if anyone is looking for the method mentioned, its called the "parallax effect" or "parallax cube". you should easilly be able to get loads of videos on the subject.
I would use a trigger box and have it load in as soon as your about to walk up the stairs or occlusion/frustum culling or something, but this way is neat.
The trigger can also work with this method! I very briefly talk about it at the start where you set its state to "loaded" instead of "activated" but yes this is a very cool way too if you have stairs or something :D
You can you child data layers too to solve the parent issue and also use level instances for your interiors, you can then just load and edit the instance rather than clutter up your data layers
You absolutely can! Level Instances are great for this too :D in the next part we're going to look at changing the map (skyrim style), maybe I should look at adding instancing too. Make it the "ultimate" door!
