    I just purchased the 1/250 Soya kit and while researching this ship I found your video. Just wanted to say Thank You for sharing your trip aboard the real ship. 🙂

      For added fun you might not know. Nobu Shirase was the first Japanese antarctic explorer who traveled to Antartica in a private expedition he went into debt for. The Japanese goverment and academia offered him no support till Count Okuma helped him raise funds.
      I do not think it was random that one of the charachters was given the name Shirase
