This was a great video...extremely helpful. Your meal prep is more like how I try to eat than others I've watched. Not a flight attendant- I work in a office with a set schedule so I use the Crew Cooler Jr which I pack every morning with my breakfast, lunch, & snacks - my goal is to eat everything I pack eat day since I struggle with eating enough. Anyway. Those plastic trays & the food you prepared looked great! You can get the plastic condiment cups with lids from the same section at Walmart or Target as sandwich bags - they have reusable options there too. Thank you for sharing!

I throw a couple of little squeeze bottles of Mio for my water bottle when I get bored with plain water. Also, I have a tube of "8 Greens" tablets to add to water as a way of supplementing my needs for greens. Super tasty too!I

Greetings from Australia. Have just discovered your channel and have subbed. Enjoyed your scarf tying vids, some great ideas I'm trying out, particularly enjoyed the fan tie. Keep the vids coming, they're great :) Just a tip for loading your lunch bag, try turning the meal containers round the other way across the width of the bag rather than the length (all the while humming the tetris song to help your packing) they will fit much more snugly whilst still giving you plenty of room for other goodies. A small container of berries or a couple of bananas will also go well with oatmeal portions too :)

new sub here -you are so super organized! I love your nails! im wondering what happens when a flight attendant is late to work? does the plane wait for you or do they call on a reserve back up? also id love a video on airport/flight attendant lingo-ie reserves, legs etc

    • @AlohaParis87
      @AlohaParis87 4 года назад +5

Hi @Ri Ray 👋🏾!! I am a FA* for a Pacific Northwest airline (I have "*" some terms and will define after the explanation). And, in general, when a FA is late the company has reserves sitting airport* that can be called "last minute" to do the boarding process for the late FA until they arrive. Now, if the FA is going to be "excessively" late then the reserve FA will work the flt* and the company will try to DH* the original FA to whatever location needed to pickup and continue with the regularly scheduled trip*.
      *FA - flight attendant
*DH - Dead Head. A FA (in uniform) that is being repositioning to an airport, but NOT working the flt. They will be sitting in the cabin with the PAX. (sidenote, some FAs don't want to be disturbed while DHing because it's our only break in the day and we want to nap.)
*sitting airport/airport reserve- a FA is scheduled a certain set of hours to sit at the airport waiting to be called for work (could be just boarding, or actual flying, or giving a working FA a quick crew break if needed btwn legs*)
*Leg - a flight from one locale to another with a trip. Ex: PDX-SEA (Portland to Seattle)
      *Flt - flight
*HR - home reserve (when a FA is on call/available to company, but waits at home rather than the base* airport
*Base - assigned airport to report to to start trips or airport reserve days (you don't have to live in your base city, you can commute if possible)
*Trip - legs put together over single day or multiple days. (My most recent trip was a 3day with 4 leg days and two layovers).
*Layover - City you have rest/break in while on a trip in a company assigned hotel. (Layovers HAVE TO BE a minimum of 10hrs long with 8 of those being in the hotel for rest/sleep by FAA ruling). (Personally a 10hr overnight/layover is not long enough).
*FAA - Federal Aviation Administration, the body that governs how airlines operate, how and what we are taught, dishes out drug/alcohol policy, etc, etc.
*ATC - Air Traffic Control. Body of people that moreso work with pilots and conduct traffic flow in and out of airports and clear flight paths of travel in air.
      *PAX - passengers
Any other questions, let me know in response!!

That bag is awesome!! Love it! I wonder if it would work well if you put water in freezer baggies (double bagged) and freeze that laying flat. Then you can re-freeze it if possible. And if not possible you can dump the water out and fill it with ice. But the solid chunk of ice may last longer and take up less space in the bag. I love dried mashed potatoes. And they are so much easier. Great video!! Loved it!!

I've never heard of an airline having a size requirement for your lunch bag so I can't really comment on that because idk if they would enforce it or not. I usually carry both my lunch bag and my flight attendant purse (at least for 2-4 day trips).

Hi, fellow flight attendant here. You as a regular revenue paying passenger can, BUT the cooler would be counted as either the larger item to be stored in the overhead bins or the smaller carry on you put under the seat in front of you. You wouldn't be able to have the "crew cooler", a small personal bag, and a roller bag.
