I agree. I think the 2016 Husky FE's were the best looking. Still had the Husaberg body designs. As much as I like my Beta, that year Husky always grabs my attention. Plus the graphics kit is awesome.
I'm hoping to do some form of dual sport event up there later this year, even if it's just a small group of friends. The ride up to Coyote Flats was a great one! How was your trip? How were the conditions?
Thanks man! I don't have these tracks anymore, but it's not too hard to find everything on satellite. Look up Coyote Creek Trail at the south west end of Bishop. You'll see a couple roads that head toward Coyote Flat. Then continue south east down to Big Pine. If I can get ahold of the tracks, I'll let you know!
This was my first time riding in the Bishop area. But now I have a ton of trails downloaded into my GPS, so I'm looking forward to going back and hitting new trails. The ground was really dry, but the weather was perfect.
@@americandirtrider7662 I'm coming back to California in May to visit family and bringing my DRZ...I hope to get a ton of riding in..... Midwest sucks for riding off road.
@@imyourhuckleberry357 Wow, really? I guess that makes sense. Not as many land features. Once you've got everything planned to come out, let us all know. May will be too hot for the desert, but I'm sure we can make a trip up to the mountains and ride up there.
@@americandirtrider7662 I was raised in the Mojave high desert....I lived in Hesperia from the 70's until 2003. Dirt bikes were my passion...Then it came to a huge halt when we moved to Illinois in 2003...All the land is farmland and is owned.... Literally no open land...It sucks. To me, May is an awesome time to ride in the high desert...It might get to high 80's or low 90's at that time...But yeah, I will let all know exactly when I'm coming and hopefully get a ride in. I will be hauling my Suzuki DRZ400 in the back of my Tacoma and stopping at alot of places along the way from Illinois. I'm just going to old school ruff it and sleep in my truck bed tent where ever I choose. Just like I did when I was a kid and poor....haaaa
@@imyourhuckleberry357 Dude you just described my dream... not the Illinois part. But taking the truck and the bikes to wherever the hell I want and riding. A handful of us SoCal RUclipsrs have made a little network of riders, so you're bound to get a few rides in with us. Looking forward to it!!
Great video! The terrain looks awesome and damn you're fast! Loving the look of your dad's Husky! Looking forward to you taking out that museum artifact on the upcoming ride!
The terrain was a bit dry on the way up. I have a good amount of video when we were closer to the big group, and the dust is so bad the video just isn't fun to watch. That's kind of why my dad and I stayed back and did our own thing for a while. But once we got to Coyote Flats, the ground was a bit better and we were able to pick up the pace. And thanks man!! Some weekends the bike is just working for you, and you can push your limits a bit. Haha. Oh his bike graphics are from Motocutz in Huntington Beach. It is such a nice looking bike in real life! Mine needs a little love before it looks like a museum piece again.
@@americandirtrider7662 I had that same feeling this past weekend. I'm no where near as fast as you, but I felt great. Traction was unbelievable and I could do no wrong. I'll look into Motocutz. Thanks!
@@BrokenEnduro Hah I really don't think I'm that fast. Look at guys like Torture Test Magazine, and that dude is fast! But I really do appreciate it. I guess we will see on the 1st ✊ So Motocutz is has an Instagram where you can see some of his work. But if you're feeling creative and want to save a bunch of money, google Motocal . That's where I designed my graphics for the Beta.
Always debated whether this DS ride was worth the trek up north, but after seeing your video I think we will do it next year. Great wheelie through the whoops btw!
I'm really looking forward to going back again later this year. We went during a big Dual Sport event. That was good because it was easy to find groups to ride with each day. But bad because the dust was crazy. I have a lot of GPX files of the area I can send you. Thanks about the whoops!! I haven't been able to do four whoops straight since then 😒
Man you guys were hauling on a couple of those roads!! And probably going a little to fast on that water crossing but maybe you wanted to cool down? Great use of the camera wipe as a transition. I don't think I have ever seen that one before.
So my dad is in his mid 60s now, but still crazy fast. This was actually slow for his standards. His bike wasn't working very well that weekend. Suspension issues and a worn back tire. You can see he's fighting for traction and sitting a lot to weight the bike a bit. Hah I was wondering if anyone would comment on my glove-wipe transitions! Glad you caught it. Oh and the water crossing..... my logic was if I fall, at least I'll cool off a bit 😄
Not that I saw during this event. I saw mostly unmaintained Jeep roads. But I heard from a friend who has family in Bishop, that there is better riding than on this video. I did hear of a great trail on the east side of the 395 that goes from Big Pine back to Bishop. Didn't get a chance to check it out, though.
Just up there last month I love bishop some great riding in that area
I definitely want to go back again, but maybe with a smaller group. There was so much dust for 80% of the rides we did.
Love the look of that Husky.
