What do you want to see first?
Performance/speed against a ripping current would be most enlightening!~
Ya. I look forward to seeing how it does as well.
For me, three things, 1. Stability, 2. Recovery 3. Does the drive still work if it flips?
The stability and recovery should be no different then the Predator/Bigwater. The drive does appear to be perfectly sealed so that shouldn’t be an issue. Stability looks like this - ruclips.net/video/imLZbfocA6A/видео.htmlsi=FMaZ1b_ZUUvCEJmK
Something that caught my attention, the EPDL is 26lbs heavier.
May or may not be a factor.@@NavarreKayakFishing
You know that would be something I'd like to see on the shop. A battery tray for the old town pdl. My batteries never stay put.
There have been many, many Reviews of this Yak. However, yours is the only one that matters. Can't wait!
We will make it. Thanks for watching.
Look forward to your on the water review. For me Nick it's about how it compares to the normal PDL drive. 👊🤙
Me too. If it can do 5MPH over shore without issues I’ll be extremely impressed.
Been happy with it so far. Speed boost makes it feel like I turned the clock back ten years of age. Cruise control is nice if you are wiped from heat.
It’s going to be nice to cruise back into the beach or troll for fish with assistance.
Love the DG basket! Man after my own heart.
Hahah. I’m surprised anyone noticed it.
Looking forward to the uploads on this thing. The BW132 pdl is already an awesome offshore/saltwater machine. This epdl ver is just next level. You’re the perfect person to demo this for us! Thanks Nick.
I’m going to enjoy fishing from it.
Alright Nick 😎.
Love mine, got it a few weeks ago.
Awesome.
Looking forward to your options and insight for rear rod storage. Love the larger well but I need ALL my rods with me 😂
All of them haahah.
Thanks Nick
Thanks for watching, Tom.
Nick you mentioned something about not storing your paddle where Old Town has it setup for. Where and how do you store yours? Great video look forward to more on the ePDL.
I keep my paddle under the bungee on the left hand side of the Bigwater. It lays flat in front of my left foot.
new sub good info
Thanks for subscribing.
Damn, I really wanna see it in action, on the water.
Maybe try going up a river, doesn't have to be flowing fast just wanna see it in some current with a frame of reference.
I do plan to take it up a river to chase some Catfish.
Be in blackwater catching trout in the morning come on
If weather holds maybe have it out at navarre next weekend for a blackfin?
Good luck with the Trout. I’ll see what the weather does and make a decision down the road.
Am I correct to assume that most bigwater accessories you make will be compatible? Rudder, rudder bolt, prop nut, steering knob, front ashtray covers?
You are correct.
Will it fit the sportsman 120 angler? It looks like it might.
Will they ever make it for sportsman angler 120? I would buy it but it m not buying a whole new kayak.
Heads up comparison bw PDL vs e-pdl,...speed...weight..reverse feel...a range test...
Those are the plans. Should be fun to test.
Looks like a cool yak! Does the battery come with the kayak?
The battery does come with the kayak.
How difficult would be to swap the batteries on the water? and are you going to DUNK the motor? still on warranty 😋
Swapping the battery while doable would probably be a pain.
They say the drive floats still. Might have to find out.
I know it’s designed to be a combination kayak, but could you put a 100 amp hour battery on it and use it strictly as a motorized yak?
You would have to store the 100AH battery in a different location but it would improve the run time of the motor. It would still be a combination of pedal and power but you’d have even more range.
Thank for the reply and video. I wish it was released last year before I bought my Autopilot 136. 😟
@reinaldomoll the AP has some cool features though. Pros and cons to both.
Is it an optical illusion, or is the rear seat landing higher in that Model than the Sportsman 120 PDL? I ordered, from you, and installed the 1.5 " rear seat risers and they helped, but I feel the angle of my pedaling would work better with the rear being higher. I haven't installed the front seat risers yet, because I thougt that might make it worse. Got any suggestions?
Maybe an optical illusion but we will find out. We have a 2" rear version. Most people raise the front 1" and the rear 2"
Dose the electric assist work in reverse, not a big deal if it doesn't just curious haven't heard anyone say if it dose or not
I do not believe it does.
@NavarreKayakFishing would definitely be nice if it did, personally I rarely us reverse, but feel like for them to move this to their other platforms it needs to, are the bass guys will be crying about it
Hey question old town says to keep the kayak on a saw horse upside down.
Is that really necessary?
Can I just leave it on the floor in my storage unit with a moving blanket under it ?
Which kayak do you have? Sometimes laying a kayak flat on the ground will deform the bottom of the kayak. If it’s a flat kayak like a 120 PDL it’s not big deal. The Bigwater on the other hand will slowly flatten out.
Yeah I have the big water, tomorrow im going to flip it over then and put some foam board insulation.
Would that be ok?
Can the epdl drive be bought separately??
It can not be purchased separately.
It can not.
How fast on cruise 5
We will find out.
143lbs? Good God!🙄
That’s a little over 20 more lbs than the Bigwater PDL.
I thought that you were not impressed with the ePDL?
I don’t think I ever said that and you’ve got to buy and use it to make an informed decision. If it can run full speed for three hours in a straight line it’s a winner.
He never said that and I watch all his videos
All this tech and engineering and they're still shipping that $17 seat. Literally garbage.
A better seat and it might cost $8000.
These plastic shells probably cost $50 to make .
That’s going to be far from accurate.
The mold for a rotomolded kayak cost upwards of $150k
