- This wild baby groundhog accepts and loves a cashew from this man in Canada. He eventually allows himself to be petted along with his mother.
Scott had befriended this little guy's mother 2 weeks earlier. As future videos will show, the mother eventually trusts Scott with full access to all 5 of her babies.
Dang. They're even cuter when their small.

This is just adorable! This baby is soooo cute,🥰
Chunk! Is that you?
I love Chunk
Haha! Everyone loves the Chunk family but these guys are adorable too.
Groundhogs like fruits and vegetables. Carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, bok choy, and apples are just a few. If you want to know what to feed groundhogs watch Chunk the Groundhog.
Chunk is definitely #1. Folks also need to check out Puff the Magic Garden. The young girl who runs the channel does so many creative things for her groundhogs and the other critters who live around there. She has some really cute videos.
Chunks Canadian kin!
The way it just pauses and stares at the cashew in the beginning 🥺.
So cute 🥰. Funniest part was the baby was chewing on his finger. He’s like hey that’s my finger.
It doesn't question where its food comes from, like a true Canadian.
🤣🤣. So true! We tend to be too polite to ask if it's safe.
This is the best thing I’ve ever see. I love this so much. That baby is so cute 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Little baby is so so so so cute 💖💕💕💕
We have 2 adults we feed here in Kentucky and just love to film and watch them eat. But this baby here takes the cake!!!
Awwww, what an adorable baby groundhog, eating cashews.
God's creations are so amazing, AND adorable! ❤
He is so precious
Soooooooooooooooo cute !!!!!!!!! 🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰
Adorable
Groundhogs are smarter than a lot of people, at least some I know personally.
Jokes aside I used to work with a guy whom had a friend whom found an abandoned baby woodchuck and raised it, it was like a puppy, it would sit on the couch and watch TV with him, scratch the door when it wanted to go outside, etc.
I believe it! They would actually come running when Scott called them. There's some wild myths and half-truths out there about these little guys...like "Entire tractor...no, a fleet of tractors, (Yeah..that's it) were swallowed up by a groundhog burrow today!" ...but, I'm not seeing the science on this. If it wasn't for strict Ontario laws, I think they's be great pets. Thanks for the comment Andrew.
@@owltracker3030 Maybe Groundhogs do NOT make good pets, but for a different reason than what you might think. It is my understanding that they MUST hibernate from November thru March. (here in the Northeast , a bit less in the Southern regions) They won't live as long if they don't as I recall reading. So your Pet will be "away" for 5 months,..... no fun in THAT! :-)
This year one of my back of garage mom's had 3 babies,...and one of the three is braver than the others and when I get on my knees, he/she? come over to eat up several crisp green leaf lettuce leaves,.... and allowed me to pet it several times. Probably about 1/5 of mom's size,....and the fur was more cat-like than what I was expecting. They're ALL spoiled, and as working from home I can spend a few hours a day feeding 40-50 squirrels, hundred of birds, and a few adult woodchucks and the 3 babies. They ARE so cute when small..... :-)
Throughout the day, the woodchucks get a large(3 pound?) green leaf lettuce or similar (some days TWO), ...a pound+ of carrots, a large Broccoli crown, and they nibble in the squirrel's unsalted almonds and sunflower hearts. They also get into the bird seed and bird bread I put out (Arnold 15 Grain bread,...2 loaves a day!)
@@josephtousignant7318 Thanks Joseph 😊. That's a good point about the hibernation 👍. Especially with groundhogs as it is a deep one...like their heartbeats going down to 5 per minute. That's cute that one would actually come up on your lap too. Thanks again for the comment👍
@@owltracker3030 I just started feeding one of these things near a local park. He is around the same area every day looking for food so I'm sure he lives in the same spot. I think he recognizes my car because whenever I visit the park I see him there. I want to try to tame him more.
@@mediaguy4037 Sounds like you might have a new friend for life😀. I think he does recognize your car because momma got to know our cars within a few days.👍
Groundhog tv love it!!!
Oh, a CASHEW! Yum.
Look at the face 😂😂
Wow that groundhog is eating a cashew, the bacon of nuts. Such cute little fuzz balls eating their hearts out. I never tried to pet my critters, but they didn't run from me.
Thank you for highlighting my comment. Such a friendly Groundhog, hope they are still alive and eating cashews.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🥬🥬🥬🥬💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🥬🥬🥬🥬💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
"the bacon of nuts" 😂 I love it.

