The sparks do match up with the alert, though, so maybe a combination of ship hitboxes being weird and a little bit of lag. On x0.25 speed you can see the left wing sparking just after it passes over the player, followed by ship under attack message & the Cobra flipping as if the left wing was caught on something So the question is if it was positional desync _(where the 2 ships are shown vs where the game thinks they are)_ or was the humans hitbox literally large enough to clip the Cobras wing

my guess is the shield bubbles scrapped each other and due to the speed it made the flying vessel take damage and spiral in to the ground.
