That's insane hearing how the Araripe Manakin was almost extinct, and even now is greatly endangered, when its so unique looking and beautiful with its fluffy feathers and red cap. Absolutely, something so precious MUST be rescued.

Congratulations, Carole! Love this opportunity to see the Broad-tipped Hummingbird again. Your images are spectacular and what a little show off in its own little patch of heaven in the Caatinga.

I loved that little bird. I wished I could have done something to reward him. He is definitely the king of his little patch there!

Another interesting video Carole! Love that adorable Broad-Tipped Hermit, beautiful colors. Great photos of him! The Araripe Manakin is one of the prettiest birds I've ever seen. You were lucky to have seen these birds in person! Thank you for all you do Carole!

Hummingbirds are my first love, but that manakin was beautiful! I am lucky to have seen one in person.

Carole, I do think this was your best video yet! Why it is great is, firstly, I loved how you paused your narration to hear the nature sounds. Your interview with Mr. Pinto and Mr. Mattos was a lot better than your previous interviews and had a nice balance in conversation between you and your friends. There was a nice variety of footage and photos this time, from your vehicle ride, to the hummingbird shots, lunch and the Araripe Manakin. This channel is becoming the best hummingbird related channel on RUclips!

Thank you so much for the kind words, Dave. It is certainly my aspiration to introduce as many people as possible to the wonder of hummingbirds, not only the few we have here in the US visiting our feeders, but the many spectacular species that exist throughout the Americas.

Wow, I can't believe that little Hermit making so many moves. The mouth open photo was my favorite! The Araripe Manakin was a special siting and I wish I could see one. What a beautiful bird!

Carole, what a sweet little bird is the Araripe Manakin; like a little puffy cotton ball with a lovely red hat. I'm so glad that you found it. Thank you for another great video.

He was adorable. I'm getting introduced to some other wonderful birds on these trips besides hummingbirds. My guides are trying to turn me into a birder, haha.

I wasn’t in Brazil for birding but was thrilled to see a seriema. I was disappointed that I didn’t see a toucan or an anteater. Carole, I LOVE your videos- your wonderful enthusiasm and joy, the beautiful music and best of all the beautiful hummers!

I love the Araripe Manakin, so glad their numbers are up. That Brown-Tipped Hermit sure was a personable little Hummingbird. Love the video of the Glittering-Bellied Emerald bathing in the sprinkler water.Always love seeing the Swallow-Tailed Hummingbird. Your trip to Brazil was a huge success.
