Did you just equate him with Charlie Parker, the most influential saxophonist of all time?
God that solo break was amazing
I personally believe Charlie Parker with strings is one of the best albums ever. Introducing new ideas to Jazz. And you just took his ideas and made them so much more evolved. I love the energy and that drummer is great. Your solo is sooooo killin as well. Thanks for uploadin
its a cannonball adderley song
+Fabian Fernandez he's talking about the string accompaniment, come on.....
Much more evolved?
This kid can NOT BE EVEN CLOSE TO CHARLIE PARKER.
HE IS JUST YRYING TO COPY CANNONBALL
The Sensual Sound of Sonny Stitt
Then you should listen to "Chet Baker with 50 italian strings"! That's where I heard this song first. Amazing album in my opinion!
Jacob Mann killing it on keys.
It's so strange seeing Jacob in a non-meme setting
Thom Avella im pretty sure they were both at USC Thorton together
Fast becoming a fan Alex
I don't know how many times in one day alone that I've listened to this. I'm drawn back again and again, just can't get enough!
Excellent performance. In the tradition of "Charlie Parker with Strings'. Well Done!
This video is so addictive ! I love every second of it and it has my full concentration every time ! I cannot fault it accept its over too quick ! Respect Alex ! Truly wonderful !
I do admire Alex Hahn since I do adore Charlie Parker and Jessie Davis, an ardent "Parkerian" devotee.

Not just another note avalanche playing guy, his wonderful technique serves his art, only a mean to fulfill his artistic goal and not the other way around. Keep it flowing!

Any relation to Hilary?
swang me back to good health
Alex reminds me of a young Christopher Hollyday, lately a non-recoding artist who instructs at the University.
Arthur Blithe, Justin Robinson, Jackie McClean, Sonny Criss, Gigi Gryce, Julian Adderley, Willie Smith, Ernie Henry - - - I am thinking of these altoists, also.
I adore all of Alex's works. They are standard Organic Real Jazz of the highest magnitude.
This is "Smooth Jazz" in the truest significance of the phrase smooth + jazz.
That piano solo ...
From Saxologic, anyone?
Saxologic is the homie!
Alot of Phil Woods there !
Hi alex, what mouthpiece do you use in this vid?
Martin Loecken he uses a Meyer 7
2:51
I hear Christopher Holiday's in this bad-as-ass performance.
Even at 14-/18, Christopher Holiday was forking "bad" on "speed" alto saxophone.
He is an Organic Real Jazz artist who, I have been told, elects to be a College/University Lecturer.
You need to listen to Sonny Stitt for about a year.
mouthpiece?
phil woods says no
Hmmm.........the obvious and crucial difference between a string section and a string quartet :-/
This is so beautiful.. piano messed up the vibe of the music when he soloed
Christ
Beautiful!!!
