My 3ds screen broke like 2 years ago and I tried fixing it once but it didn’t work. I want to buy another (or a 2ds) but they are not cheap even after all this time. I’m sad I’ll never be able to play my old games again :’(
Not going to lie the Eshops closing down do make me sad. But this is why I'm a huge supporter of the emulation scene and roms because it helps us keep these titles alive in another form.
@@pppp5004 not true with it being piracy because you can legally dump the roms yourself, but the main point of emulation is game preservation and being able to enhance the experience by playing older games on better hardware

Most of the virtual consoles that they have offered have been worse than unofficial ones and have a very limited collection of games. Stop licking the boot of nintendo.
I'd love to see a collection video. I've really gotten into the 2ds/3ds realm in the last two years and collected a few. I enjoy seeing the collection of others.
The 3ds is what got me back into “heavy” gaming and I will always be grateful. I still play it from time to time, I do have to admit I’m a bit of a 🏴☠️ because second hand games here are incredibly expensive (I do own my faves physically and always go for good deals when I find them). With the eshop closing I don’t even want to think of how much more they’ll cost 😩
The 3DS still holds a soft spot in my heart. What a great system. I have an original cosmos black one and a orange orange white 2DSXL. I kept my original so when my son is old enough we can play Mario Kart 7 together. Lovely video
The 3ds is what got me back into Nintendo games. I decided to buy the new 3ds xl (the galaxy one) just to play Yo Kai Watch about a year ago. It loved it and that made me want a switch. I still play my 3ds and still buying games and discovering new games for it. Also a video on your handheld collection would be very nice to see. Have a wonderful day
I love the DS lineup. My first one was DS Lite and I don't think I ever played games much as when I had a ds. Switch has gotten me back into gaming again but hopefully I can find a good deal on a 3ds xl or 2ds xl soon. I'd love to play the older games again.

I stopped gaming for similar reasons too I started figuring out my other interests through middle and high school so I didn’t game for a long time but since I’m at the end of college, now I’ve had time to discover myself somewhat so I’m ready to get back to gaming!
since i lost my new leaf game card over 2 years ago i've been too sad to play my original 3ds :( i actually have the files backed up to my computer but i've no idea how i'd go about restoring them. i'd love to see more 3ds content from you !
This past summer I walked into a local retro game store and they were selling the same 2ds xl you have for $160 and I’ve played the thing incessantly ever since. Like you said, the cost is ridiculous right now I was lucky to get such a deal on mine
i was done with playing games until x and y came out. i bought a 2ds just for x, alpha sapphire and moon. it's the wedge, and i didn't like at 1st because it didn't fold, but i got it because it was cheaper. it's not that bad though. i keep it in a case anyway. but something like the 2ds xl is what i really had in mind back then. and yeah luigi's mansion dark moon was the 1st version i played too. and i found yokai watch at 5 and below for 5 dollars. it's okay. i like how more lighthearted it is than pokemon.

Yeah, Nintendo didn't do well on naming the exteriors of the New 3DS XL systems. I've bought the "New Black" but it looks more like a gunmetal gray finish not exactly a black exterior..
I know some might think that I am a stupid guy for selling my Switch Lite in exchange for New 3DS LL Galaxy. But in all honesty, 3DS and DS libraries are totally loaded af. I may or may not get another Switch at all, but only time can tell. I am still so inlove with my 3DS.
You held that Luigi's Mansion cartridge like you were about to morph into the Pink(Purple?) Power Ranger 🤣 I'm actually replaying Pokemon Black 2 on my 2DS currently. Its a timeless handheld and will never be fully replaced by the Switch.

