Making stone tools is just as valid in2024 as it was 100k years ago. Keep those archeologists on their toes and thinking outside anything that resembles a box!

a detail i noticed from some other archeology channels, is that our ancestors seemed to have regularly used sites to butcher animals, and there always seems to be a surplus of related tools at those locations. i was wondering if you had any thoughts on what tools/materials you might keep on yourself as an every-day-carry, versus which tools/materials you might store at a regular fishing, hunting, trapping, or processing site. cheers
Great question. I have a couple videos that address the EDC, but processing sites were likely based on the size of the prey. Deer could be carried back….bison and elk broken down on site and brought back to camp. Appreciate you watching. Thanks 🤙

The funniest thing to me is all these high tech redneck hunters that look at me like I'm weird and crazy for doing this stuff when they can't get a deer without a ton of fancy equipment and couldn't make three days in their own in the woods. Some people even look down on me like I'm an idiot.

@@DonnyDustsPaleoTracks I'm sure human beings fought over resources of all kinds from my experience in paleontology and archeology from college we would visit sites around the United States and they would often mention as a side note that there were cashes of points of all sorts and raw Flint blanks and stuff and shirt or whatever from different areas all the way across the United States and Canada and everywhere else I guess! They were store these massive caches of points and a lot of times they were mistaken as burial sites and gifts but really they were just people burying a loved one and while they were digging in the ground they would also store some weapons and some useful tools for hunting that way they can revisit the site and generate their loved one that passed and grab some points and some blankets and stuff if they needed them and keep hunting they have them strategically placed around the areas that they would go and hunt on regular basis! 👍🏼✌🏼✌🏼 Very cool channel and I subscribed it's really really neat! 👍🏼😀

Great show Donny, what material is that? It looks like a tablet chert, all coretext when you started on it.
Georgetown chert. It had a bunch of cortex…I knock off a couple pieces to test its quality.
