Fun Fact: Orson Wells called Mercedes McCambridge the greatest living radio actress for her old time radio work in the 1940s.

Love her voice. Her life was quite sad.

Her voice on the radio is pure annoyance, like she's overacting. But I enjoy her movie roles and her contribution to "The Exorcist."

@@cynk956yes, but her voice was perfect for when she played neurotic characters.

Tuning in from the wilder woods of N'west WI, where on 4/8/24, this Country boy Farm boy is listening in with anticipation of "Lights Out" before the conclusion of Act 2. And with Aprils current warming temps emancipating soils from Winters frozen grip, we'll soon be tilling from dawn to dusk in pursuit of planting a whole new season of 'Fields of Dreams'. So thanks good neighbor Nightfall, with you at the helm there's no need for "Take Sominex tonight and sleep... safe and restful, sleep sleep sleep"!
G'nite all and may the soils be with you.

04-08-24 After being able to watch the Solar Eclipse today, I am still all excited! Had no idea it would simply be a matter of walking out my kitchen door and just look up ! My husband has an arc welder’s helmet we could change the settings on, and we took turns watching it - the best part is when totality happened and we could see it with just our eyes! It was exciting. As soon as it went total, it turn really dark outside - completely ! However, I’m now listening to my bedtime story and it sounds rather exciting too! A very goodnight from Southern Ontario, Canada, 43* N. Love Chandler, as long as Humphrey Bogart is in it, or even William Powell as the Thin Man detective !!! Sleep well everyone - thanks Sir Edge, as always for these ! 🙏❤🫠 I saw Venus and Jupiter, and wished upon a star ( or two😄) !

@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc Same to you my friend 🙏 Sleep has evaded me the last two nights. Happens once in awhile. Agatha Christie once said in reply to someone who asked what she did if she couldn’t sleep : “People today want prescriptions to help them with everything. Pick up a book, or count sheep” !! lol 😄 I don’t believe she was trying to put people down, but rather as someone who was just speaking plainly. Hope you enjoy the day and will see you tonight , hopefully !🙏❤🫠 Huge🤗from afar!

Has all the makings of ‘The Matese Falcon’. I am a huge Bogey fan, but I often wonder had Mandel Kramer been born earlier, could he have competed with Humphrey Bogart as the greatest of the film nior era. I first ran into Kramer playing the role of Johnny Dollar, later he turned up a lot on the CBSRMT; wise to cast him. Bogey or Kramer? Bogey for sure.

    Ahhh come on!!
“They’re after me; come quick! I’m hiding here trembling! Please come! Oh hold on, somebody’s knocking at my door in the middle of the night… Let me just answer that… ooops I’m dead!”
If people in the first 1/2 of the 20th century were as profoundly stupid as some of these authors represent them, we’d be extinct!