Just bought a pearl white 3ds xl, wanted the new version over the old (which i own the pink version of) DS handhelds are just amazing, I still compare it to the switch continuously lol
As soon as I heard the eshop was closing I went and found a black and blue 2ds xl in box with games and a complete in box wind waker edition wii u with botw. I had the systems since launch till the switch and loved them, I had to get them again. Can't wait to get a collection going for each again lol. Great video btw, you've earned a sub!
I got my Nintendo 3DS(Flame Red) bundle with a physical copy of Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 on Sunday December 25th, 2011. I got my Nintendo 2DS XL along with a physical copy of Pokémon Ultra Moon on Monday November 20th, 2017 when I was a Senior in high school.
I just picked up one of these in purple brand new and am so happy I found the purple one lol! (Bought it from a collector who had a few of the purple one CIB new.) White and Orange looks super nice, but the purple matte is so pretty. I've started collecting things I want, also just Ordered Ever Oasis so I'm really excited to jump in once it gets here. Still have a long way to go before I finish my collection, but I'm glad I started this year over waiting. I stopped playing around the DSI and only touched a 3ds for Omega Sapphire. Safe to say I have a huge library of fun ahead of me!
I haven't played my 3ds in years, but once I heard the eshop was shutting down I figured I better get it all updated and all that. Ended up getting back into it and having a lot of fun!
this reminds me of when I bought my New Nintendo 3ds XL for exclusively just Minecraft as I bought my 3ds @ Target for like $200 back either or 3 years ago and just got Minecraft for the 3ds like 1-2 years after for around $20, which is so worth it as if you were to look up the price now, the game alone is around $40,so that's definitely a steal in my book
It'd be nice if Nintendo would start putting up some decent Eshop sales again on the lead up to the closure. I still need Ever Oasis, M&L Paper Jam, M&L Super Star Saga, and a pile of Snes games. None of these ever seem to go on sale.

Great video! I got a 2DS XL a couple of years back, before they disappeared off of Amazon. I've got a handful of games for it, like Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, Mario 3D Land and Ocarina of Time. I am really thinking of getting Majora's Mask before it's either impossible to find or too expensive. It's $50 here! I just spent $73 on Ever Oasis, which I'm kicking myself over because it was far less a couple of years back when I was first shopping for 3DS/2DS games. Oh well lol, I hear it's a great game!
I just got a 3DS last year to play some of the previous Fire Emblem titles (haven't gotten around to it YET...amazing how my backlog just keeps growing lol) I'd love if you could do a rec list of 3DS games! It's easy enough to get preowned games here in the UK (at least the ones I've looked for so far) but if there are specific titles I can't find I'll definitely be getting them from the estore before it closes.

I upgraded to a used new 2dsxl from the original mainly for the amiibo reader and snes VC access. I've had it for a few years and it works fine. I don't mind the muffled audio but some people may.

I wouldn’t be too worried about the eshop closing. There’ll always be some small town with a not-so-busy second-hand game store that sells them cheaper than you’d expect. You might have to drive far for it, but I can still manage to find SNES games. I don’t own a 3DS or a 2DS, but I’m planning to get one (of either, though, probably a 3DS)
Yo-Kai Watch is sooooo underrated here in the west. I think Level-5 closed their western offices, so I don't know if the 4th game will get localized for the switch. :( I'd love to see your 3ds collection in a video though!

I’ve been enjoying Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Pokémon Y, Moon, and SoulSilver (games he sent me) and TLoZ: Ocarina of Time (a game I purchased for myself). Now I just want Majora’s Mask, A Link Between Worlds and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney before the eshop closes.
I remember when the first 3DS came out. I already had a Nintendo DSi, but I convinced my parents to buy me a blue/black 3DS. I still have the DSi and a 2DS, but the 3DS got sold by my brother😭😭. Before the DSi, i had the original DS in pink but a friend broke it. I used to have a Game Cube and the Nintendo 64 console…..but again……SOLD BY MY BROTHERS! I would’ve kept all of them if it was up to me. I’ve always owned Nintendo consoles and they are just awesome.
You bought it right before Nintendo is closing the eshop but don’t expect discounts on the eshop only the Switch has discounts you’ll be paying full drive for every game
I would love to see your collection of 3DS games. I came back to gaming in 2019 and got myself a New 2DS XL. Since then I have built my collection of physical games and I pretty much have all the games I want, but I'm curious to see if you have games I don't know about and might like.
Might I suggest getting some GBC games on the VC? They have Legend of the River King 1 and 2. Great fishing RPG's. And they have Mario Tennis and Mario Golf, also unconventional RPG's. I love these types of games!
Back in 2017 I got the black and blue version of the 2DS XL and after four years (in 2021) it just broke down :( So I upgraded to a 3Ds XL so hopefully it will last a lot longer. But I had so much memories with my 2DS XL and it was very sad :(

