    • @martenkahr3365
      @martenkahr3365 3 года назад +60

      And them being mushrooms is the secret to why nobody has managed to wipe them out despite them being as ancient as the Eldar and the Necrons. When Orks die, they release a whole bunch of spores that are really hard to completely wipe out, and those spores eventually grow into Orks again. Some old lore that might be retconned by now suggested that Orks might be a bioweapon the Old Ones were creating against the Necrons, but the Old Ones died before they could install the off-switch for them, and they went rampant from there.

    So in the past during the war in heaven, the Old Ones refused the Necrontyr immortality because they didnt like how violent the Necrontyr were. The first stage of the war is the Necrontyr getting their faces stomped by the Old Ones, then they make the Bargain with the C'tan and the second phase begins where they begin to fight the Old Ones equally and then begin to decimate them. Among other races, the Old Ones make the Eldar and Krorks. As the old ones die off, the Eldar birth an entire pantheon of gods into existence and begin to fight back and beat back the Necrons as the C'tan are too busy fighting over their spoils of war, the Necrons rise up and after they win they realise that unless they sleep, the Eldar will wipe them out. So they sleep for 60 millions years, in that time the Eldar rise to dominate the galaxy for millions of years which is when they grow complacent and only in the last 20,000 years was it when the Aeldari Empire collapsed with the Birth of SLaanesh, not that long ago all things considered

    • @Brutalyte616
      @Brutalyte616 3 года назад +17

      Actually it's not just about the Necron'tyr being a violent lesser race to the Old Ones. The Old Ones were sympathetic to their plight, and even if they could not in good conscience offer them immortality, they at the very least had the technology to undo the damage to their DNA caused by the solar radiation on their homeworld and ease their suffering, but they chose not to help them because the Old Ones were naturalists and regarded the Necron'tyr as a unique form of life that should not be tampered with, even if it lead to their race suffering. Naturally, the Necron'tyr did not take too kindly to this and THAT is when they declared war and earned the ire of the Old Ones.

    • @MrHeiska01
      @MrHeiska01 3 года назад +3

      There is also a chance that Old Ones were just scared of Necrontyr because they were already technology wise more advanced than Old Ones.
      Immortal Necrontyr could completely outclass Old Onrs even without Warp powers.

    • @Brutalyte616
      @Brutalyte616 3 года назад +7

      @@MrHeiska01 No. The Necron'tyr still hadn't figured out how to achieve FTL travel, and they certainly didn't have the technology to cure their condition, but the Old Ones did, and they vastly outclassed the Necron'tyr, driving them back and confining them to their home system. It was only after the Necron'tyr discovered the C'tan that their technological development spiked, and that was by virtue of having almost limitless power, space magic, and being turned into machines and having _thousands_ of years to develop weapons in a never-ending arms race against the Old Ones, Krork, the Aeldari, any other miscellaneous races the Old Ones created, and eventually the C'tan, without the burden of rest, sustenance, or even death to distract them. And even then, at their apex, the Necrons themselves still weren't quite on the level of the Old Ones, and only succeeded through sheer undying determination and the power of living gods who could warp the fabric of space and time on a whim.

    • @MrHeiska01
      @MrHeiska01 3 года назад +3

      @@Brutalyte616 Thats why I said in technology wise. What Necrontyr lacked was psykers and anything thing warp related.
      Necrontyr could not fix their condition because it wasnt related to biology, technology or anything else in science.
      However Necrontyr technology itself was better than Old Ones. Their ships had better defences, better weaponry and better everything else. But because they lacked Psykers they could not use Warp for FTL or adjust their technology to abuse Warp based powers.
      Old Ones easily outmanuvered even deadliest Necrontyr ships and weaponry with webways.
      That is also the reason why Necrons did beat Old Ones and even Ctan. Necron technology improved with Ctans help that they could break in the webway without Psykers and removed only advantage that Old Ones had.
      Current Necrons can still use webways without Psykers and can even just warp out of battlefield. All this is pure technology.

    There is a funny relationship between the orks and their sort of nemesis, Commissar Yarric from the imperial guard. He has earned sort of a revered status amongst the orks because he always puts up a good fight and they keep saying that he just can't die. Ultimatly, Yarric haven't been defeated yet and he is more than 150 years old. So there is a theory that the ork willpower/imagination is keeping Yarric alive.

