In this video, I skate from the Aether store in SoHo back to the Upper West Side, where I live. Trying something new with a more "raw" approach, let me know if you like it in the comments.

The man switched to a motorcycle in order to free himself from the shackles of an enclosed space and become a little freer.

To me such a guy should be arrested by police and fined, he’s endangering himself over the traffic and at intersections.
Sidewalks were made for people without a car, rollerbladers and skateboarders should be doing their thing on the bike lanes or sidewalk at best but never in the lanes of traffic cars.
Going through inbetween cars and cutting traffic lanes of cars like this people should simply be fined for it, if there is any accident this guy is responsible 100% for cutting the car lanes.
They put themselves in jeopardy for the sake of a minute of fame on the internet, this shouldn’t be a thing nor praised. This rebellious behaviour needs to stop. You might think it’s cool for a second but it’s actually cringe and it disrupts the order of things, it’s a total disrespect towards others. I don’t think you would appreciate someone going fast about 3 inches away from you on a daily basis.
Well, this rollerblader doesn’t care about your feelings, he will do it for his minute of fame on RUclips, and that’s how society works, that’s why it cannot stand, because you build at the expanse of others.
At the end of the day I don’t care because I’m not living in New York but I’m pretty sure it pisses off taxi drivers and drivers there, and if I was the mayor of New York I would take action because I’m sure there are tons of accidents every year because of such behaviours from people who act this carelessly around others.

Agreed. I'd be pissed if I was a driver seeing this zoom by my car window in-between lanes. I'm not here to police anyone, just a curious foreigner....is this legal in NYC? Are helmets required? In Europe you'd have to stay on bike lanes and definitely not whiz through in-between lanes like that. I assume he's breaking the rules for the cool video but I'm curious about NYC traffic rules if anyone knows.

Bravo to your skills but I don’t want to see someone not only rollerblading but scooting too in traffic when driving. It’s not only about your safety but those who are sitting behind the wheel and bikers too and pedestrians. You have probably a great reaction but not everyone, people are different. There can be children and elderly and handicapped and etc.
Elderly people shouldn’t drive either. Of course you should know the risk of using the road in any scenario, especially of course when riding in a dangerous manner like the rollerblading guy in the video, but as long as he isn’t violating general traffic rules he shouldn’t be made responsible for potential accidents. A similar example is lane-splitting on roads where it’s legal. Of course the bikers should know the risk and be careful doing it, but in case a car suddenly approaches the shoulder or sidewalk too closely for whatever reason or a door on the driver side gets opened, it‘s never the biker’s fault

Dude I used to skate those same streets. Loved it. Except the couple of times a taxi door would open and wreck me. I skated agro skates, so your speed on those is insane! I was just telling my friend I wish skates were a thing again. Great video!

I used to do this back when roller skates were still popular in the mid 90s. I used to be a daredevil on those things. I will put some korn or deftones and I'll be in my own world. It wasn't NYC but where I lived is or is one of the most densely populated cities in the USA, union city NJ, I can't believe now that I never got seriously hurt. This video makes want to again pick up the hobby.

I find Bike Lanes are unsafe if I am pacing traffic or going faster than traffic because drivers do not maintain any awareness of them and turn without checking the lane they are crossing. The only times I've ever been hit by a car while riding were when I was using the Bike Lane.
I agree, if drivers regularly check for users in the bike lane, that would be one thing. But they don't. Tough to coexist in an urban environment.

What the hell the guy is just flying through red lights and has no braking ability to counter his momentum. How much do you think he has increased his chance at dying or at least getting permanently disabled? A guy on skates is no match for a 4,000 pound car. I immediately thought about those wingsuit jumpers who jump off cliffs and essentially are just falling at an angle - they all live short lives.

Dude, please be careful. You're obviously incredibly skilled but people don't see/pay attention to motorcyclists, let alone a dude rollerblading at that speed and popping out of nowhere. It can also be startling for drivers. Please be safe!