I was bummed when they announced that the eshop for the 3ds was closing, as I had JUST made my order for the 2ds (bought it from another country so it's taking a bit of time to get here). I get that they need to close it eventually, but they discontinued the 3ds-series in september 2020 so it feels a bit too early to close it now.
2020 I was debating on buying the switch or 2dsxl. But I decided to buy the 2dsxl and it was amazing! I love all the games. Even though the games are kinda old it’s amazing. Then a year late I got my switch
I suggest Dark Void Zero DSIWARE. Link's Awakening DX Gameboy Color is great too. Try Legend of the River King series and Harvest Moon series too. If you get a Pow Kiddy V90 I suggest you take Legend of the River King 2 and run it through the gameboy ROM Analyzer for Windows and change the cartridge type to 1EH and fix the header. It will rumble on the intro if you did it right. Great game. Check it out!!!
i got back into playing 3ds games as well, i had my old blue 3ds (the original shiny looking one), got custom firmware running on it and i've been loving it. just gotta get a replacement battery, it dies fairly early into a gaming session lol
I bought a New Nintendo 3ds xl recently after getting a Nintendo DSi earlier this year. I know I’m late to the party for both, but I’m still loving the DSi. Both are great, but the 3ds xl version is a bit too beefy for me for long Game play (anything more than half an hour) and I actually prefer the DSi in terms of comfortability. I’m hoping to sell the xl and buy a smaller 3ds, as there are some great games to be had. The 2ds xl crossed my mind, but the 3D gimmick is too appealing for me (even though I usually turn it off after 30 mins).
I took out my WiiU out of the storage and started to re download all of my purchase games and I'll start buying allot of great gems from the eShop , I'll hunt for a New3DSxl or New2dsxl and get all of my games out of the servers for me to keep. I invested way too much money for all them games to go away
I just spent nearly $400 alone on a Japanese 3DS LL just for love plus alone but there are other great RPGs I can get for immersion practice that will never be released in English. It's worth it since I hate the Gacha scene right now and would rather play console games again. 3DS era is a missed generation of my childhood.
Pokemon X&Y were my best 3Ds memories!!! I am actually still playing Pokemon X to this day, and have several DS systems myself. Will never part with them!

The 3DS is my all time favorite handheld. So much charm and fun you can’t find anywhere else. I hope the next Switch can be used like a WiiU.

You would have to have a hacked system, and use Checkpoint to put the old gardenplus.dat file into a new copy

Great video! I got a 2DS XL a couple of years back, before they disappeared off of Amazon. I've got a handful of games for it, like Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, Mario 3D Land and Ocarina of Time. I am really thinking of getting Majora's Mask before it's either impossible to find or too expensive. It's $50 here! I just spent $73 on Ever Oasis, which I'm kicking myself over because it was far less a couple of years back when I was first shopping for 3DS/2DS games. Oh well lol, I hear it's a great game!
I just got a 3DS last year to play some of the previous Fire Emblem titles (haven't gotten around to it YET...amazing how my backlog just keeps growing lol)

I have a Switch, 2dsxl, ds phat, a blue original 3ds, and a pink original 3ds (yes, I have a problem I'm aware 😄). I play my pink 3ds every day (mostly acnl & acww). I love it sm!
I upgraded to a used new 2dsxl from the original mainly for the amiibo reader and snes VC access. I've had it for a few years and it works fine. I don't mind the muffled audio but some people may.