  • @JesperoTV
    @JesperoTV 3 года назад +82

    I think it's important to mention that, as the Eldar and Orks were created by the Old Ones, they are basically maximized for fighting power. Eldar were created as psychic masterminds, and Orks as brutish, strong, ultra violent mushrooms that feel no pain, have subconcious psychic power to make tech work by just collective imagination, and if they die, they leave spores behind to spawn another wave of greenskins.

He's basically just a big history nerd and uses his Necron worlds to store random historical artifacts and literal people kept in permanent stasis in big war re-enactments like wax dummies. Trazyn is the definition of chaotic neutral since he'll help almost any faction to preserve something he deems important. Still the best part of Trazyn is this letter to Inquisitor Valeria after she sent some troops to steal from Trazyn:
      Dear Lady, let me express my fulsome appreciation for your most generous gift. It is so very rare to discover another of my own kind that appreciates my work, therefore to find understanding amongst a member of another race is nothing short of a revelation. I realise that you briefly trod my galleries, but the fact that you spotted in so short a time that my Acabrius War collection was lacking three regiments of Catachan warriors reveals that you truly have a collector's eye for detail. And to send five regiments! Such generosity will allow me to weed out and replace a few of the more substandard pieces in my collection. If I might level a minor criticism, the instructions issued to your gift were manifestly not as clear as you thought, as most of them had to be forcibly restrained. Sadly it seems that the lower orders will always behave like an army of invasion, whether that be their purpose or not. However, this is a minor complaint and seems almost churlish under the circumstances, so please allow me to repay your gift with one of my own. Accompanying this message is the Hyperstone Maze, one of a series of Tesseract Labyrinths constructed at the height of the Charnovokh Dynasty. It is a trinket really, only of interest to scholars such as you and I, but I trust you will find it amusing; assuming you have the wit to escape its clutches, of course.

    Bricky is sort of underselling the Necrons. In the universe full of Op they blow every other faction out of the water. To start with, unlike almost every other faction in 40k, Necrons are STILL advancing in technology, there is a dude mucking about with time travel, other tries making necron-human hybrids, some other one just tries to become a straight up C'tan, you know, the usual. Also, they have this thing calle the Celestial Orrery, which is a machine that can blow up any star in the galaxy no strings attached. The only reason thay didn't blow up Terra is cause the dudes running it treat the galaxy as their own personal Bonsai Tree.

    The Orks are absolutely awesome. There's the story of Warboss Tuska Demonkilla for example, his spaceship was invaded by Chaos Demons when he was travelling through the Warp. They had a long, bloody fight and managed to beat the Chaos Demons back. For us puny hoomans, something like this would have been a horrible, traumatising experience. For the Orks that was the most fun they had in their lifes. Soooo... Tuska decided to gather some more Orks in a WHAAAAAAAAAGH!! and invade the Eye of Terror. After kicking some massive amounts of Chaos Demon ass, Tuska and his lads got finally killed off, but Khorne the Bloodgod was so entertained by them, that he resurrected Tuska and his warband, so that they can continue fighting hid Demons. So now, they spend all eternity fighting Chaos Demons in the Warp, getting resurrected by Khorne when they die and start all over again. That's an Ork's idea of paradise basically. xD
    Also, the Orks almost conquered the Imperium during the ''War of the Beast'' and managed to force a Tyranid Hive-Fleet into a tactical retreat during the ''Octarius War''. So never underestimate them!

How they travel the warp. How their economy works. How their reproduction works. How their society is structured. Comissar Yarrick's legendary feud with them. And so much more. Well after the War in Heaven and the vanquishing of the C'Tan, the Silent King went off on a pilgrimage to the edges of the galaxy in self imposed exile, to punish himself for literally selling the souls of his whole race. And now he's returned from the galaxy's edge, and trying desperately to unite the Necrons and even talking with the other races like Humans and Eldar to stop fighting and work together.
    Almost like at the edges of the galaxy, he saw something *terrifying and GRIBBLY* and realised that the galaxy needs to get its shit together RIGHT NOW OR WE WILL ALL GET EATEN.

