There’s a good chance Nikita is telling the truth, but he’s definitely playing people and using this as a way to have people communicate with him again after his total mismanagement of Unheard Edition.
He doesn’t think before he speaks. If he’s got evidence he can show a video pulling the asset from an old build and compare the images. He deliberately makes things vague to farm engagement.
For what it’s worth, I think ABI probably did take BSG material, but there’s still the rumour that it was a mobile version of Tarkov they were working together on. Do we believe Nikita’s denial that this never existed?

BSG did change a lot of these which is a major reason why they didn't like SPT. It's another one of their SECRETS. The same goes for the sks and some other weapons. My best guess is over the years BSG has taken those files out to either-A) make a point of someone taking the same original image or B) the image they showed and compared was a basic copy image for themselves, so they could alter future released weapons like the RD704 from something similar instead of building the same exact image twice for no reason.
The fact that you said this doesn't exist anymore in the files helps me understand that for this image to be copied, they would have needed a way to access those old files. All this does is concern me that BSG will try to use this to go after SPT instead of the people they accused of blatant plagiarism. Saying that they didn't have the files only means someone had to at some point, and with an EFT time travel machine like SPT, i can probably Guess as to how they were obtained.

What is going on is that no one is talking about BSGs price gouge scheme called Unheard edition. This is about distraction and it is working.
Unheard is not price gouging, nor is there anything wrong with the price of it. You are not forced to buy it. You are free as a consumer to choose to buy it or not buy it, and judge for yourself if the content provided in the edition is worth the purchase. If it is - cool. If not... then guess what you have the option of NOT doing?

Because you don't just record the Shot Sherlock. After recording comes mixing and when you have a good Sound Designer he can replicate it pretty much.

All the models were made by ABI, the reason Nikita did not release the raw files is because he knows that they are legally not copying, the triangulation is literally so different. They may have modeled it around some tarkov weaponry but that is legal by all means, as long as they don’t directly steal all assets

Even ABI keeps a note in the upper right corner that not all images are final, to which I could consider/include assets. ABI is a closed beta, despite the massive amount of keys given out. EFT says similar. Sure things might be a copy now... but that's like Apple complaining Andriod stole their phone designs for their unreleased iphone50. Meanwhile Andriod hasn't released their thing, with said stolen designs, yet either.

Normal people can look at these two situations and understand that one doesn't influence the other.
Also: Copying IS illegal. There's no such thing as "stealing" in copyright law. Stealing specifically refers to taking someone else's posession away from them, copying a digital asset is a violation of copyright.
If you make your own asset from scratch that is heavily inspired by another asset then it's not illegal. You technically did the work to create the asset, and the asset is based off of a real world item.

@@Midwestemoisme We know for a fact that the Tarkov models are all mostly scanned in (the guns and parts) Most of the original guns from back before like 0.8 are guns Nikita owned and brought in to get scanned, after that they had to start renting/buying new guns under the company to scan them.
Kiba would spend weeks editing the garbage scanned models into usable unity assets, not an easy feat but it's not really art either.
I've spent countless hours scanning in real world items or copying them from photographs into 3D model software and it's exhausting hard work but there isn't a lot of art in it, it's actually mostly math and basic engineering.
Nikita really cannot point fingers around at other companies like that, it's not easy to prove a 3D mesh is a copy of another 3D mesh, it is incredibly easy to load up a mesh and move vertices around, weld vertices, adjust faces and bones, re-link stuff, etc. You can spend 30 minutes on each model modifying them enough that no court could ever prove it was a copy.

@Onepeg If you are starting to get interested how 3d modeling works, here's more info : ) -> Artists always work on non-triangulated models. The process of triangulation is non-deterministic, so supporting edges (the ones added in the middle of quads for instance) can end up in either orientation, depending on software doing the triangulation. Meshes are sometimes triangulated when exported to the game engine to ensure the supporting edges are rotated as they were intended to, since if they are not the model can look deformed in that part.

Mesh doesn’t matter. UVs will tell the story because no one lays their sheets the same way

The UVs aren't the same because they combined the smaller parts and baked the model down again for drawcall optimization, the islands however are identical, you can tell because the textures are identical, meshes might not matter to you but take a look at the animations and you can tell immediately it's Tarkov's animations but sped up in some places with broken transitions.

