- This is part 1 of a series where I convert a medicom woody into the perfect ragdoll woody that is floppy and can swap heads to the signature collection just like ToyStoryNL. The new head swap mechanism I use; however, allows for woody to still have a floppy ragdoll, movie accurate head as opposed to the stiff magnetic mechanism of ToyStoryNL.

Aye very interesting. I’ve done something quite similar.
I’m glad you recorded your process of removing the “skeleton”, I didn’t document any of my work on the doll. Others out there also wanting to utilize the fabric from this figure have a guide now. I’ve done this twice now and I came to learn that the re-issue is slightly different on the inside. Keep an eye on my channel, I’ll be posting a video sometime in the future featuring my favorite movie prop replicas I’ve crafted. I’ll stay tuned to you, as well.
Btw, I don’t know if you plan on doing anything with Buzz, but I have an STL available of the toy-mode head sculpt on my Etsy shop, take a look!

Is there any reason the gen 2 bodies have the white stitching on the side of the elbows and knees? Is it safe to undo the stitching there?
Even the gen 1 bodies have it, but I have never undone it so I can’t say for sure. I think it’s used in making the woody to flip the arms inside out to stitch them after attaching the arms to the torso.
I’m thinking once the arms are sewn 90% inside out they flip them in and see it shut at the elbow. Same with the knee at the legs

would you be able to sell the skeleton? kinda want it for my woody custom tbh
I don’t know if you saw all three parts, but I actually place all the metal components back into woody after I remove the plastic joints and sew through the knees and elbows on woody. That way it gives him a nice weight and I can just pop the hands and boots on woody easily.

Would you sell the armature and heads and hands
I can definitely sell a head! The armature; however, is still in the woody. As you see in the video I put the metal pieces back in the woody so it has more weight to throw around when he flops. I just remove the plastic joints that hold the metal and sow through the elbow and knees.
Big question how did you get so much medicom woodys
Well I bought them over the course of a few years so spreading them out helped haha
Can you make a Toy story 5 woody doll custom toy
Heck yeah! I’ll probably do that one closer to the release of Toy Story 5 so I can maybe use one of the new toys from whatever line is release in conjunction with the movie 😎👍🏼
