Just got mine in black and got a 357 and 44 barrel to go with it. Only cost me 3 months of eating pb and j.
Love to get one myself, but it'd cost me my house.
I got the old style mark VII .44 mag made by IMI . The only conversion back then was .41 mag (which I didn't buy). I bought it new around 1994 for about 750 bucks and ate a lot of rice and ramen, and drove a rusty old Mazda pickup but it was worth it!
The timing of this video couldn't be better. I was just about to do a stunt where I stop a 50 round with a book! Now my Desert Eagle will be nice and shiny for my cool video!
Good job on the video.I polished my slide rails and run the gun pretty wet and it's proven extremely reliable. It is a gun that gets very dirty and does require a cleaning like this after every shoot
Dude, you're the gift that keeps on giving. Thanks again, brother.
Great vid, I've watched it twice in a couple of years. The old saying take care of it, it takes care of you. Being an Army vet I am well versed in the gas system of the AR-15 ( M16) and know that cleaning is essential to good operation and this gas system is no different in a must of keeping it cleaned and lubed.
I have the Bronze finish as I have always liked Earth tones. My wish list is to get Black Tiger stripes finish on my next one.
thanks
Just got to try mine today for the first time today. I used your video to make sure it was good to go.
The thing gets dirty real fast! Works flawlessly though. The shells are ejected real hard...don't want to stand behind it! lol
It was lubed with grease. I went with oil to see what I would prefer.
The grease lets it lubed longer but gets much more dirty.
I think I will stick to oil with more frequent lubing.
great video i put about 600 rounds through mine right out the box without any cleans inbetween befor i started having any issues. i now cleaned it and its back to running flawlessley.
@Mrgunsngear Channel:
Funny thing man, whenever I take my .44 Magnum Desert Eagle out to the range, I laugh whenever the other shooters there take notice of the super-loud firing and begin asking me what i'm firing it. Stuff never gets old dude!!!
In fact, while at the range yesterday afternoon (as the one I went to allows anyone to bring in their own ammunition, which is cool in my eyes), a couple of people was taking notice and jokingly asking me "what the hell are you firing?", and I tell them a Desert Eagle chambered in .44 Magnum. And what made the entire experience funnier than it should've been, is that a couple of them actually moved away from me to lanes further down from me, due to how loud they fire.
That's a beautiful piece.
Rockin' the Mk. VII, love it. Just got the .41mag conversion kit for my .44mag Mk. VII; can't wait to try the rounds side by side.
It is a very nice piece with all respect.Thank you for being understanding....
After a year of looking at the beast on a table at my local rental range, I finally decided to blast off a few rounds with a Desert Eagle. Soooo much fun! Recoil is not nearly as bad as one might thing. I think it may have helped that the grip fits my rather large hands very well. The thing just brings a smile to everyone's face!
crockett616 absolutely definitely a head turner
Just like a barrett .50 their just louder than everyone else’s guns
That was a good informative video. I have one of the first generation desert eagle 50 Cal.AE's.
I am needing to clean mine (Titanium Gold .50 ae). Good timing.
No you ain’t dude shut up

I just purchased my L5 357 Magnum and it weighs just over 49 oz. Where as my Ruger Vaquero weighs 44 oz. I was amazed at how much lighter it was than I thought it was going to be. (Thus, the reason I went with the L5) great video. Like / Subscribed.. Zaine ; )
In Southeast Asia , we can only dream about this gun :(
Great informative video. I did kinda want to see the bolt come out.
Thanks for video helpful and easygoing perspective !
Very good service! Congratulations!
Thanks bro! This was a huge help for cleaning my new Desert Eagle 50!! Shot the first time the other day 😉
Thanks; tell your friends!
Yea, your video was a lot better than the one I put out today. Thanks for sharing
@Mrgunsngear Channel:
Here's an update that you might get a big kick out of.......
during my 42nd birthday last Saturday, I finally took my aunt out to the shooting range that I go to for a bit of family fun, and my .44 Magnum Desert Eagle was the gun that I brought with me, since it was a special occasion (hence the reason why I rarely take it to the range, since ammo for it is hard to come by). And despite the both of us wearing hearing protection, my aunt said the firing sounds were so loud, she pretty much compared it to that of a shotgun blast going off.
So with that said, we actually had a pretty good time and I still laugh at how I could handle the recoil on such a big gun like that.
very nice demo.
Great video
Very helpful
I just walked right through it with you
Thank you
Just completed it. Easy to follow you. Gun is clean & ready - One more question, would you trust this firearm to carry cocked and locked?
If you’re crazy enough to carry this, then sure.
But on a serious note, Desert Eagles do NOT have a reputation for being reliable, so it’s up to you.
That thing is ginormous!
That slide sounds so gritty..
It's the tripled recoil springs. Because 3 springs are riding over top of each other, they make a gritty sound. The rails themselves are glassy smooth.
I watch video's about real steel guns, although I don't own any of these. I only have some airsoft replicas.
