I haven't been able to watch youtube videos for a while. Congratulations on your new Bernina. What a blessing! I was so excited when I saw you got a dress form! I bought one from Wawak last year along with Brooks Ann Camper's E-Book showing how to pad her using minimal measurements. I still need to do that. LOL. Watching you has motivated me to get "Big Bad Bertha" padded! Looking forward to seeing your fabrics.

I have the EXACT same model and LOVE it!!! I have the embroidery unit too! That knee lever is for raising and lowering the presser foot. I never use mine ... the machine I learned on years ago had a knee lever that controlled the speed/motor and as much as I tried I couldn't make the switch (LOL!). What a gift that you are so deserving of! One of the best accessories I routinely use is the walking foot. Hopefully you got one in that white box, with all the other 'stuff' it's possible you have one. If you don't, it's worth getting if one you can find it (they were a pricey accessory). By the way, this machine uses the "new" style presser feet (there are others that are the "old" style and they're not interchangeable). Enjoy!!!

@@SewNaturalDane My pleasure! I see the 180 somewhat frequently on the 2nd hand market and it's nice to see they have a following. The embroidery unit is something I haven't used as much as I'd like. I now have a dedicated space so I'm hoping to use it more often. Any information you plan to share about using the machine and embroidery unit will be very helpful ... often the classes are great but there's typically more info than what you can hope to remember. 💜
@heidefries1825 yes, will definitely share. They say 8 to 10 weeks before I get it back. They have a back log, but will keep you posted 😊
That last suitcase thing has a drawer you can pull out on the bottom. That's why it is so deep.

The Bernina store near my house will "adopt" a new Bernina owner and service your machine for free the first time. I'm in Phx, AZ.

So what is the difference between single fold bias binding and hem tape?
Hem tape doesn't have the folds like bias tape. It's really nice, Google hem tape and you'll see how it's typically used. Thanks so much for watching
