- Tim's setup has everything you need and nothing you don't! Would you add anything? I loved his Lifesaver water filter so much, I decided to get one of my own. So stay tuned on a review of that, and click the link below to check out this awesome Military grade water filtration system:

Man I love these simple set ups, more attainable for poor guys like me lol!
You should see my Chevy Silverado. I got it set up so simple but very practical. Just gotta get my portable power supply done, a Dometic fridge.
Agreed!
better off the direction he's gone with the insulated light shell, moreso than an overweight complicated camper, in my opinion
Tim is a man of few words.
He's from the east coast, straight to the point.
Respect that.
No doubt
Tell him that ABS is manufactured for drainage. If he rebuilds his shower with PVC (schedule 80 may be overkill but it’s for high pressure, schedule 40 will most likely work) it should hold pressure better.
I like the mostly DYI setup. I see some similarities in mine. I am 100% disabled, and am considering doing a truck camping channel for the disabled, as there are a ton of things disabled people need to do differently. I like how your channel is growing in interesting content.
I had a set up similar to that. I used 1" Styrofoam to insulate and covered it with cherry wood paneling inside. It looked great, was well insulated and no rattles.
This is one of the best set ups a person can build . I think Brian has said many times he wished he had bought the taller cap .I have moved from a truck camper to a van ,so far love it .But I have lost the lots of the off road capability
Tim is it? He is a man of few words. I like it
sweetest truck topper tiny home i've seen yet. *respect*
That’s cool! We have the same topper on our truck. We pull a small Winnebago so we haven’t used it to camp in. We store our bikes back there plus a ton of other crap. It’s so much easier than climbing over the tailgate.
Very well thought out and practical! Thanks for sharing.
Sweet rig & setup! Thx 4 sharing & for the tour to you both! Down 2 Mob 4 Sure!
So awesome! Trying to figure our next move- something DIY like this or a travel trailer type deal. Thanks for sharing man! -Josh
I' ve built two of these. I'll be starting on my third version soon. These are great to learn on and then easy to build the next one better and faster.
It’s simple and comfortable looking I love it
The quite man , saved his money for other things that will serve him better in the near future.
Thanks for sharing his build with us.
I’m about to build out and insulate the inside of my high top ARE truck camper. I really like a couple things he did here. The bike rack on the side is genius. I need to look into that.
Thank you so much for the bicycle on the side of the truck idea I was trying to figure out what to do with my bike, stressing me out Then I saw this video, brilliant! thank you!
I run a similar setup on a old z71. thanks for the good ideas
Anyone know what topper that is? I'm looking at doing the same thing.
I wish the tour would have slowed down and really showed his build more in depth. It felt like you were rushing through it. Thanks ✌🏼
Nice rig Tim. Well built and thought out.
Good looking comfy rig
Wow that's cool to see. Brian should have a topper built like that for his truck.
Great Job .
Had a very similar set up. Did a Canada west-east round-trip with it last year. A bit too small for two persons, but we enjoyed it a great deal nonetheless!
Well put together set up.
Great set up
Looks good Tim was good meeting ya
Nice Set up 👍!!! Good Times!!
Nice rig, cool dude, have fun gents!
Sweet set up getting ideas
DIY greatness.
Yeah buddy it’s Tim from crestone brewery 🤙🏽
Nice job
I am excited for the new f150 with built in battery system to power stuff. Makes it easier to build a rig.
Have a safe blessed day!
Sweet ride!
Awesome rig and great video
Excellent build. Really like the A.R.E. Topper.
Nice Rig!
That was interesting. I like what this guy did.
Bike on the side is a great idea I shall add to my build ideas!
That's a nice rig
Nice rig! I like the setup.
He reminds of the guy with the hang glider motor thing he drove the white F350 that guy had a similar set up you did a rig walk around on it last year.
great build!
That's an awesome build good job on the video
Clean build!🇺🇸
Well done on the affordable FORD chassis. Good times Offroad
Very well done! I'm looking at using an F-150 with a self-built shell.
I have the same topper but for a half-ton truck with plans to convert it myself and I'd love to see more of what he's done to convert it on the inside.
Where can you get a topper like this? Thanks...
Nice Rig! i want to upgrade my F-150 front bumper.
Dig the build!
Nice build.
Nice set up
You did great in such a small space
Nice rig.
Virginia boy! Hell yeah, shout out from Battle Mountain in Rappahannock county!
#BattleRunRelics #HistoricTown
Love the shower!
Very strange. I’ve been fantasizing about these toppers lately and here we are.