The little woodchuck reminds of the Little Critter character from the book series! 🥺
Bonjour 🐕, Ces petits Animaux sont adorable et ils n’ont pas peur des humains. Il faut absolument arrêter de les chasser ! Longue vie aux Marmote. Amitiés 🐕 🐕 🐕
Merci beaucoup😊😊
Man why arent human babies this cute
?? You have issues
How lucky are you Thankyou for caring for them 🙏💜
They are cute, and smart obviously.
Lucky he didn’t decide to see if he liked the taste of finger better than cashew😆I see you have a good bond of trust with them.🥰
These groundhogs are so cute! Thanks for the work you’re doing here with this family.
Thanks Julieann.
This is so adorable!!

My yard hog comes runnin for saltines with jif and pops up right next to me
Such a cute little critter 😊.
I've had pet groundhogs. VERY entertaining little animals. Better pets than cats, and dogs for companionship in my opinion.
This is exactly what I've been hearing👍. They do seem to form a tight bond with people. Thank you for the comment.
I have a mom and 3-4 pups out back. My husband and I feed them mostly apples, broccoli and carrots. The mom loves bananas. I can stand a few feet from them now since they are so used to us. They are so entertaining! They cuddle and wrestle. Believe it or not, one of the pups actually hops over/skips the stepping stones on their way to where we put the food out. Actually looks like a happy kid skipping!!
@@biancalana2372 Hi Bianca....thanks for the comment😊. They sure do love bananas don't they? The next video will show Frodo (a bit more grown up) relishing a banana. That skipping the stepping stones sounds hilarious. I'd love to see a video clip of that.👍
Great skills to socialize the wildlife. Bravo to you sir.
Yes, and when they lose fear of humans and then get killed or something by some assholes. it's thanks to you idiots. Bravo.
what a sweet baby
😄 Imagine having a cashew so big you have to hold it with both hands and take bites out of it... (In my dreams!) Lol 😂
Awwwe lol
Nice manners for a little dude!!!
Be kind to animals, everyone!
I just discovered a ground hog living on the property to this apartment complex I’m in. Can’t be seen leaving food out for him though. Weekends- weekends are freedom. Will they eat shelled peanuts? I have a 10 pound bag from my other wild yet tamed critters. 💜
Hi Stephanie. They LOVE shelled peanuts. All the best.
So cool man.....

