Fantastic restoration photos! I love it when someone has the resources to do a proper job on a historic racer. These cars had a rough life in the DTM Series. This shows just how bad they were treated during their racing careers. Thank you to who ever owns this car to bring her back to her top racing form!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Looking at other enthusiasts comments we are pretty much all blown away with this COMPLETE!!! Rebuild. I can’t find words to describe how much of a wonderful build your team has created. Well Done 👍
What a job! Nils Eirik Wenaas is not leaving one nut to coinsidence here. I almost cried when the finished car came on screen, even if I have seen it in real life earlier. Just fantastic, and what a save from just sitting in some shed until being bought by someone who was not prepared to go all the way, like Nils Eirik did.
Jürgen Engelhardt I. I know what you mean. I owned an 88 M3 and put over 100,000 miles on it. Great car, best sports car I ever owned but maintenance was frequent and expensive. I foolishly traded it in on another car and almost instantly regretted it. I would get another if their values hadn’t skyrocketed to where they are today. In 1994 I paid $12,000 for it. Pristine condition,75,000 highway miles, dark metallic grey with the Cardinal Red interior. Beautiful car.
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow WHEN BMW FANATICS DREAMS CAME THRU ! my super Compliment amazing job ...that only car restaurateurs like us can understand. ...how many hours of hard work is this project ?
I own a pretty tidy example of an e30 325i. BUT!!! watching this video of your total rebuild it’s absolutely amazing! If you were the person who took the video congratulations you did an amazing job. I’m an old man now, I have been lucky enough to work in the Motorsport industry at it’s highest level as an engine builder, but I continually growl at myself for not purchasing an immaculate 2.5lL RHD e30 m3, red with black Connolly leather interior back in 1997. You probably gathered I’m from somewhere where you drive on the correct side of the road!!! 👍😂 Some of the components that have gone into your M3 are beautiful, are they refurbished or new? I,m not sure how I could contact you but I would love to come & see your magnificent Jagermeister e30 m3 if possible.👍 Nic.

Damn, what a beautiful car and restoration. How can one obtain all those rare parts ? Are all of them still available in Germany ? Id rather have this than any modern Super,Exotic or Hypercar ! Unreal level of detail and not that I know much about them Authenticity ? The workmanship is just bonkers, I luv it! I have always wondered what happened to the Old DTM cars from the 80s & 90s. Glad to know they are being preserved and kept alive.
am wondering how much such a restoration cost ! AMAZING AMAZING , I Own a porsche 996 turbo 420 hp and I just bough an E30 325i touring and i cant wait to start our poor restoration :D -
how did you remove all the wiring harnesses? but this is complicated to put them back. my car wires have hardened over time and some of them are badly cut by stereo installers. is it possible to get a full NEW set of wiring harness? is it easy to install these mess?
the car was a legend as is ... why not leave it alone and let the history and sense of smell from races there . you restore a car and made another with zero history to it like a new car .
The car was in very rough shape when Nils Erik Wenaas found it. Painted over several times, sitting in a field. I think he did a great job restoring it to working condition, now he can race it and let other people enjoy how the E30 M3 DTM cars were back in the day!
its perfection but... just A BUT!!! why ppl always do clean project like this and they put a S14 when you can upgrade to a S54, a S65 or a S85 availaible... can someone clear me on that please?

While I love seeing these vehicles brought back to their original look, this is not a restoration, it's a rebuild. There is probably only 25% of the orange car at the start compared to the one at the end. Restoring means repairing as much of the original vehicle, not replacing every panel and other parts. It's almost a brand new car, a replica almost. You cannot then say "I'm driving the same car I did in'92" Don't get me wrong, this is brilliant work but it not the same car. Too many videos like this stating restoration of an original car. It's not.

Wow. This is far beyond perfection! Ultimate restoration, the car deserves it.

This is so f---ing cool! I am glad this original e30 got the restoration it needed. A historic car... and iconic car too. Well done!
E30 is a timeless design.
Priceless masterpiece.
This is godlike!!!! I'm speechless…
Did I get that right, this was the real DTM car?!
Yes! This was an original DTM chassis, number 0024.

Respect for this awesome work. Nice to see the Jägerbaby back on track :)
Not a BMW fun but E30 M3 is probably the best looking BMW ever. My personal opinion of course. I would love to have of this beautys.
Superb restoration.....the way a car of this historical value should be restored.
Der E30 M3 ist einfach unsterblich.....great work !
We own a Jägermeister tribute BMW 325I E30 trackcar, but this is on another level.... how beautiful
Stunning car. I followed some of the build while I was building my own sacrilegious version. It's great to see it all together now 😎
Nostalgia, ultra.

Perfect restoration !!!But the E30 M3 DTM had no ABS while running in DTM, it was not allowed. ABS was allowed first in DTM 1994.
HI, you are wrong! ABS Was allowed from 1991!
Ein absoluter Traum!!!!
Love the content... Love the work...Love the livery.. Hate the music.. Mute the sound essential to get the best from it... LOL. Just excellent

Can you tell me the place where the Motorsport Chassis serial number plate is please ?

Does the layout of the late group A diff cover relate to the Z3M and is the diff casting itself really aluminum?

Yes it is possible to get a new wiring harness, you can even customize it to your needs although it is pretty costly!
Where did you get all the original Gr A parts from? Did you restore everything that came in/with the car?
Bucket list for my next life.
Are the doors still steel?
Where did you get the rear quarters from
I will have one E30 M3. I will have one.
Just out of curiosity, how much of this car is original? From the pictures, it looks like there are a LOT of replacement parts in it.
Yes there are a lot of replacement parts because the car is used in racing, mainly historic racing events I think but it still has to perform.
