In this episode, Kerry and Natalie discuss Isaiah in the Book of Mormon in general, and the specific context of Nephi's quotation of Isaiah 48 and 49 in particular. They also discuss how Natalie's Isaiah art project has led her to consider some of the imagery in those chapters and how that plays out in the lives of people in general, and in her life in particular. Kerry and Natalie draw lessons from that that are real for all of us.
We are grateful for our sponsor, Lisa Spice, and for our producer, BJ Muhlestein, and for Rich Nicholls, who composed and plays the music for the podcast.

This episode was so great, I logged on RUclips just to leave a comment! Listening to Natalie share her growth in her faith and understanding of Isiah was so endearing. So many times throughout this episode I found myself thinking…yes! Exactly! Loved her thoughts and her testimony. Thank you! It was the message I didn’t know I needed, but left feeling edified and encouraged by!

Isn't it amazing how the Lord finds a way to meet a need we didn't even know we had? I am so grateful when that happens, and so grateful for Natalie for being willing to share and make it happen for so many!

Kerry, I thinks there’s a conspiracy to turn down the volume on your videos. I’ve heard this one before and it was at a much higher volume.
I used to be able turn it up and hear it around my small house but not lately.

That is weird. I just listened, and it sounded good to me. I wonder why it isn't working for you.

I loved hearing about Natalie's faith and her insights on Isaiah. She is a truly wonderful woman! The only thing that bothered me about this episode was her story about her husband's inspiration to move back to Kansas. Leaving the home that she loved and was able to have a creation/art space in (as a very accomplished painter) is very sad- and honestly, a little disturbing to me. Her aging parents moved there to be near her. Her whole family is in Utah. Moving so many times in 15 years of marriage is a lot to ask. Is it reasonable? I guess I don't understand this. Did God give her the inspiration as well? Is this the message that we, as women, are to embrace? That every time your husband thinks it's time to uproot, no matter what what his wife is giving up, you just do what you're asked? Ugh. I hate even posting this because I don't want to put a negative spin on her powerful testimony, and I LOVE this podcast...but I felt genuinely frustrated for her. I am a stained glass artist, and having a space to create is critically important. Her art has some risks, (that she mentions), as does a stained glass artist. People can get hurt being in my creation space. I just helped my parents as they aged, and finally passed...maybe that's why this podcast seemed very personal to me. Love you, Natalie! Thanks for sharing your faith, and incredible insights on Isaiah. You are amazing!!

From talking to Natalie, I think that maybe we didn't communicate it fully clearly here. She also came to realize that this was what they needed to do. She felt it was right. It was just a hard thing that was asked of her, but she knew it was what God was asking. Maybe we didn't communicate that clearly enough in there. Sorry about that. (Incidentally, after we moved a TON of times, I was done with moving, but my wife felt we should again. Acting on her inspiration I grudgingly looked into stuff, sure we didn't need to move. Then a certain house came up, and we both felt it was the one, and suddenly, after swearing I would never move again, we were moving. I was glad I followed her initial impressions, albeit unhappily, until I got the impression myself. We wouldn't have moved without us both being sure, but the initial impression was definitely hers).

Thanks for the update. I really appreciate it, and I'm so glad Natalie is at peace with the move and received her own personal revelation. She is an awesome lady! I wish her all the best! @@TheScripturesAreReal

What an incredible scholarly woman in your views and insights into many areas I.e. parenthood, scriptures, experiences and still pressing forward. Don't underrate yourself academically, you appear to me to be constantly studying and considering. Using the academic format of reading, understanding and applying; whether u realise it or not. This; for me, will become one of my go to, 'listen again' episodes. Illuminating, so interesting and enjoyable for me Thank-you Both. Also Thank-you Kerry for facilitating such brilliant discussions on yr podcast❣️