But, I love the Desert Eagle either way. It's amazing how the airsoft replica manufacturers accomplish an emulation of the look and feel of the real steel Deagle. The piston, the recoil springs, the slide, the frame, the safety, it's all very similar. It's the kickback that's probably not the same, although they tried to convey the feeling with the gas blowback system.
Anyway, I love my Deagle replicas to bits and dream of owning real steel ones in the future, should I ever make the switch to gun sports here in the Netherlands. It's certainly not impossible, but not as obvious as in the US. I'll have to ask around first as to what it's going to take.
Just clean my deagle while watching the video....excellent
I just used your video to clean my DE great video!
Are you have DE gun
Great video! Thanks.
Thanks. Great video.
Curious how many rounds worth of build up do your think you were cleaning?
@Mrgunsngear Channel:
speaking of Breakfree CLP, I got it in both spray form as well as Mossy Oak CLP wet wipes. Haven't tried the spray form yet, as i've only taken my .44 Magnum to the range just the one time to fire the box of 50-cartridges. But from what I can tell, the Mossy Oak CLP wipes not only cleans rather good, but also seems to polish the outside of the Desert Eagle quite nicely as well (due to the thin coating).
So with that said, hopefully some more target cartridges becomes available once more and i'll be able to provide a better comparison when using the Breakfree CLP in spray form after the next visit to the gun range.
This vid was very helpful! Thank you!
great video Mrgunsngear can you make a video on a 1912 commander Springfield?? or do you have one? I been looking and cant find one.. thanks for all your work, I love it .
Love the video . Where can I pick up that precision lube applicator with the needle tip
good job sensei!
Thanks a lot brother... really helpful👍🏾
Perfect timing for the video. Woke up read the article on the girlfriend shooting her boyfriend through a phone book with dessert eagle. Went on RUclips and oh desert eagle lol
19DESERTFOX91 post the article link
really informative thanks man!
Very helpful, and thanks...
Thanks for the video! New sub!
Good guide, thank you!
step 1. do not shoot yourself for RUclips views
MIKE U.S.N. step 2. Books are not suitable replacements for Kevlar
MIKE U.S.N. step 3 sell for more useful firearm
Step 5 if you're thinking it's a bad idea don't worry about it it's just like it is in the movie's, plus you know how many views you will get.
I noticed you didnt oil the finish after cleaning... Should you put a thin coat on the outside to inhibit rust prior to storage?
.45cal jag would work great with the patches
Just bought a .50AE today 🙂
If I ever see my Drill Sergeant again, I'm going to drop my DEagle n his foot!
Very informative -- thanks! What kind of cloth do you use at the very end? I have the hardest time getting why chrome all shiny after cleaning...
If cleaning with a product like remi lube can you also use that as the oil for the wear points or a pure oil is better for final lube?
Well done instruction. Thanks. Maybe a video showing people different things that do not stop handguns rounds. Obviously not common knowledge. Think of it as a public service.
What do you do when the barrel takedown lever will not budge move at all the button works but no movement on the takedown lever? Cant even clean the gun.
Thx. Good video
Let's say you cleaned and lubed any one of your pistol then you put it back in your safe then the next time you are ready to take out to the range do you take it like it is or do you do another slight lube job
generally no but it's time dependent
Mrgunsngear Channel what would the longest you leave in the safe before giving it another lube job before firing
which is better? Kahr or IMI magnum research?
Do a how to on the sig p320 please
Considering this is all steel, would it just be easier and faster to spray it down with brake cleaner, blow it out with air and then lube it up?
Thats what I do and I'm still having problems sending mine back to magnum research 😢
What are the parts they recommend replacing after about 1500 rounds? I like using grease where I can on gun parts especially the rails and where there is a lot of contact and wear. Grease doesn't run off the parts over time from gravity and stays on the parts better.
what lunatic shot 1500 rounds of .50 AE in this economy? just getting a box of 20 for $2 or under a round is a pain
@@tylernicoll6911 Desert Eagle 50 AE has been around for years prior to the crap economy we have now so some people have racked up that many rounds already.
@@robertdaone lucky you man wish i was able to get mine pre pandemic
good shit, thank you
You're welcome 👍🏽
Wow, when did you record this?
Was wondering, besides oil to clean the desert eagles, is there some type of grease to also use, after 3 to 4 shots the gun jams, So i have heard about greasing the slide since it could be to dry, any thoughts on that? Great video to, wanted the silver plated but Upstate NY only allows the Desert Eagle L5 in Black and because they are under 50oz.
Are you feeding it the correct type and grain? It _really_ makes or breaks the shooting experience. I have the .44 (for now, since local ranges don't allow bigger calibers) and NEED to shoot 240 grain semi-jacket or full otherwise it won't cycle properly and I have to manually eject the spent shell. The slide will sometimes only come back like 90% of the way and a reset is necessary. I experimented with a box of "Cowboy" loads because the shop I buy from NEVER has ammo anyone wants so I learned the hard way. For .50AE you need no less than 300 grain else the gun will malfunction. Pair it with the 'push/pull method' and you'll be good. Oiling the slide is ideal for any gun. There's a lot of friction and heat going on in our firearms.
