This is amazing! What a TREASURE! I grew up in Inwood on Sickles Street...both sets of my grandparents lived here My fathers dad lived at 60 Seamans...I still remember, although there have been so many changes. Wish I could identify these parade streets better...shame on me!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I realized as I was listening to this video that I know all the words to all Of the songs. That's because my Dad taught me all the songs when I was 8 yrs old. We sang them together.
Unfortunately patriotism is no longer regarded as politically correct.Hhigh ranking clergy, journalists and most leftist politicians are far more supportive of illegal aliens and other law-breakers than they are of needy veterans who have HONORABLY served this great nation.
My first Memorial Day in Inwood was in 1958, and I heard speeches being made in Inwood Park. One of the speakers spoke of the P.O.W.s and M.I.A. s of the Korean War, which had ended less than 5 years ago, and suggested that the government should do more for those patriots.
I live in Inwood now. It is beautiful and friendly. If it has lost anything it is pricks like the whiny posters on this comments page. No loss. We are better for it.
Thank you! I grew up on Arden St.
