I just got back from picking cherries in Hood River Oregon and can't thank you enough for these three methods! The cherries are in peak season and I found a wonderful organic orchard and picked 41 pounds! The picking was great fun but now on to the hard work. I've given some to friends and have filled over 3 gallon bags of pitted frozen using your method. I plan to make a batch of jam and the rest I will can and dry. I have a question about the canning method - I have some frozen apple cider vinegar from our CSA farmer and was wondering if I could use this instead of the syrup?
@@bbllrraa so glad to hear that! Apple cider vinegar is safe to use, but it will steal some sweetness from the cherries and basically pickle them so they might have more limited uses. You can also cut the vinegar with water and even add sugar to make sweet pickled cherries which can be really delicious - just a matter of preserving it in a way that you’ll use later!
If you find this video helpful, please give it a thumbs up so more people can find it :) thank you for watching!