I'm in VA, have all kinds of campers lol, will be looking out for him. Looking for a high topper myself!
Nice rig, who makes the shell? What is the weight? Thank you, MM
Tims rig is cool
Every time you panned past that rusty shovel, my mind
registered a coiled snake.
This is the first rig ive seen with a bike set up.
Have u seen the new camper that would fit your Jeep? It’s called geho cab . German vehicular camping specialist
Nice & simple setup. My round trip commute is almost 3 hours a day. Sometimes it would make more sense to sleep in my pickup some nights. Trying to figure out how to sleep in a 5'6" bed when I'm 6 feet tall.
Sleep diagonal- Corner to Corner.
Only thing I wished it had was windows! Then it’d be perfect
Looks like he has 4 windows plus the roof
Cool ,I have a similar set up
This is like mine but better in every way. 😀
How do you lock the doors and windows from the inside? Thanks!
This is how im building my truck now
The camper doesn't look strong but it must be strong and I like the wreck on there where the bike is to and his water container very very convenient
Check out a Topper EZ Lift. Great head space for truck toppers.
I would like to see how he did the rotopax over the side window
Sweet
How much was his mileage affected by that box on top, and, the topper?
Focusing right in on bear spray and the iPad, I was too shocked that a camper was painted black. Summer is going to be a bitch.
I was thinking of buying a truck with s smug top. But i have a complex with people seeing me come in and out of the back of a truck every morning. I went with a 4runner and jump into the back
Mad Max life style is here
Two words for you Phil. WOOL SOCKS. HAVE A GOOD DAY. Kenny
Boomhauer has a nice rig
I am in the work of make one I am looking at a toyota tacoma sr 2.7 4x4 to do it with
Nice truck I was going to go with a camper to but not good for off road what u have work better nice work 👍
Uhhh what's the precise name of this topper?
That’s what I I’m going to build I just picked up a f150 looking for that same topper.
What's the topper brand in the video ?
@@Morgan27J only ones I know of is a company called Leer , IDK about the one in the video.
The topper in this video is an ARE.
I cannot find thus topper anywhere.
Please help...i need to get a high top...as high as possible on my d
1990 Dodge D150. 8 foot bed.
Brand ARE model DCU, custom height on catalog
Awesome build. I'm thinking of doing this after I sold my truck camper that was too top heavy for of road. And "hey" from a fellow Virginian. I love how you hook up with pro 2nd amendment folks
Just bought the same topper
Who manufacturers it?
Is it made by ARE? If so, what is the model name because I can't find it on their website even though I found a picture of one online at : thumpertalk.com/forums/topic/1257479-pick-up-truck-camper-shell-topper-cap-that-will-fit-motocross-bike/
@@stevefish4153 the one i have is an ARE its called the DCU (deluxe commercial unit)
Hi Brian and Sierra.
Nice setup but what kind of mileage does he get on the road just saying
Hi Tim
What kind of topper does he have?!
Just want to know if that was a utility truck topper, or if it was more recreational.
Just happened by this comment and figured I'd reply as I'm looking into them now. This model is called the A.R.E. DCU (deluxe commercial unit). He most likely has the 26" -32" wedge shape which you can find under the "build your own" option on their site.
Hi Phil and Kota.
Awesome setup. In place of airbags, timbren load stabilizers are the way to go, less costly and super easy bolt on mod!
I like this setup. This is my plan for upcoming F250. My guess is that ARE topper was about $4000 new?
BlackBuzzard, you are locked on. I just a quote on the same one and with tax came out a little over $4000.
What brand of topper is this? You can’t get Leer FOR. 2002 F-150 any more. I’d be interested if you can get that kind for an old truck. My setup is awesome but I have a cab-height topper and that is SO LOW! (How low can you go!?) check out pics on IG @FuzzyKilt
Nice setup! The bike location is a worthy compromise. How do you secure the bike at night?
Possibly with the sign on the back of his rig.
What brand/model is the topper?
It's an ARE DCU custom ("wedge"). Leer and Century also make similar ones.
@Down2Mob, Can you please ask Tim where I can get one of those "You'd have better odds in Vegas" stickers?
There’s a website on the bottom of the sticker it says ReadyToDefend.com
@@coreymilewski7668 - Thanks Corey. I guess I need to pay more attention. Have a great weekend.
David Yergensen thanks brother. I’m about to buy a 3 pack lol
Its an A.R.E. brand DCU model, probably around $4k with those options
Phil pls keep an I on Brian, worried about him man
