While yes Hikaru is a victim in my opinion its inexcusable what he did. But still Taiki's mom is disgusting. How can a grown woman be so pathetic as to seek affection from a MIDDLE SCHOOLER. Its even more sad because there's so many people out there who are just like her..

It was still Kamiki that landed the blow, it's primarily on him.
The primary message from this is that while yes, Hikaru is inexcusable, there are still reasons why it led to his unforgivable decision. In a more shorter way, it is society
The big villain is Eri. I expect that she ordered Kamiki to kill Ai because she is jealous of her

Edited to add: Ruby is stewing that this is the character who murdered Mama. What might she do if she discovers Kamiki played a hand in Gorou's death? Only Akasaka know for sure 🙂

Is Hikaru's backstory accurate base on the movie
Yes. Gotanda himself says the stuff portrayed in the movie happened for real
90+% real a few dialogue may have been written by aqua and the director but the backstory is generally accurate but some of the major scenes are original since they lack information of what really transpired the movie arc is technically Onk's version of a flashback arc

I thought this chapter was alright, and it was interesting to see more Hikaru being an actual person and not just Edgy McEdgerson for once, even if it was all stuff we already knew about, but it was still interesting to see how those events actually unfolded.

I don't think pity but it's interesting to see what created the monster. From Aqua's portrayal Hikaru seems way tamer than I was expecting. I thought we'd see signs straight off the bat but we shall see what happens in the next few chapters.

Monsters are created by other monsters. Knowing how monsters are made may not redeem the monsters themselves but will prevent others from turning into them.

Definitely far fetched what's more plausible is he had a split personality or rather he changed, it's possible he was truly a sweet innocent kid when he first met Ai but the trauma he had with Airi and the anger for the industry as a whole eventually led him to become the person he is today

I just had a massive brain storm when I see this panel 7:02, if you know you know
I was thinking about this chapter for a long time and I'm sure there is something more to the last line. 7:45 "The power of lookism turns people into monsters." But even more horrible monsters are created when "the perfect image" of person with that power is getting destroyed. For now to me the most horrific monsters that are alive right now in this story for each gender are Hikaru Kamiki and the real Fujuki Nino. Great review. 😃