All i come here for is the information & you do a damn good job dude! i have 4k hours in tarkov & played ABI since beta release. I honestly hope nothing comes of this & both games start competing for top “looter shooter” position cause i have high hopes for ABI. The only thing to come from this is us gamers will get a better play experience if they start competing because atm good ol Niki thinks he can do what he want because if you really want to play something like tarkov, there is really only tarkov until very recently.

I also don't really care if you're milking the situation to get money out of it, as long as you're not repeating the same stuff over and over again or making non-arguments and wasting peoples time then I couldn't care less that you're literally doing your job and making a living to stay alive. Anyone who thinks a full time youtuber shouldn't do things to make money clearly don't know how hard it is to actually sustain themselves off of a creative platform like this which is entirely directed by an algorithm.

Just here to say, feel free to ignore the randoms that are toxic to you man. Theyre not subscribed and they probably didnt even watch the video
I think the truth may lay somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't doubt BSG may have made some shortcuts and reused publicly available assets. While doing something incredibly transformative they could call their own. Likewise ABI devs probably did enough to make themselves stand out, but China's copyright laws are different from western laws. So practices that are morally reprensible anywhere, are not legally problemstic for them. The culture clash could be showing as well, in how truth can be presented.
My biggest takeaway:
I think Nikita has had his pride shattered after thinking he had the community in his palm. So now hes experiencing the stages of grief as the community dies.
After seeing the 2015 video of him giving a seminar about his business model it's 100% him seething and coping as his business model collapses around him because he tipped his hand too far forward out of greed.
Everything goes back to Arena, we didnt want it or need it, it was a cool addition we were waiting for that PVPers might prefer over the base game, he over advertised it and spent way too much money getting booths and shit at conventions when he should have just built a working arena-shooter version of Tarkov.

Tencent is a $480 billion Chinese company that's about 25 years old.
They "might" have developed their own proprietary internal applications to "port" anything to anything else. Also their labor costs are only second to India so they can "brute force" problems just by applying more cheap human labor. Frankly I doubt Tencent use/pay for any official licenses for any software products unless they were developed in China. For example, Unity can't sue Tencent in China for using unlicensed software because the Chinese government and lax laws tacitly allows this. In spite of all the analysis and opinions going around the public may never know the truth of this.
You'll never convince the masses that china is bad, they get too much cheap stuff from China to hate their practices/ethics.
I've spoken to guys who work in shipping and they avoid China, it is the worst place to trade if you are not Chinese and if you are Chinese it is still not a good place to trade, too many scams.
I mean people pass of plastic as rice in China and sell it to their fellow chinese brothers.
Based on my experience with Chinese companies, and reading of others experiences, this is right on the money. It is basically part of China's national identity, and part of what makes them so strong, to take designs, ideas, and products from around the world and brute force copy and reproduce them to use or sell. Tencent wanted a Tarkov clone and I bet they threw bodies at the problem till they had the same damned game... and if they had to copy every single asset in Tarkov I'm sure they would of. But as you say I doubt we will ever know.
Russian and China are extremely well known to not give a shit what other countries or companies think of what they do, so good luck to BSG even if they prove everything was stolen to get any action done in China about it. Tencent is so many order of magnitude more powerful then BSG, and will have the Chinese government to protect them.
Plus lets not forget all the unlicensed firearms, accessories, and gear that BSG has throughout their game with zero contact or royalties to the owners of those IP's.....
Great vid. I played a match vs the #1 mythic ranked player recently and he destroyed my mono G deck. He was playing something off the wall. It was just a discardy orzhov. It played the big vampire plus 3 drop vampire planeswalker combo. Then it played this random card that is a black 2/2 saddle and when it attacks he draws a card and pays life for its mana cost. The he plays a white creature that says his small guys can't be blocked. Liliana 3 drop planeswalker. Plus thoughtseizes and etc. He just makes you discard everything while he draws a ton of cards and does whatever he wants. It was nuts.

Here's my major question, and I honestly wonder how this all lines up. The recoil in ABI is 1:1 with old Tarkov recoil. So is it actually plausible (of course this is before Nikita's says anything) that ABI got their hands on an older version of Tarkov and that's where they pulled everything from. Being code, assets, the recoil somehow. I'm not a coder, I don't know. What I do know is that recoil is 1:1 or close enough to be SCARY.
