This should be an easy fix for ea/codemasters and slower laptimes would be more realistic as the game is faster then real life. Also the handling would feel better, win win situation.
I miss the times of F1 2019 and 2020.. the last good games of this series. I spend hours and hours in 2020 and even tho 2023 was good imo, this setback is shocking even for EA. I will still purchase it because I just love spending hours in my Sim and do racing but I am really scared we all face a nightmare to deal with and EA won't fix it in time. This makes me so sad. The worst part is I have no confidence they'll actually fix the issues in a timely manner. Id rather they delayed the game 2-3 months and release a polished product. F1 23 is great IMO.
Thank you for taking the time not just to talk about the issues thats facing this game (perhaps it would have been a good idea to do a closed test session a month or two before release with the pro drivers to get all your opinions...) but also suggest ways to help alleviate the issues. As it stands my local league has already decided to hold of on f1 24 at least for the next few months, and then deciding if we will be moving forward at all with f1 24 or even just wait for a potential f1 25 if it does not get resolved. Sad to see how big of an issue it is becoming for the pro drivers, and am really not looking forward to seeing how people who are far less good and experienced would respond to this mess of a model.
Hi brendon, nice to see there is some kind of fix. Hope devs do some changes to car balance. Can you please do a video or talk a bit about how force feedback feels this year? I know you esports guy dont share your fanatec settings or even in game settings and just say to go 0 in almost everything ingame but would be nice to see some fanatec setups to feel car grip and track surface a bit better. Nice work, nice video.
I really appreciate that you take your time to improve the game. That is not easy when you take into account that there are emotions involved as well. Let’s make it clear. This game - let’s try to call it Sim Racing - is a hobby for a lot of people (league racing) and even a job (esports). And yet EA/CM don’t see the importance to create something that suits those customers as well. I don’t know numbers, but I am sure that those people put in more hours than the majority of (casual) customers that play with a pad. But even if 99% here find this useful and agree with you, it doesn’t help if EA/CM do not hear you out. And that is the saddest part of it all and a missed opportunity by the companies.
Everything people are hating just sounds great to me. The road isnt perfectlyy flat? Thats more realistic. These tracks have wear on them too. The "snappiness" of the front end...thats EXACTLY how it looks behind the wheel. Only thing in question is the curbs, and racetracks in general have discussed less sausage curbs due to safety. Ill see how it feels in about 20 minutes here.
I’m in agreement with you, the handling is the most I’ve enjoyed in years, challenging but fun. And I like all the different elements. F1 22 was 1000x worse and borderline unplayable and I don’t remember this much negativity towards it.
@andreawhite7375 I've probably put in 5 solid hours and counting since the 11 AM drop. I love it. Seen some people that played the beta, which I assume is what these streamers had access to, say that this not the same game they were playing and some changes must've been made before release today.
This games looks terrible. I have never seen a car look this disconnected from the track in any video games. Even the handling of mobile racing games looks more realistic 😂
8:27 so basically, they would just have to make the base suspension generally stiffer? i mean that at least seems doable for codies, can't be that hard to do ... edit : you said it 2 sec later 😭😭 edit 2 : the changes you suggest would also fix the issue with constantly being on the rev-limiter, having unrealistic top speeds AND would make the lap time even closer to real life. wouldn't that actually be like ... MUCH better?
Great Video mate, this is some serious good work! I can't wait to start testing out set ups. regardless of all the negativity I am super excited to just dive into this and continue making videos as well 😀😀
Good video as always, but even if they stiffer the suspension and everything there are still big problems the grip problem and the huge mid corner understeer....😢
I wonder if going right on both toes, locking the differential and maybe decreasing rear ride height and rear anti - roll - bar would help to have less rotation too.
It’s a great idea! I don’t think the problem is with Rotating the car, it’s more that the rear doesn’t slide and when you do slide it seems to be super easy to catch not losing much time So with this to get the car going fast like we would in esports we just load up a lot of front wing and manage a snappy rear
@@BrendonLeigh Yeah that makes sense, it seems we will have to accept the fastest way might not be the most realistic one. Just like when in F1 23 the fastest way to lap a Monaco was just to drift it if I remember correctly.
Thanks for trying, and yeah the set up I made was on the pre release version of the game and not the current spec of game I have seen the video though and marcel aced it 👌
@@BrendonLeigh Hi Brandon, nice of you to be chill and not get mad like most whiny RUclipsrs who are mad cause the game is different and they're losing clicks cause they can't beat 110AI on day 1... To me the physics are a big improvement from 23... The annoying unrealistic twitchiness on low gears acceleration is gone, the front end of the car feels like an F1 car turning with supreme aero while older games felt more like Le Mans prototype car which isn't nearly as fast and stable... In my humble opinion the devs are doing a lot of good and should ignore the whiny online comments coming from bots that just repeat mindlessly anything their favorite RUclipsr says without even processing if it makes sense....
This game looks like a mobile game. What a shame codemaster. The engine has not evolved since f1 15. Charge 70$ for a game and they worsen the handling and physics which were excellent in 23. Congratulations to those involved
Brendan can you explain how the car bottoms out on the straights but not on the Kurbs? Surely it would bottom out on both of the ride height was an issue?
Just from watching your hot lap, the gameplay looks very very strange. At some points the car looks like an f1 car on steriods where it turns in an instance and looks unrealistically unbelievable. Then at the same time, the car looks really unstable and the back end will be lost at any moment. Very odd game by the looks of it.
Does the handling model seem like it'll reward unique driving styles? (oversteer/understeer, Ving off corners, etc.) That was the part that intrigued me most about the new features. It's so dry seeing the same metas dominant the esports space.
Why haven’t EA collaborated with the esports guys before launch? It seems like sheer 2:24 arrogance that they wouldn’t use such a great resource. All they need is a NDA and they could have much smoother launch with more realistic default setups.
If you look at how the front wheels move in comparison to what you are doing with the wheel it's insane and way too exagerated compared to Iracing or even F1 23, it could be that that is a main issue which is causing the odd handling, At around 4:50 and after is so bad
Yeah the set up will transfer over to controller :) I’m not sure what ai difficulties I would recommend as it’s very dependent on someone’s pace on each track
The problem is that you are driving a "slow" car. The top class F1 (Ferrari, Red Bull etc...) feel horrible to drive. F23 was really smooth in comparison and it felt natural. Maybe (I'm not a F1 driver) this is more accurate or realistic but it's not enjoyable at all. So to fix the issue, you need a specific setup and a slow car. Great
