This has been such a fun breeding season to watch so far! I'd been holding my breath for lavender hogs, and this clutch has so much going on genetically! Loved seeing the hypo and albino next to each other too
When they touched upon the professor who previously did studies about hypo-melanism (3:52), Emily mentions both parents were linebred. For those wondering: Linebreeding is a form of inbreeding where the parents share a common ancestor but not in the first- or second degree. (What that means is that one parent is bred with either their great-grandparents, great-grandchildren, grand-uncles, grand-aunts, first cousins, half-uncles, half-aunts, half-nieces and half-nephews. Or a relative further back; which for the purpose of linebreeding would be less frequently used as it will be more difficult to track the genetics you're looking for.)
Very clear explanation, thanks. I think they also explained in a different video while they were line-breeding something themselves that it doesn't affect snakes as badly as inbreeding affects other animals e.g. breeding dogs for example.
Finally i always look forward to the hatching seasons on your channel the most. Thats how i landed here in the first place and fell in love with yalls personality. So likeable.

I think I found y'alls channel about 8-9 months ago, or so, and I binged watched everything! and I loved the egg hatching videos, so I'm so glad I'm here and caught up. I love how they're all sassy pants! it's so freaking adorable. y'all have really helped me see that not all snakes are danger noodles. I've been terrified of them since I was a kid, when my grandpa got bitten by a copperhead. luckily he got antivenin and was okay. his finger is just bent now, but yeah...even though I don't see myself ever wanting one, or being able to hold one, I can appreciate them and respect them.
Hey Emily! I loved the video. It's been observed a few times that if you pair female snakes to multiple sires an individual offspring in a clutch can belong to either of the father's, but they can't inherit traits both. That can make it difficult to determine where the hets came from ;) that might also explain why you didn't hit many combos this year. I think my favorite is the rage hypo baby
Firstly, I've been a huge fan for years. Thank you for all you do and congratulations on your journey so far. I had a hypothesis regarding the mold and rewatched footage from 4 months ago when these were laid. I watched closely as they were set up snd made an observation. The eggs that were strongly adhered had molding exactly where the natural adhesive came apart. My hypothesis was regarding the sharpie to see if different pigments were possibly used. So, it was wrong. However, please look into my observation. It might be beneficial to sprinkle the foot powder quickly after pulling apart before any spores can settle in the soft egg membrane. Just a thought. I hope you see this and are well!
The mystery fruit albino is so cute! 😊 I love that you cut the shell in the exact place its head is behind. It looked like it was peeking out of a window. Edit: That last noodle was cute too. Seeing you "encouraging" it out made me laugh.
I do think the thought someone had in an earlier video came true. Maybe since the incubator was *so* full it caused some temp issues, even if minor ones. The shelves has mesh bottoms to allow air flow, but snake eggs in plastic bins didn't allow the air flow. (Also sounds like you need Carnival Mike back cause of his diversity of hets.)

I'm so happy that I'm here for this years babies in real time.
Hehe. I couldn’t stop laughing when Circus scared her.
This is the 3th time I've seen this video. I'm still in love with those Hypo baby's 😍
I love how when Emily asked Ed the odds of taking the babies to the rack he only had one word and that word was no
Wow, Circus is ready to get shot out of that cannon, isn’t he? I’ve never seen Emily jump like that!
"All mean siblings are gone this is amazing!"
-Strikes at everyone-
"Aww you haven't been hatched for a minute and ur already striking at faces"
I live in MN and I plan to visit soon love the content please keep doing what your doing
I love this hypothesis. Also, you were first to comment on this vid.
The mystery fruit albino is so cute! 😊 I love that you cut the shell in the exact place its head is behind. It looked like it was peeking out of a window.
Edit: That last noodle was cute too. Seeing you "encouraging" it out made me laugh.
I think the mystery was an Orange but I’m not sure…
2:30 minutes in and made me jump out of my seat!!😂😂
I do think the thought someone had in an earlier video came true. Maybe since the incubator was *so* full it caused some temp issues, even if minor ones. The shelves has mesh bottoms to allow air flow, but snake eggs in plastic bins didn't allow the air flow. (Also sounds like you need Carnival Mike back cause of his diversity of hets.)
