 world and you will be a millionaire in less than 18 months. I know as I just did it and opportunities are still everywhere right now. Then you could jump in some Rudy stock and take advantage of the system.

It's quite interesting that in the end the gap between poor and middle class is sooo much smaller than middle class and rich!
I don't remember where I heard it (maybe Rudy's old videos) but leverage is indeed the gretest force of the universe XD
Amazing video and only a second close to the one with the credit card tilted game (man that one still amazes me)

The dividend strategy won't make you stupid rich and it's not efficient because of taxation, but if your goal is financial independence instead you could do worse (if you actually need the cash flow).

Would love to see more vids like this Rudy. The past year I've been digging deep into the financial crimes that happen in this country every day and yet nobody goes to jail. It's become extremely depressing for me. Almost seems like the only way to get up that metaphorical slope you speak of is to lie, cheat, steal, or get very lucky. But I was raised better.

I really do like these sorts of videos. Just because things are unfair and people are financially illiterate, doesn't mean they can't learn more useful things day to day. Once you've built wealth, avoiding taxes is the smart way to do things

  • @floatinghandsmtg9360
    @floatinghandsmtg9360 2 года назад +1

You can't wash sale gains. So what you mean is he probably bought back his covered calls at a loss and moved them into the future instead of having the stocks exercised. This information is dangerous. The person who wrote to you is not wealthy but is he asking for a path to wealth. You are skipping straight to 'bro you poor.' Your viewers are going to misinterpret this, over leverage on their trading accounts and go broke. You can say this is 'not financial advice' but you are oversimplifying everything and ignoring the very important risk management part of leverage. Entertaining but this will crush a lot of your viewers who don't understand.

I agree with what you mean about people not liking uncomfortable truths. I was born in poverty and want to get out. Understanding and accepting uncomfortable truths like the tax system and how wealthy people see money different from others early on really helped me get out of poverty.

I got hungry yesterday and had no food to eat, so I ate my mother's last two candy bars. I knew in two days I would get SNAP benefits and I would be able to replace them without her knowing. Unfortunately she found out. Now, 5 hours from now when my SNAP benefits go through I will buy those two candy bars and replace them. In a hungry man's mind, no harm occurred. In reality, I showed my weakness to my mother and the next time I get hungry and have no food to eat I will steal from someone who has more than just two candy bars.
    I have a job, I work 60 hours a week. And I can't afford a candy bar.
Someone who chastises me for not "investing" my extra income makes me wonder... What the fuck is extra income?
