Troward's spiritual philosophy is very sophisticated, combining the best of the Hermetic-Kabbalistic tradition with a fundamentally Christian orientation which saves it from the mere power-grabbing of some strands of New Thought. However, Troward himself was into other things like Anglo-Israelism, which I find highly implausible. His metaphysical formulations are among the best available, along with Ernest Holmes's, whom he influenced greatly. Gaze was attempting to update and summarize Troward's works, which are old-fashioned and unwieldy for many people to try to get a handle on. Now I think we need a further update for the 2010's! Troward's turn-of-the-20th-century diction doesn't bother me personally; I find it charming and intelligible. But in the age of tweets, something has to be done to translate it into 140-character segments! lol
