Or you could cancel it out with the Recording Delay slider underneath. As you say, get as far as you can with the ‘happy medium’ process. If you’re still not happy you can slide the recording delay into the negative range to counteract the buffer size amount.

Great point yes you can of course slide the recording delay to offset any latency you’re still getting, but as a keyboard player when I’m recording I always want to feel like instrument I’m playing is reacting like it would on a real piano or synth for example with no audible latency so I can record as if I’m playing a real piano, or the closest thing to that as possible 👍 thanks for the comment

HI thanks for sharing. Didn't do anything for me... Buffer size set at 256 (165,3ms) set at 32 (160,7 ms). Doesn't change any behavior on my midi keyboard that is USB and connects directly to my M3 Ultra. any suggestions? thanks :)

Hey Reza, no worries, if you have set your buffer size to 256 and you are getting 165.3ms of latency then there must be something you have that’s causing that amount of latency. Are you using an audio interface? Or perhaps Bluetooth headphones? Bluetooth headphones create an unbelievable amount of latency, just need to get to the bottom of why your latency is so much, cheers

@@fasttrackkeys Thanks and you were right!!!!! Bluetooth headphones were causing the latency! thanks for your help :)

Great stuff man glad I can help, hopefully you are getting pretty low latency now. Feel free to watch my free piano workshop for producers by the way if you like 👍 you can register for free at www.FastTrackKeys.com 🤛🎹

would you recommend the apogee boom for minimum latency?

I haven’t tried the Boom before but I do have the Duet 2 and Duet 3 as well. Both are great for low latency, especially with a lower buffer size, but you’ll find any apogee product will have a similar minimal latency as the analogue to digital converters are some of the best in the world 👍

Hi Charlie, oh wow that’s a long latency, are you using Bluetooth headphones by any chance?
