Chopping my poster ..... nah
Its so good to see the videos averaging 3 figures... I still remember the dark 30-60 view days.
We've come so far!
YES
Will they wrinkle in the frame? I'm trying to find the best way to display a 24x36 poster. I used foam board and adhesive spray on my old ones, but over time they bubbled. Does anyone have a good way?
Hello Matt, I was watching the video hoping that you would explain how to get the poster into the frame. There are little metal tabs in the back. Am I supposed to use pliers to pull them out or should I only bend them? Thanks.
what type of hooks did you use ?
I got three of the perfect posters - but I can't damage the wall.
Michaels has almost all their frames on sale rn, I picked a really nice 40 frame for 8 bucks an hour ago. Got my nycc deathnote poster framed up and it looks so good
Are any of these posters laminated?
Thanks!
@swashin What if you like to hang wall scrolls for anime?
Question I just bought a poster and the size are 16 x 22.3 inches, do I need to round it or find the exact or go up but all I see is 16 x 20 or 16 x 24 , I want it to be a perfect size for it
Where would you find plastic frame like this in the UK all on finding is metal frames and wood frames which I don’t want
Strange question Meng, but what colour paint is that on your walls, i'm repainting and its similar to what i'm wanting
Do these again please, really helpfull
Looks nice! Nice edit
Walmart has them online and in many stores. The biggest issue is the cheap frames do not hold up well. In addition the poster frames are just to small for movie posters. And try never to cut up a movie poster. Especially if it is 30 years or more old. If it is a cheap reprinted or a uncollectable poster it doesn’t matter. Posters will also sag in those cheap frames that is why you see those wrinkles in them. If it is a old poster that has some value look into linen backing
I just went to Michaels today. Purchased two 22x34 frames, buy one get the other 40% off. Awesome deal, definitely the cheapest I've seen.
Could you use 3M tape to hold it?
where can i get me posters?
I try using tape and it just falls down in a few minutes it's so annoying
awesome video...the subtitles are insane
Oh man hahahaha
Man I Really Appreciate it! 5/5
michaels store awesome !!
Hey! Love your piece
Awesome video!
You might be your own advertising enemy here.
Literally the first shot, your own poster, with counterlight looks all wrinkly it it’s frame.
You got some good tips for framing these things.
And it seems i’ve arrived 8 years later.. But still..
bring these baaaaaaack!
I need a 40inch squared frame for my poster but I can't find it anywhere.
You can always make your own
Hey Matt. I enjoy your videos and I have followed Pimp My Setup for a few months now. I felt like giving you some constructive feedback on this video and future "Tip of the Week" videos.
I know coming up with ideas can be challenging. That being said, here was a great opportunity to figure out and show a way of making poster frames as a DYI project. And finding a cheap pre-made solution is not DIY. I think you would find even more success with these videos if you actually incorporate some step by step guidance on HOW to make or create solutions that cost nothing or very very little. (for example Barnacules's hot glue gun tips for cable management.) That being said, the Michael's lead for finding poster frames is great. However in my opinion, it seems more people (especially the younger audience,) would benefit from DIY projects rather than just you talking about where you bought frames. Build a frame yourself and show us how to do it.
Sorry if this was a tad random and not organized. I think what you are doing with your channel is great and I will continue to support you! Thanks again for taking your time to make videos.
Thanks Carl! Really appreciate the feedback. These tips aren't meant to be DIY but some will be when I have ideas! Just sharing tips! 😄
I was thinking about the same thing ...
Thanks for the cool ideas
Thanks for being cool
Need some tips about Room painting . Confused about coloring my room !!
Good idea!
i’m here because i’m getting some more exo posters which are unfolded and the ones i have rn are folded... and i just thought i might wanna frame them haha
how do you mount them on the wall without destroying the wall?
3m command hooks from walmart you can stick and peel from wall without damaging
Dope info
The Jobs poster is awesome shame its unavailable on Amazon :(
Ikkk :(
+Harris Douglas i know its a little late but here is a link to it on amazon www.amazon.com/Poster-Motivational-Inspirational-Different-Poster/dp/B00TPXTOMI
but my own poster frames. but it out of pine wood so wasn't too expensive
Another place you could look for frames would be thrift stores. The frames from Michaels are usually filled with acrylic and not glass. Granted the acrylic is easier to hang because it's lighter, but also looks cheap. I'm not really impressed with your framing. the posters look wrinkled under the glass, probably because they aren't mounted on a backing but just stuck in the frame. Still, it's better than just sticking them on the wall with tape or tacks.
How can you get creases out of posters?
Carl Hinkel gave a good tip: Use a towel on top of the poster and an iron on lowest setting. Iron through the towel to flatten out the poster. Be careful and don't leave the iron on for to long. This should help to reduce or eliminate the wrinkles or waves. Also make sure you are using a stiff backboard, like a piece of cardboard same size as poster.
Thanks:)
Michaels had some frame kits, but by the time I'd build it, would be 100 dollars or more. Just get a frame at Goodwill for $10 and cut it down. Never the poster.
I don't even nail mine. I used the adhesive pad things.
