Hello, I have a simple question about the Premiere Pro Workflow. So, after selecting from the effects tab in ProResRaw settings V-Gamut/V-log for the clip, should I also add the Panasonic LUT (VLog_RAWGamut_to_VLog_VGamut_forS1H_ver100) for accurate color conversion? And then color grade from there with a Vlog to rec709 conversion and after that color grading? Is this the correct process?
There is only 1 thing that matters. It's WHITE BALANCE control (through camera raw). Until we have white balance control, the format is useless, market the shit out of it, professionals won't use it until we have white balance control.
Hey Atomos, When are you going to work with Sony & Apple to make WB and ISO adjustments possible? Bit of a marketing gimmick to call it RAW when you can't do these basic features that every other RAW format can.
I got the impression that Adjusting ISO was the exact same in post workflow as adjusting "exposure", and having one option with ProRes was as good as the other?

It depends on your car camera if it captures this metadata. However, you can still change white balance even if your camera doesn't export those metadata. Same is true I believe for ISO, at least with Assimilate Scratch. Reach out to their support for more details.
I had to watch this 5 times until I found it. When you have the Effect Controls tab selected, directly below it there are two mini tabs with the name of your clip. Click on the one on the left that starts with Source. It's confusing because it is NOT the main Source tab above. Hope that helps!
I wish you would have shown the pre-set up on how you got "Effects" on your "Source" header. My header only has the "Source" listed, no other info is listed....As a beginner I have no idea on how you turned that on and can't follow the instructions/steps at all.
With Sony cameras; PictureProfiles do affect RAW photo captures. Is it the case for video. Is RAW video capture affected by PPs like RAW photos ? Thanks.
So the advantages of prores raw in Premiere are the ability to adjust exposure and having a little bit more data (12-bit vs 10-bit) for color grading? I'm trying to decide if it is worth it for me. Even with the price drop of the ninja v once you add in storage, batteries, shoe mount, hdmi cable, etc you get close to $1k USD.

Question. I've been shooting RAW out from my Canon C300 mark ii to a Atomos Shogun Flame. When I import into Premiere and go to master settings, I don't see the ProRes RAW adjustments. Am I doing something wrong? Am I not recording in Prores RAW?
@@henrymortimer7280 Hey Henry. I ended up chatting with someone from Atomos. Even though they have a video about recording ProRes RAW into the shogun flame on RUclips it turns that monitor doesn’t record ProRes RAW. Only the Ninja V, Shogun Inferno, and Shogun 7 can do that
@@TimmyLodhi I am testing with a BlackMagic Pocket 6k that a friend loaned me. I am recording from that with ProRes settings. When I import that footage into Premiere and check the source file settings, the PRORES RAW plugin does not show. I have also downloaded sample ProRes footage online to troubleshoot and same thing. The PRORES RAW plugin I see on all tutorials does not show up for me. What do you think I am missing? From what I understand, the only parts to this would be footage shot in ProRes and the plugin for ProRes downloaded from Apple.

Hi Joe Thanks for sharing this very helpful video. I have just bought the Nikon Z6II Essential Movie Kit and now have the opportunity to shoot in ProRes Raw. What cable are you using to download the files from the SSD? The reason I ask is, I bought a Sata to USB 3 cable to read the Samsung SSD. The cable works great when the SSD is not in the caddy but when I put the SSD into the caddy the drive is not seen by my iMac, I am assuming the connectors are not long enough to connect properly when the drive is in the caddy.
It's unfortunate apple and black magic won't play nice. Prores raw seems like a winner, but Resolve wins over Premiere 100%. Here I thought I was done with transcoding. Oh bother.
Until the editing apps give the option to tweak white balance, iso & tint the Prores Raw recording is largely pointless. Raw essentially means you can edit those parameters post facto.
Recently trying to complete a job using this format on Windows and the footage looks absolutely awful, incredibly noisy compared to the footage in FCPX on Mac. The only workaround I can come up with is to have someone transcode the footage to ProRes 4444 QX then go from there but this adds a step that stops two people from working. Anyone had any experience in this regard?

Premiere 2021?!?! So I get support for RAW but then deal with open program file...crash. Open program file, project pops up....crash. The project finally opens then I click on a clip...CRASH. I just found a decent version of 2020 that works okay. I shall WAIT till other editors say it's okay to go in.

