    Enjoyed that. I love the style of your videos, really informative. I shot nothing in Dorset last year. Now moved up in Scotland where I hope to do rather more spearfishing. I'll continue to look forward to seeing what my old haunts produce.

      Thanks for the comment. Spearfishing is great. You get to see what’s under the waves and get your own sustainable sea food. It can be hard to get started so if you’ve got any questions feel free to ask 👍🏻

    Any tips for predicting good water visibility Ryan? I'm new to spearfishing and went for a shore dive yesterday on what I thought would be perfect conditions. 3-4 days of low wind/swell and no rain. Got in the water 2 hours before high tide and water was full of sediment and could barely see my fins haha.

    • @ryane8881
      @ryane8881  2 года назад +1

      Hi mate, thanks for the comment, sounds like a nightmare! Visibility can be specific to an area. In some places spring tides can worsen the visibility but in other places it can make it better. You can get patches of poor vis that 24hrs later have cleared. Can be hard to predict.
      Might be worth checking tidal flow, some areas are silty and more affected. Trial and error!

    • @adzgaming5324
      @adzgaming5324 2 года назад

      @@ryane8881 that makes sense, guess its going to just take trial and error as you said. Appreciate the reply man! Your videos are a big inspiration for me starting.

    • @ryane8881
      @ryane8881  Год назад

      @@dinubutuc6442 hi, you can find bass all over the south coast so the exact location isn’t that important. If you Google Chesil cove then you’ll be able to go there and find a bass but there’s many better spots. A good spot would be boat diving off Portland bill!

    Great video👍 I'm new to spearfishing and live in kent so I have to travel across the country to find marks, is portland a good place for a learning spearo? Cheers

    • @ryane8881
      @ryane8881  2 года назад

      Cheers, you can learn at Portland but it isn’t really a great place to learn as the currents can be strong and potentially dangerous. Probably best to find more sheltered bays/coves and practice you’re diving and gear set up first
