Thank you for this important video Philip! I am new to the Studer A810. I am going to replace the MPU with a version that does not require a battery. This means that I need to write down all of the Calibration Parameters so that I can manually Re-Enter them once I replace the MPU. I have already downloaded your handy Calibration Sheet! So 2 questions for you, can you make a video on how to Read Back the various Calibration Parameters so one can fill out the form? and another one on how to Input the Calibration back? I think 1 or 2 examples of each will be fine as they are repetitive. This would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you. Unfortunately I am working on a Studer A807 now, so I will not have time to make a video.
The procedure however is really simple, no need for video. It is all clearly explained in the SM. You can find that on my site.

What is the advantage of the new firmware?
By the way, if I were you, I would also replace that battery. It will eventually start leaking and destroy the circuit board.
It's not clear what voltage it's supposed to be but in most cases it's something like 3V. If so, you can use a lithium battery like a CR2032 instead (in a holder of course so you can change it again later), with a diode to prevent the circuit from trying to recharge it. Unlike NiCd and NiMH batteries, lithium batteries don't leak.

The battery has already been replaced Jac, but thanks for the tip.
What is the advantage of new software? This firmware is 5 years newer, Studer has made corrections and enhancements. This version 0188 is considered to be the most stable version. Later versions only contain fixes for tape synchronizers (to sync up multiple taperecorders in studios).
