They aren’t preventing spots from being filled. The SCC will have the same number of players. So nothing wrong with them playing.

It’s a qualifying tournament and both Hikaru and magnus are already qualified so they don’t gain anything from playing

Couldnt stop laughing thewhole video about the situation. Great content but Sh*t Sportsmanship when i think about it after the video. He's doing it to someone who might need it way more than him/ Its just evil :) Also, you never excuse yourself by saying that he murdered someone, so i did it too. Its just ethics :) being such huge ambassadors for the sport, you both need to uphold higher standards :)
Disagree. It’s not like he’s taking away a spot, just making it slightly harder for one more person in this group to qualify, but that’s why there are other events. It happens. Think about it: if he didn’t play, it would be him consciously making it easier for this group of players, and thus harder for others who couldn’t attend. That’s just as unethical, if not more so. I remember in high school, I applied to way too many colleges. When I got accepted to my back-ups with no intention of attending, I potentially took away a spot that my friends really wanted, so I felt kinda bad about it when they didn’t get accepted. But hey, that’s just the game. Competition is cruel. It’s no one’s fault, just how it works.