Everything's cool till a finger comes off 😂
Scott, all the best to you and your "kids"I was blessed with the trust of a ground hog several years ago. While he would come to me when I called him for dinner,I avoided any physical interaction.I did so because I have seen too many people gain the trust of animals only to turn them into ...well you know what.I truly respect the research you are doing and only wish I could intermingle with the "kids" as you are able to.
Thank you Sam. Scott checked in on Momma a few weeks ago and she has a whole new batch of little ones this year👍.
Happy Groundhog Day!!
This is sooo cute!
So stickin cute!!!
Ooooooh. So precious. Hopefully that cutie won’t trust any other human but you.
They all ended up being very selective in who they would trust.
How cute!!!!!
BEAUTIFUL! You sir, have accomplished one of my goals in life. Thanks so mucb for uploading.
I owe it all to Scott Singler. He did all the film work for both of these videos and spent a small fortune in trail mix.
@@owltracker3030 All that trail mix was worth it to see those full bellies😄
Hawks flying above ... lol 😂
im doing the same and there so cute. im feeding 2 groundhogs not sure if its male and female or 2 females but they love to eat lol
Good work : )
Love all creatures great and small.
Look up Chunk the groundhog
@@tomaskuli177 I love The Chunk Family!
He may seem harmless, but he, by himself, can destroy the foundation of your home, sheds, workshops, by burrowing underground. And they can decimate your garden or farm lands. They cannot fully be made tame . And, they can put a big hurt on a finger/hand that’s been bit. Don’t remember if they are carriers.
They are susceptible to rabies. Fortunately these are healthy looks like. But yes, destructive when too close.
This is beautiful indeed and your heart is full of joy, i’m afraid he may come ro trust other human beings who may not love them and think groundhogs are a pest and harm them .... please don’t let them become pets, for their own welfare.
I love the video, it’s only that as an animal rescue person, I’ve seen atrocities committed against unsuspecting, defenseless or trusting animals.
I’m not talking about dogs and cats, only wild life.
Hes so sweet
I am obsessed with groundhogs I did not know they would let you touch them ever! They are the cutest and I actually have a chunk the groundhog sweatshirt but I totally love seeing them being rubbed on. Would love to do that! I'm in love with all of them💖💖💖
Me too! We feed them and they still run away though. They run as soon as they see a human being. They're kind of chubby so they can't run very fast. It's cute to see how they try to book it back into their shelter.
I never really thought about them having ticks. Hope you are able to help them get rid of them.
Cuteness is all the rage. Get yours today. Cuteness is ruling the human mind beyond returning to normal. We are doomed as a species.
😆😆
So damn cute!
How frickin PRECIOUS!!

They are super cute, with their little tongue, little hands and feet.
Super cute ,right up to the time you lose a finger.

Those little hands.

Hand feeding the groundhog is impressive, as is petting the mother! Btw, if you like these cuties, you’ll probably also like Chunk the Groundhog.
I love Chunk👍.
How do u make groundhogs not be afraid of you when ever I try to approach a groundhog in my backyard they run away how do u do that they are super cute please reply to me on how to not make baby groundhogs afraid of you?
It was kind of funny at first. The male or father would always run away from us no matter what we tried. The female was gradually coaxed with food being thrown to her in lesser distances everyday and winning her trust. I still failed but Scott persevered and built a special bond with her. The babies seemed to have less fear. I'm posting another video next week of several clips of a 6 to 8 week old Frodo running toward the camera (put to funny music of course) in quite the displays of trust. He especially loves bananas. Thanks for your question.
Owltracker the babies have less fear because their prey defenses aren’t fully formed by the mother yet. You are interrupting this process, and threatening their ability to survive around potential prey, including humans if they have access to the area in question. This is something one must be prudent and suspect of doing in all circumstances
Already in the parking site, they wait for their Uber.
Dude he already has a piece in his hand. Ain’t until he’s done!
I have a video of me feeding a little guy like that. He was so special....
He looks like someone I went to highschool with
Aw, thank you, so sweet. I love them, adorable. Have you seen the channel for a groundhog called Chunk?
Thanks Sevi. Yes, I just recently started watching Chunk. He's extraordinary!
cute bellies!
Que hermoso animal, gracias por alimentarlo
Please don’t feed them salted nuts. Their bodies aren’t equipped to have that much in their system. Also give them fruits and veggies. They love them
Certainly chews it's food well and very politely. Sweet.
I love groundhogs and animals at all.....

As cute as they are they don't have to file a construction permit with the city when they alter your house foundation.

Ha ha! I just watched a chunk video👍. Hilarious😊.
I dont think the mothers appreciate this situation. Ive had a very doting female for a while. I lm hoping for one of the children to survive and take back its mother's burrow.
❤😍😍😍😍
😁😁😁😁
I’ve been watching this because there are 2 groundhogs (hopefully a mama and daddy) that live across from my house. I’ve caught some pics of them standing on hind legs and eating, but definitely wish I could tame them like in this experiment. Very cool. I’m jealous.
They are the funniest things aren't they? They seem to prefer to stand up when eating certain foods and when interacting with humans as the next video will show. You're right, that likely is a mom and dad. The male is quite involved when the babies are newly born, but strangely absent when they come out of the burrows. Thanks for your comment Katelin.😊.
You should put out some apples and carrots for them.
