I am Thai, move to Sweden and have learned Swedish for many years. Even I can communicate but I always feel and think that my Swedish is bad. Especially pronunciation.

This must be my favorite comment. Yes, I feel you can be proud of your beautiful Thai accent (I love it). It doesn't just make you unique, but it also makes Swedish unique when you're speaking it. In norway there are many thai people, and i admire the huge step they take concerning the language - thai is very very different from the scandinavian/ european languages. The thai language and many other asian languages has a very different rythm and soundmaking - the whole soul of the language have a different wave and music to it I actually feel that the more languages one learn the rytm and words from, the better and wider balance in life one get...
Thanks for this beautiful video. I am shocked people would dare look down on someone trying to learn a language. I am the one that feels so dumb for only knowing how to speak English. 😂. My roots are French (grandfathers side) and learnt a little in school and i enjoyed learning French but i am not at a level of conversations and honestly no one to speak it with. I am inspired now to take some lessons and practice! Also would love to learn Spanish too! You are right, it requires time and effort. So worth it though. I can tell this has paid off for you because you are a person that enjoys connecting with others. ❤❤❤.

That is so good about our school education in Holland. We learned German French and English. Oh the Grammar in German, all those rules ! I love watching foreign movies and picking up words I learned so long ago. Love to your beautiful family !❤❤❤
Once I was on trip on Delta Orinoco with the guide and small group of people. Each of us spoke different language (me some english), elder couple from Italia, and couple from Germany. In spite of that we had dinner together and we used arms, legs, pen and paper and some international words, but we had two hours of great fun, talking about our lives and stories... I wouldn't believe if I wasn't there.
One of your best video so far Maayan. Have you pick up Bahasa or Malay language from your in law. Over here it’s compulsory for us to learn Bahasa in school.

This video is a masterpiece. I'm fascinated watching you switch between languages. Trying to picture how you rememberall the language details from different phases of life. I'm currently learning Mandarin and Thai but the progress can feel so slow sometimes
Yeah I totally understand what you mean. You only notice the progress after a while (multiple years...) and all of a sudden you realize: I made a progress!
Fun video! An older video of yours inspired me to use iTalki to finally get serious about learning Thai. I couldn’t find how to use your discount code, but after 20 lessons with Kru Jaoh, I have no complaints. I’m close to having enough คำศัพท์ to try to use ภาษาไทย around the house with my wife. (Yes, I know and agree with your advice to just open your mouth and speak, but easier said than done.) Your 6 languages are interesting and good, and it sounds like Spanish will very soon be #7. Komischerweise klingt dein Deutsch - was Du übrigens sehr gut sprichst - wie jemand mit französisch als Muttersprache! Ich habe immer gedacht, je moedertaal was nederlands, dus was ‘t een verassing to learn that Hebrew was your first language! I like the way you said your French just came out as if a switch was flipped that recovered all those old school lessons. What was the magic potion you were drinking? 🤣

I speak only 3 languages German, English and (South-) Thai (still learning)...
And for sure...Thai language is more hard to learn then German...as a Dutch speaker you allready speak half German😉 i understand Dutch around 70% but i can't speak very well...forgot a lot🙈, in my jounger days i did a lot of holiday's in Holland...but

Very impressive and inspiring, Mayaan! Sometimes I get hard on myself and discouraged when I feel like I cannot retain the words I am learning. Great video! As a teenager, I learned a little German, a bit of French and enough Italian to converse and write letters. Then I became fluent in Spanish, and those other languages went into hibernation! 😂 But I know I can wake them up someday.

Maayan, you're such a gifted woman. So impressed with how many languages you can speak. 😮👏 Are you teaching your kids Hebrew or Dutch? I know they speak English and Thai.
Remember me when my French wife was coming here in Nl; she learns herself Ducth (working). She didn't understand a word...We also communicate the first year in englsih. Was not so easy because some people are always laughing about 'the accent'' or about using wrong sentence BUT you learn from your mistakes and you have to keep going, don't be afraid. Perfection doesn't exist.

Wow! It's so wonderful to be able to speak so many languages. I also found that language opens hearts and minds. It's the best feeling in the world to be able to communicate with people who a second ago were strangers, and suddenly you become a little closer to them by speaking their language. I get the same feeling when I speak Arabic (more so because of our horrible situation). When Palestinian patients introduce me to someone who hasn't met me yet, they sometimes say this phrase: "She speaks Arabic better than you and I..." (بتحكي عربي احسن مني ومنك) I feel slightly embarrassed, but it's so encouraging nonetheless :)

Oh I like how you say "This visit", do you feel like you're visiting me or am I visiting you? A bit of both I guess... I think I might continue posting once every 2 weeks. Hi Maayan! I am also a language enthusiast! I speak 2 languages fluently and ok in Japanese and a bit of French and now I'm going to learn Chinese. However, I am TERRIBLE in math and accounting😆 I wonder if it's the same for you?
It is interesting how you change your personalities by speaking a different language. Especially when you switch to Thai I noteced it the most. Chateau for speeking 6 language!
It is also interesting when you hear a language you don't understand. You only hear sounds without meaning coming out of the mouth!🙏🥰