I get my measurements down and then go to dollar store. Or kmart, ross etc. and they always have crappy art on sale. I find really cool frames, dump the art and replace with my own,. Happy1 huntimg.
Guys if your from the uk go to hmv they do it for £7 if you buy a poster from them and £10 if you just want the frame
This video literally could have been a minute long if that. Go to Michael's get a poster frame because it looks better on posters. Some sizes are more expensive than others. End video... Like seriously you rambled on about about nothing for a good portion of this video and the "humour" you threw in just made it more unbearable to watch.
Sorry you feel that way - as I stated in the beginning you didn't have to watch this one since it was going to include extremely simple tips but I was addressing it still since it was requested numerous times. Thanks for your comment, Kyle.
That's a rather rude way to convey that message. Couldn't you just suggest being more focused?
Yeah like why do we care where you got your posters from?! lol
Yet you watched the whole thing when you had a choice to bail sooner than later or even better yet, keep on scrolling and not watch at all. 🤷🏻♂️
Who
"Pothter frame " 😂😂😂 thatth cute 😂😂
Anyone know if ikea would have them?
It looks like they do online, not sure about in store.
swashin I couldn't find them in ikea but i found them for a pretty good price on amazon.
(Black Wooden 61x91.5cm Maxi Poster Frame) only £13.80
My kpop posters are generally a few cm bigger or smaller than "standard" so I just bought the next size up at walmart :D
Finally deciding to frame my kpop posters after like 2 years. What size are your posters and what size is the frame that you got?
Instead of using poster frames, for small posters I bordered them using colored construction paper. It came out very nicely!
+The Donut Deflector or you can use plastic boards and some plastic sheets to laminate it
i get my posters and frames from ebay.. pretty cheap.
Mall cop ?
Yes I’m 🏄♂️🏄♂️🏄♂️ going to get frames for my poster dkdkd
ok
Alls I had to see was his wrinkled poster behind him in the background to stop the video!
I love how the background is more in focus than Matt :D
Well I am getting a limited edition poster so ya
You didn't explain how to do it though...
hes so baked, i know cus i am to
Yes Wal-Mart has cheap Poster frame.
Sweet, now Michaels is the cheapest place for the poster frames, been looking at different places and they were all expensive.
Yep, #THEMOREYOUKNOW
Walmart has small sizes, 22.3 " x not long enough either... Target has 3 sizes ...
"that lasted a week" girl i felt that.
Spent $175 On a Great Custom Frame..
Gotta Put out the Big Bucks if you want a Good Frame
1:15 and it still hurts
if you build your own frames you don't have worry about size
True - maybe I'll do a DIY for people if they are interested
Maybe I'll make a DIY series on how to build things. Such as shelves, tables, fixing holes in plastered broads mounting TVs on the wall
plastic picture frames with plastic glass is sad
No, not good for collectible, valuable posters! 😲 Trimming valuable posters is a very bad idea, since size is often used to determine if it's original and not a reprint or repro! You also need to have UV light blocking glass or acrylic to prevent fading. You'll also need a backing board that is acid free to prevent damage. Spacers may also be valuable to prevent the poster from touching the glazing. If your poster is a reprint, then none of this matters, since they're not valuable or collectible. You could use the cheap poster frames for those.
All I wanted to know was how to get my poster into the same $10 frame 36 x 24 without tearing the poster and how to put the sides on carefully. Because it’s not like the kind were you just bend those things up Then put the poster in and then bend a little things back down. These are actual sides & it is not clear if you take all the sides off and then put them back on and have to bend them out and in again and I have some really nice posters and I don’t want to screw them up on these wonderful cheap but hard to use posters. So don’t say you’ve got tips and tricks for how to do your posters when all you do is talk about your posters and where you got them. Frankly I don’t give a hoot about your posters. Just how to put mine in the frame thanks for the no DIY
i agree
Stave Jobs is overrated
Useless
Lame
serious 8 mins of talking ? :/
Sorry but I did not like this one, I felt it was a waste of my time. I am not trying to be mean to you but it said tips and tricks, other then "hey go here to buy one" there was not that much of tips. Now as for going and saying were you got the posters more info would have been nice on the one were you go " and this one that is signed by the band you can't get anywhere". Well were did you get it? Your talking about were you got them then say nothing on that one. Sorry just my feed back hope you do not take it as a attack on you, Just my two cents.
I never take feedback as an attack, I welcome it and thank you for taking the time to let me know. I always want to better my content and feedback is a must in order to do so. I do agree it was long but I made the video due to numerous requests and I said in the beginning it would be extremely simple tips. As far as the band poster, although I said it was unavailable I did say how I got it (for backing their Indiegogo) - I get SO many questions about it I felt it was necessary to address. Thanks for watching Dan and I'll definitely take your feedback into consideration for future #TipsOfTheWeek - have a great day :)
swashin Hey sorry on the part were I said you did not talk more on the singed poster. The first time I watched the video I missed that you had said it was for backing their Indiegogo. Keep up the good work on the videos. I do like the ones you put out on youtube and I will keep watching, just because I did not like one video does not mean I don't like the others. :)
No problem - again like I said, I really appreciate feedback :)
horrible
Worst video ever
I try using tape and it just falls down in a few minutes it's so annoying
