Morning Walk Down the Streets Near my Hotel in the Philippines

This was my first morning walk since arriving in the Philippines two weeks earlier. It was too damn hot to walk outdoors! But this morning, when I opened the sliding doors to the 6th floor balcony of my room at the brand new Clover Hotel located on Friendship Highway, Pampanga Philippines, I could feel cooler air since the previous mornings. So, I decided to go for a long overdue walk. I took the elevator down to the lobby, exited the hotel and went to the right, heading down a paved street that led me past an old, abandoned still under-construction hotel, an international language school, and vacant, overgrown lots. After walking about 1.25 miles, my face wet with sweat, I returned to the hotel, walked up the staircase to the 7th floor rooftop, then back down one flight of stairs to the 6th floor and into my room to cool off.