What a nightmare is it to work with Prores raw on Windows. I don't wish this even on my enemies. Complete and utter waste of time. Just stick to Pro res HQ.
2 things 1) This is way too many steps just to essentially raise and lower your brightness 😂😂 you might as well skip this step and just raise your brightness 2) raw hints that you should have control over raw information after shooting this this provides no ability to manipulate white balance or to change color space information b raw is so much better than this trash 😂😂
PRORES RAW is missing for me in Source Settings. I"ve installed the plugin from support.apple.com/kb/DL2033 but I must be missing something. I've even downloaded sample ProRes footage online to rule out any camera issue since I'm new to Blackmagic Pcoket 6k. Any ideas?

Using Lumetri panel it seems it can take advantage of WB adjustments without introducing casts, saturation clipping, etc
Braw has it all. I got my hands on a Nikon Z8. I typically shoot Braw on a BM 6k. I was so bummed with prores raw and N-raw.

As far as I know you can at least adjust the WB in Final Cut Pro X. I'm like 95% sure of that. So this might be more of a software related theme?

@@henrymortimer7280 ProRes is different from ProRes RAW. As fas as I know, the BMPCC 6K doesn't record prores RAW, just BRAW.
So what colorspace would i select if shot this on a sigma fp and transcoded this to prores raw

This video has been really helpful. Does anyone know if anyone has created a ProResRAW lut for the Sony A7Siii which I shot using the Ninja V monitor, similar to what you've shown at 2:58? I can't find anything similar to what you're doing here in the video.

@@pimmedia6597 No, I had to use an FX3 one. The original A7Siii luts are no longer on Sony's website.

Someone know why when i try to import my videos to premiere from the Atomos memory premiere doest allowed to import with the message "THE FILE HAS AN UNSUPPORTED COMPRESSION TYPE" or what im doing wrong from the settings. Do you shoot pro res raw with slog3? Or just normal picture profile?
I know that for the Sony Alpha 1, if you set the output to RAW it disables the Picture Profile completely.
RAWs doesn't use any picture profiles, as it's RAW data.
So is it still not possible to adjust the white balance via metadata? If not Adobe sucks..

Just got my Ninja V a couple of days ago. 25 min of ProResRaw UHD 25p on an Olympus EM1X is already 500 GB, so that seems about right I guess.

it'll never be available with resolve, obviously. blackmagic has their own raw format. they don't want to spoil their game.

Because it’s not being compressed and denoised by a codec, you have to denoise it yourself

What a nightmare is it to work with Prores raw on Windows. I don't wish this even on my enemies. Complete and utter waste of time. Just stick to Pro res HQ.
2 things 1) This is way too many steps just to essentially raise and lower your brightness 😂😂 you might as well skip this step and just raise your brightness 2) raw hints that you should have control over raw information after shooting this this provides no ability to manipulate white balance or to change color space information b raw is so much better than this trash 😂😂
PRORES RAW is missing for me in Source Settings. I"ve installed the plugin from support.apple.com/kb/DL2033 but I must be missing something. I've even downloaded sample ProRes footage online to rule out any camera issue since I'm new to Blackmagic Pcoket 6k. Any ideas?

@@AtomosChannel I chatted all morning with Adobe. They determined there is a bug in Premiere when editing ProRes Raw at least in windows. The master effects do not show up

@@AtomosChannel The hell you are sorry. Quit with the public bull to trying to save face in front of people. I wrote you guys OVER AND OVER and told you how urgent help was needed. I am gonna post this stuff everywhere until you guys wake up and get better customer service. I kept telling you this was urgent and three days later someone would write, not ANSWERING my question. and then I would write again and someone would write back DAYS LATER after MANY MANY message begging for help and STILL they would not answer my question. I STILL HAVE NOT HAD MY LAST QUESTION ANSWERED and I had to finally figure out my other two questions on my own!!!!! I seriously had to figure out my other two questions ON MY OWN because NO ONE THERE would help me and because after two weeks of asking for urgent help I needed to figure out SOMETHING cause my shoot was happening. This question still has not been answered: I have the Atomos Shogun 7 and the Atomos Ninja. I needed the Ninja to work with my C500 to get the best possible quality of recording for a smaller run and gun shoot. I needed to know the settings to get the most out of my C500, with the Ninja V, and the SDI Module.

It is concerning that I have to come to RUclips to get help and the ATOMOS support page customer service continues to ignore my full message and was delayed enough to where I was not able to record in the format I hoped to. I STILL to this day have not had my questions answered from customer service... Here is my ticket number: 173056. One MAJOR problem is ATOMOS is trying to control and up-charge for additional codecs. If we buy the Atomos products, we should not have to go through an insane amount of unlocking, needing to speak to support to gain access to the product, and then additional charges to use desired codecs! Anyway what started out with excitement has currently come to major frustration.
The customer service is a joke at Atomos!!