@@DareToBeDeviant I have the mark VII IMI .44 mag. I tried some 300 grain plated bullets and it fired fine, but it bulged the brass so bad I could not safely reload the brass (what a waste). Stick with 240 grain for the .44 mag.
Just got a stupid question since Im a noob. How long between cleaning there should be ?
I mean I know it depends on how many times you use it. But around about time between cleans :).... Thanks.
it still depends on how often you shoot, if not often then just try to remember to do it once in a while, like a few months should do. but if you shoot a lot then just do it every couple range trips (the specifics will depend on how many you make in a certain amount of time)
@@StevenL00 Okay thanks :)
just saw your ak vid - any ideas on ak74 drum
Niiiice timing on the video release... matches up people searching for a Desert Eagle .50 cal after that guy had his girlfriend shoot him through a book with one the other day and he died. Was that planned or was it just random?
koiphish i was thinking the same thing
Random, I'm sure. He did a review of this pistol several days before the shooting and this is just a follow-up video.
koiphish I'm sure it's random. I can't see him trying to benefit from something like that. He's a decent person
She probably won't need this vid for a while. 🤣
And like this pulp fiction devine intervention?
I can use hoppes and rem oil on desert eagles?
another trick I have learned is that (make-up q-tips) work even better (with any firearm) because they hold together somewhat stronger than the normal q-tips. If you don't know what im talking about just ask your GF she will know right off the bat what these are. Your welcome!
If only I had a girlfriend...
If you dont have any patches, you can use a queen sized comforter in this bigass bore.
Does it have to be any different for the titanium gold finish?
nope, same process/materials
the dissasembly works an looks almost excacly like my airsoft dessert eagle.
Great detailed video as usual. I’m all about choice and I’m glad we have options but this confirmed my opinion that the Deagle is a stupid handgun and I don’t want one.
How to control muzzle flip of a desert eagpe 50ae
Get one with built in muzzle brake.
Good vid but his voice made it hard to understand
what do you think about sightmarks lo pro green laser
never used it
Mrgunsngear Channel thx for taking time to reply!! means a lot!!
Is shooting lead out of the DE a no no?
I don't know
Don't shoot lead bullets in a Desert Eagle. Even gas check bullets not recommended. The lead can plug the gas channel and turn it in to a single shot. Will have to send back to factory to get unclogged. Not worth it. Just shoot jacketed bullets.
Only if it’s jacketed.
👌🏽
How come nobody buys these in any other caliber? I've seen IMI advertise them with barrels in .41 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .357 Magnum and even .45 ACP. And they are all cheaper to operate than .50.
does Israel Military Industries still make the Israeli version of the Desert Eagle? And if so, how much are they going for??
I ask this question, is because I've heard the IMI Desert Eagle runs a bit better than the Magnum Research variants and doesn't jam as often (if ever) when firing it, and is more combat-ready
Go big, or go home. ...but seriously you can buy tons of other guns in those calibers but very limited on .50AE guns. So most people are buying it for the caliber ( bragging rights of the size) not for the actual look of the gun.
I personally like the look & size.
As mentioned, it's because this is one of the few guns that can shoot the 50AE.
but will it go through a book?
I got it dirty again already :(
shocker!
I love my desert eagle but yea, it is a pain to clean
is this round less or more powerful than 500 magnum?
Ping Pong lets set up some encyclopedias and find out.
As far as I know it's less powerful compared to a 500sw magnum. The 50ae puts out around 1450-1600ft lbs of energy using the normal 6" length barrel in the desert eagle .50ae. The 500sw magnum on the other hand using a similar length 6 1/2" barrel is able to achieve somewhere in the range of 903-2282ft lbs of energy. Those numbers are based off of manufactured ammo and not hand loads.
500 mag is definitely more powerful. I have both and depending on what you shoot, the 500 will make the DE feel like a 22 if you shoot them in the same outing.
Milsurp Mike Thanks for clearing any confusion up with an actual first hand experience. I personally appreciate it.
Not to do a shameless plug, but I just took my Model 29 out with my DE and 500 to get a good feel of them vs. each other. I already put a video up on the 29, and will put one up on the 500 when I hit 500 subs (which I hope is soon). I will also turn the DE footage into a video within the next month.
My new L5 44mag fails to go into battery every magazine. Shoot 240 and up grain, semi jacket rounds. Lubed up well. No limp wristing and it never fails to fail each and every couple rounds.
Savage, love it!!!
I thought u had to remove the bolt to lubricate it properly..you did not...
Indeed
You can hear the grit
Can u sell it to me
I’ve never owned a gun and the main reason is I always get nervous at the thought of field-stripping them and not being able to put it back together again
Wear gloves. All the powder residue, chemicals from products and lead isn't good for you.
so shiny, id be afraid to shoot it
i thought this was airsoft lmao
Recoil is nasty..
YEAH Q TIPS lmfao

Did he shoot the dog? 🤪
