This movie is an extremely interesting one because the subtext of the movie is Buddhism vs. Taoism, the spiritual tradition from India vs. the homegrown Chinese faith, which is often more like sorcery or witchcraft. Most Chinese people are both Buddhist and Taoist, but it isn't that simple. If you are a hardcore Taoist, you are probably critical of Buddhism and vice-versa.
Kung Fu didn't come from India. The Rajput was excellent fighters though. But that style of combat is long gone. Haven't seen or heard of anyone from there beating anything but the poor. Not starting anything or being antagonistic I'm just saying.
This is a movie you will like to watch many times, action packed Kung Fu from start to finish with the best stars together, Chen xing v Phillip ko end fight is awesome

Chen is one of the greatest chinese actor in dialogs and charisma, but he is not great in Kung Fu, it's mostly impress with look like the part. He is awesome when playing good guy like here which is rare, as he most often is the overlord vilain and his final fighting scene will be highly unrealistic with tricks and magic punches, which is not the best.

Chang Yi, yes, Phillip Ko yes, but Loh Lieg NO, he is purely a facial actor great for portraying evil and deception but has poor action fighting skills, his character always has to have to trick and magic because he is not a kung fu expert. But yes he is famous for playing vilains.

Buddhist spirituality, taoist sorcery , virtues and morals all wrapped up with classic Kung Fu fighting scenes make a wonderful movie for any fan of Chinese martial arts and mysticism.
Sometimes I really don't like getting older....and wiser...I now just wait for the fights ....and I'm 56....huge fan of Chinese theater...all I can say now is pay close attention to the story....
