    I saw the Wombles in Torquay, probably on the same tour.
    They played at the 400 Club under-18s night to a crowd of rowdy unfriendly aggressive teenagers.
    When the band came back on stage for the obligatory encore, they had to walk through the crowd to the stage, those poor Wombles were kicked and punched all the way.
    It was rumoured Madame Cholet got caught stealing a case of Vodka from the cellar.
    Happy Days.
    I also have some funny stories about the Fall at Elephant Fare.

    Stewart Lee there perpetuating the myth that Chris Spedding played on Never Mind The Bollocks. A slip of the tongue I'm sure but what he - as a knowledgeable music historian - obviously meant to say was that Chris Spedding produced the first Sex Pistols demo.

    I find Stewart Lee's incisive, sardonic, self-aware, politically-correct parodic monologues preternaturally imbued with meaning. By that I mean I really dig his idiot-savant Weltanschauung.

      Because the right are to blame for culture wars. They do this to divide people, sow confusion about the real issues and distract from their own failings. They are an absolute disgrace with their nasty, hateful and vindictive manipulation of emotions by targeting the vulnerable in society for their own ends.

    • @Harrier_DuBois
      @Harrier_DuBois 2 месяца назад

      Culture wars are a wedge issue that the establishement elites use to divide the working class. It is not the left pushing these ideas, the left are a lot more concerned with economics. Here is an example, Jordan Peterson, made his whole career ranting about authoritarian leftist culture wars policies that don't actually exist. Now he is a cult leader, and probably a millionaire, yet no one is forcing us to use non gendered pro-nouns, no one is forcing mixed bathrooms on us, it was all a load of hot air.

    • @Harrier_DuBois
      @Harrier_DuBois 2 месяца назад

      The reason Peterson's narrative is so pervasive is because the tech bros, who own the social media companies, also think like Peterson - or more likely they see the dollar signs. Their opinions then trickle down since they control the platforms that so many people use. Why they want us divided? Because then the rich get richer and poor get f'd.