I wouldn’t be too worried about the eshop closing. There’ll always be some small town with a not-so-busy second-hand game store that sells them cheaper than you’d expect. You might have to drive far for it, but I can still manage to find SNES games.
I don’t own a 3DS or a 2DS, but I’m planning to get one (of either, though, probably a 3DS)

Just bought the Wii U for $160 from the pawn shop and the metallic ds lite from Buyee for $36 (thanks for the coupon) ☺️. I want to get the New Nintendo 3ds XL but the prices are ridiculous! $250 and above. I have the exact 2ds but my nephew broke the screen! 😭

Last month a friend sent me his old 3DS and games for free, which coincidentally happened to be the same model as my broken one. I’ve been enjoying Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Pokémon Y, Moon, and SoulSilver (games he sent me) and TLoZ: Ocarina of Time (a game I purchased for myself). Now I just want Majora’s Mask, A Link Between Worlds and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney before the eshop closes.

I remember when the first 3DS came out. I already had a Nintendo DSi, but I convinced my parents to buy me a blue/black 3DS. I still have the DSi and a 2DS, but the 3DS got sold by my brother😭😭. Before the DSi, i had the original DS in pink but a friend broke it. I used to have a Game Cube and the Nintendo 64 console…..but again……SOLD BY MY BROTHERS! I would’ve kept all of them if it was up to me.

Might I suggest getting some GBC games on the VC? They have Legend of the River King 1 and 2. Great fishing RPG's. And they have Mario Tennis and Mario Golf, also unconventional RPG's. I love these types of games!
Back in 2017 I got the black and blue version of the 2DS XL and after four years (in 2021) it just broke down :( So I upgraded to a 3Ds XL so hopefully it will last a lot longer. But I had so much memories with my 2DS XL and it was very sad :(
I literally just bought a 2ds XL too, it's coming in tomorrow, but the white and lavender one. So this video has such a good timing that's it's almost a bit creepy 😂
I was bummed when they announced that the eshop for the 3ds was closing, as I had JUST made my order for the 2ds (bought it from another country so it's taking a bit of time to get here). I get that they need to close it eventually, but they discontinued the 3ds-series in september 2020 so it feels a bit too early to close it now.

2020 I was debating on buying the switch or 2dsxl. But I decided to buy the 2dsxl and it was amazing! I love all the games. Even though the games are kinda old it’s amazing. Then a year late I got my switch
I suggest Dark Void Zero DSIWARE. Link's Awakening DX Gameboy Color is great too. Try Legend of the River King series and Harvest Moon series too. If you get a Pow Kiddy V90 I suggest you take Legend of the River King 2 and run it through the gameboy ROM Analyzer for Windows and change the cartridge type to 1EH and fix the header. It will rumble on the intro if you did it right. Great game. Check it out!!!
i got back into playing 3ds games as well, i had my old blue 3ds (the original shiny looking one), got custom firmware running on it and i've been loving it. just gotta get a replacement battery, it dies fairly early into a gaming session lol

I bought a New Nintendo 3ds xl recently after getting a Nintendo DSi earlier this year. I know I’m late to the party for both, but I’m still loving the DSi. Both are great, but the 3ds xl version is a bit too beefy for me for long Game play (anything more than half an hour) and I actually prefer the DSi in terms of comfortability. I’m hoping to sell the xl and buy a smaller 3ds, as there are some great games to be had. The 2ds xl crossed my mind, but the 3D gimmick is too appealing for me (even though I usually turn it off after 30 mins).

The upside of the eshop closing is its now completely ok to mod your devices

I took out my WiiU out of the storage and started to re download all of my purchase games and I'll start buying allot of great gems from the eShop , I'll hunt for a New3DSxl or New2dsxl and get all of my games out of the servers for me to keep. I invested way too much money for all them games to go away
I just spent nearly $400 alone on a Japanese 3DS LL just for love plus alone but there are other great RPGs I can get for immersion practice that will never be released in English. It's worth it since I hate the Gacha scene right now and would rather play console games again. 3DS era is a missed generation of my childhood.

it's funny because my story is kinda the opposite of yours. i had every handheld up to the first 3DS until I had to sell it to afford *one* single textbook in college. it's a scam I tell ya lol but I was kinda getting out of gaming at the time as I felt like it was one of the things holding me back in school and like getting my first girlfriend. but then i got married! and i bought the 2DS XL and my wife ended up playing it more than me lmao I don't know what they put in that Animal Crossing but she was so addicted lol
