1969 Kingswood Estate, with a 427 and hideaway headlights was in the showroom when my dad was ordering a strippo Townsman wagon. He wouldn't listen to be about the 427 car, probably because I was ten.
i like both of them the auto had a nicer interior but the 4 speed i love those tailights, my buddy had a 70 Impala it was nice, love these old wagon's you dont see too many on the road anymore.
my buddies dad had a 65 or 66 wagon with a 283 3 on the tree. that thing saw a lot of partying. you could pack about 10 people into that mofo. unfortunately up here they were rotted into nothing by the late 70's. wish i had a nice one to cruise in.
Dad ordered 67 327/275 w 3 on the tree. Rebuilt motor 2x, parked it n neighbor guy got it to put the 327 in his 70 Chevelle SS because his 454 drank too much gas.
I was born in 1965. My Dad usually bought wagons for my Mom to haul the kids and groceries around in and to go on vacations. I do remember at least two of them. One was an Oldmobile and the other was a Dodge or Chrysler. Both of them had big block engines in them. My Dad sold his 1969 Chevy "work beater" wagon with a 350 in it to a neighbor kid for probably $50 or $100. He painted race wagon on the back if it. I heard he won quite a few drag races with it! Lol!
A 4 speed wagon from the factory? oh heck yes that would be the one.the third row is also really cool. i remember little kids acting a fool back there away from parents supervision. that would never be okay nowadays haha.thank you for taking the time to show us these cool wagons from the past.
❤ My first car was as old as I was... 1967 Chevy Impala SS with the rare package that I picked up at 17 from a farm auction. God I miss when cars had STYLE!

Wagons are bada$$. My favorite is the '65 Pontiac Bonneville wagon.👍💯
This is what I loved about vehicles of this era. You always got surprises. Nowadays, ho hum.