    Necrons fight on the table top with weapons that are really good at ignoring your opponents armor, lots of rank and file soldiers that constantly come back to fight even after your opponent had killed them, special sheilding that means even the most powerful weapons in the game only hit about as hard as a regular gun, lots of tiny robotic bugs that tear people apart, HQ's that buff the shooting of units around them and have enough strength to cut through battle tanks like butter, and big (but random) artillery that can vaporize pretty much anything in one shot.

    the T'au are divided into castes that all work together, the Earth Cast build, Water Caste talks, Air Cast are the pilots, and Fire Caste is the military... The 5th Caste are the Ethreals, and they unite (control?) the castes under the Greater good so they all work together... They focus on long range, seeing melee combat as barbaric. One tool they use are Markerlights, basically painting a target with a laser so other units shoot better.
    There are some good stories out there, if you want a good taste I recommend the story (book or audio) "Blades of Damocles" it's a war that takes place while the Imperium and Empire are first clashing and gives a good feel of both factions as well as hints as to why the T'au are not all rainbows and hugs.
    I also love the story "Broken Sword" that follows a former captain of the Imperial Guard that has joined the Empire.
    I would hold off on getting into T'au until they get a new 9th edition update, when Briky made this video it was 8th edition and T'au were close to the top, but in 9th they are the worst... The T'au also have other races that fight with them, the Kroot (cannibal bird like creatures), and the Vespid (fast incest race).

    Look more into Orks, they are with out a doubt the most entertaining faction in 40k. Their 0 fucks given mentality, their tech held together with duct tape and belief, their accents, and the buckets of dice they throw on the tabletop, are top notch.
    There is one story where the IG ran out of ammo when facing an Ork charge, and they stand up and yell bang, and the Orks believe the IG weapons are firing, so by ork logic they were, and the charge was halted

    Quick rundown of each faction's playstyle:
    Marines-Units with low numbers but high base stats, can be played with just about any style (melee, long-range, mechanized, infantry) depending on your chosen units and chapter.
    Grey Knights- Hyper-elite Marines, equipped with better gear and each unit is a psyker in its own right; lots of strong infantry and damage output, but little staying power or vehicle support
    Imperial Guard- Massed infantry and tough, cheap vehicles all with heavy firepower. Prefers long-range shooting and artillery over melee, but has specialized units for any need
    Battle Sisters- Cheaper, squishier marines with a focus on close-range shooting and very powerful melee units. Love their flamers and meltaguns, and can replace dice rolls from a pre-rolled pool
    Custodians- Incredibly powerful models equal to characters from other armies, but suffer from weak ranged power and extremely low numbers. Not that you care when nothing ever dies
    Ad Mech- Bizarre weapons bolted to cyborg soldiers and priest-engineers, backed up by funky steam/dieselpunk tanks and aircraft. Very powerful shooting but rather fragile infantry
    Inquisition/Assassins- Basically supporting faction(s), can be brought along with other Imperium armies without breaking army organization rules. Mostly single characters with special abilities
    Imperial Knights: Huge gothic mechs with chainsaws and tank cannons for arms. Only a couple models on the table but each is a small army in its own right, aggressive but struggle to score points
    Chaos Marines- Traitor counterparts to the loyalists, more incentives for melee over shooting and spooky Daemon units. Once again versatile but depends on your chosen units and Legion traits
    Daemons- Literally daemons from Hell, following a specific Chaos God or combining their powers. Almost exclusively melee, and play around god-based synergies between characters and units
    Chaos Knights: Once again counterparts to the loyalist versions, and once again more melee-incentivizing. Mostly just spikier Imperial Knights, but have some unique tricks and God-based bonuses
    Craftworlds: Fast, highly specialized infantry and jetbikes with surprisingly tough and versatile vehicles and badass aircraft. Lots of psychic power and damage, but squishy and many units are weak
    Drukhari: Bizarre army structure with effectively 3 different sub-armies: Shooty Kabals, blendy Wyches, and tanky Haemoculi. Overall very fast, very fragile, and make great use of many flying units
    Harlequins: Still fast, still fragile, but very melee-focused and have a huge bag of shenanigans to pull from. Only a few units (with something for each role) and are EXTREMELY dangerous in combat
    Orks: Usually massed blobs of Boyz and a variety of ramshackle vehicles, with a bunch of hilarious counterparts to Marine units. Love melee, but in numbers can also be played shooty quite well
    Necrons: Slow and immensely hard to kill, with cost-effective infantry blobs and regenerating vehicles. Reliant on highly specialized units for killing tanks and fighting in melee
    T'au: Strong guns, and mecha with jetpacks and even stronger guns. Next to zero melee damage, but not horribly squishy and can bring in alien auxiliaries to fill holes in their usual roster
    Tyranids: Versatile playstyles, can be horde or monster-based. Good psychic control. Rely on the auras of their command creatures to stay in control-lose the boss and your other bugs might go wild
    Genestealer Cults: Cheap, fragile units with 3 armies worth of trickery. Ambushes, sabotage, massed charges and disposable infantry themed after a civilian revolt, complete with stolen Guard units
