We have similar tastes. And Fern gets me hooked on plants too.
Fern got me too lol i have an outer var poly and it brings me such joy! But i saw her last video and she has the green one and i went and got one yesterday. Such a beautiful plants! Also might cop that Helen Kennedy!
Calathea are my favorite as well. Most of my collection are Calathea and I have a lot; Helen Kennedy, makoyana, medallion, dottie, fasciata...you name it, I probably have it. Helen Kennedy is divine. The leaves are pretty thick and almost rubbery, like the fasciata, and amazingly resilient to pests, in my experience. I have been struggling with thrips and spider mites for well over a year, since I have a very large collection, but Helen Kennedy has escaped unscathed, to this point. You cannot go wrong with Helen Kennedy. Good choice.

It is exciting that Ilsemanii are coming down to maybe getting in reach for regular people!… I ended up getting a Philodendron Emerald Ice last winter because it is also very white with green flecks. I thought it would be a LONG time before Ilsemanii was anywhere near affordable. I’m trying not to buy a lot at the moment as I am running out of space. But my two most desired plants would definitely be Ilsemanii and variegated Philodendron Atabapoense.
If you can see Hoya polyneura inner variegated in person, imo it has a gorgeous leaf. Cream, minty green and dark green. Beautiful. I absolutely love it, that’s the one I chose to buy first. My next choice would be all green. In Canada inner variegated is still pricey for a barely rooted cutting but was well worth. Thanks once again for your content. Always appreciated 🪴
I have the outer var. but I desperately want the inner var. too!! They're just WAY too expensive still for the size and quality of cuttings that I've seen available here in Canada 😅 maybe someday lol
@ just a little fyi, if you can find a nice cutting or barely rooted, they do root quickly and they’re good growers. Good luck
There’s also a silver, a silver splash (Broget) and outer-variegated splash of the polyneuras available. My silver is doing amazingly, it is just stunning.
And the wishlist gets longer lol

Happy New Year😀 my plant wish is getting through my first winter into spring and finding my plants are still alive.😂 I am the same way, they need to give me a gift or gift card or I too will pay bills with it.. Hope you find your wish list plants.
My hoya polyneura was much bigger than Fern's a long time ago ,it was growing like a weed and I had to chop it at some point...still a huge, gorgeous hoya💚 Tequila Sunrise is awesome when sun-stressed🧡🤎.
It struck me while watching this video that some of the darker plants with maroony-red vibes remind me of your hair color - which is super cool!
Calathea’s are also my favorite😍 I’ve never seen the Helen Kennedy. It is 100% on my wishlist now!
Most of my wishlist is just "dark anthuriums" and "silvery hoyas" 😂💚

I hope you get your wish list plants. I got an order of hoyas in from Ontario (I'm Canadian), this week, plus I bought about a dozen hoyas locally in Nova Scotia from a couple of people who are reducing their plant collections, and along with the 150 or so others... I'm at peak hoya. Currently three species/cv blooming, H. retusa, H. Bella, and H. lacunosa (think it's straight species).
There are at least five cultivars of H. polyneura. I have... three, but just small ones.
Oh, and H. compacta Oblak is currently 2,800 bucks.
Oh no, now I’m going to have to google the other poly varieties not on my wishlist (and probably end up adding them to my wish list lol)
Hoya Pachyclada was renamed to Subquintuplinervis. For some reason, I think it's a little easier to find photos of both of the variegated varieties when you google the new name and the green variety when you use the old name. 🤷♀ I have both the inner and the outer variegated plants. I tend to like inner variegation more, but the outer variegated one is particularly pretty with that plant. Kevin (Hakunalaplanta) and (I think) Fern both have Hellwigiana. I believe they both got them from Crystal Star Nurseries. I got one from UPT several months ago. It is totally on the struggle bus for me. I am trying to re-root it, but haven't been successful so far. I went on a white-veined-hoya bender for awhile there, so I'm debating if I'd replace it if it doesn't make it. But then I see Kevin's and feel pretty certain that I will . . . possibly from Crystal Star if I can. For my wish list, top three are Doc Block 'Michelle,' Hoya 'Rhiannon,' and the inner variegated Hoya Mathilde. (Dis)honorable mention: I will try to get a Hoya Nova Ghost to replace the cutting that I rotted a few months ago.
I bought a stunning P. ilsemanii from RPF. It melted in my tent in less than a month. $750 down the drain. I’ll buy another if they get down to $50 but the experience left a very bitter taste in my mouth.

I have helen kennedy. I collect calathea, too. I want a cynthia. I started out collecting calatheas, and they stuck with me.

Yeah...don't watch Fern unless you want to develop an appreciation for hoya. I'm running out of room, but I can feel myself teetering on the edge of the hoya rabbit hole. Lol

The name "Oblak" sounds very slavic to me. If that is the case (in Bulgarian "oblak" means "cloud", kind of fitting, when you look at the plant) then you pronounce it with the emphasis on "O". Of cource I might be wrong, I don't know the origins of the plant.
I feel like the dotties were big in like 2022
There was another one that was pinkish like that a few years back, but it had more pink on it, and I can’t remember what it is called
