    _______________________________________
In May of 2021 Sweden announced a change of their policy regarding the medical and surgical transition of children. The change came in the wake of several bombshell documentaries which explored the issue of medicalization of children experiencing gender dysphoria in Sweden and Europe.
The controversial documentary series examined the evidence base of the protocols, the ethics of treating children who cannot consent and the degree of oversight and accountability that clinics held for their patients.
The english speaking world isn't aware of much of what the documentaries uncovered because of the language barrier, as the films are mostly in Swedish. English captions have been made available and for the first time the films are presented here with english voiceover to make them more accessible.
    _______________________________________
This transition protocol for children based on "The Dutch Study" had previously been used by clinics in Sweden since around 2014 to start children on puberty blockers leading to cross-sex hormones and surgery.
The "Dutch Study" was originally designed with strict criteria for inclusion which were not being applied to the exploding population of mostly young women who were starting to seek treatment for dysphoria. As such, most patients being put on this "trans train" of affirmation and medicalization were a different population group than those studied in the original Dutch protocol.
As a result, the issues of regret and detransition began to be come more common as people for whom the Dutch Protocol was not designed for started to see that medical and surgical transition did not solve their issues.
When these stories started to leak out, the Swedish investigative journalists at "Mission: Investigate" started talking with regretters and detransitioners and approached the hospitals and clinics who were treating young people at the time to figure out what was going on. Over the next several years subsequent episodes of Mission: Investigate explored other aspects of the modern discourse about the medical treatment of gender dysphoria. The revelations of this series were eventually led to the national health system in Sweden reviewing their protocols and issuing an official policy halting the implementation of the Dutch protocol in treating children with gender dysphoria.

American mom here. My daughter started saying she was trans at 14. She wanted to go on hormones and even explore surgery. We told her absolutely no. That if she still wanted that as an adult we would stand by her, but it was not going to happen as a child. End of discussion. We started looking more into what was behind this. Her newest bff was claiming to be trans, who was also schizophrenic. She/he was severely influencing my daughter’s thoughts and desires.
We were planning to move about a year later and her friend started telling her they should kill us so she wouldn’t have to move. That was it. We put a stop to that crap and separated them. My daughter is now 23 and stopped talking about transitioning right after we put an end to that friendship! She is still a tomboy but that’s fine. She doesn’t have to be like every other girl or any other girl. Just bc she is different doesn’t mean she is broken, damaged or “trans”! She is perfect as the masculine girl she is!

It might take a change of GP to get them to refer her, but it's worth it if it reveals any other underlying condition that might be helped and removed by surgery or managed via an array or hormone treatments that inhibit the growth of uterine lining material both in the uterus and if there are any areas outside the uterus. Of course it might be something else or just plain very unlucky, but it is worth pushing to get a diagnosis of an underlying causes, especially as endometriosis can also cause cysts and infertility. I really hope her situation and pain improve.

Someone once told me, "beliefs change" --- as I began my journey out of depression 30 years ago.
Modern trends towards unnecessary intervention have led some to make terrible decisions. The belief that changing one's body to heal the insecurities and desire to cure fears of being "different" is shallow thinking.

I hated being a girl, I hated having hips and breasts, I hated how big they were and how that suddenly made grown men old enough to be my dad or grandfather ogle at me and throw the vilest comments at me as I was minding my business hanging out with my friends at the mall. I was sexually abused when I was 17 which only fuelled my hatred for being female even further. I developed anorexia because I wanted to be as flat as a board and look boyish. I wanted to make my breasts and hips vanish so I would be invisible to those men who were saying vile things to me and the men who literally followed me as I walked home from school dressed in my school uniform. These men had no morality at all, they could clearly see I was a child, but they still followed me in their cars and kept telling me to get in or they followed me on foot. It was so scary being a girl, I was always scared I was going to be raped due to all these despicable behaviours from those men. I had a baby face and I still do at age 33. Bus drivers automatically issue me a child ticket because they think I'm a child. I had issues and I needed mental health help and I was lucky that I received it. I was fortunate that transgenderism was not a thing at that time, I might have been convinced that the reason I hated being a girl was because I was really a boy just in the wrong body. It's really scary being a child in this crazy day and age in which mutilating your body is seen as normal and encouraged by professionals.

Not that the the 90s (or any time period) was perfect but I'm horrified at what online culture has done to young people. Growing up a 'tomboy' with untreated ADHD and as gullible as I was, it would have been easy to brainwash me if adults and peers had started putting into my head 'these uncomfortable feelings of not fitting in is because you are really boy'. A lot of times I did feel like a space alien. But that was not because I was in the wrong body. It was because of the way people treated me. As an adult, I realize that I have never disliked or hated being a woman. What I hated was the way the world interacted with me based on my gender. I'm so glad I did not get caught up in this mess.
To be honest, I still don't like the way this world treats women. But becoming a man isn't going to solve that.

If people are repeating, "you are bad because women can't behave like that", "you are ugly because women can't look like that." It is understandable you think all this hatred is because you are a woman. The real problem is people treat you like a garbage but it is hard to realize when all people are saying you are this or that because you are woman. Nowadays if someone wants to claim I'm a communist I will briefly correct but if the other person doesn't believe me I just say: "Ok, let's agree I am a communist" and it usually puts the other party off-guard because he/she knows I'm not really that.

I was part of the online cult that spread propaganda through captioned memes and porn. And I almost went through with it in the end. The only thing that turned my life around was overpowering my dad when he attacked me, then non-violently getting him to back down and apologize using only my words. Then I was taken in by a different family to work for food and board, and learned to be a man again. That helped me realize the truth of the matter: surgery wasn't going to help the person I was inside, only destroy my physical body and chain me to a subscription-based medical hormone system. I had to grow up, back the hell away, and make peace with the fact that I *am* a man and can't change that basic fact no matter what I do. Escaping gender ideology and returning to XX/XY biology is what solved my mental health crisis.

Nobody knew I was autistic at the time, people believed at that time that girls couldn't be autistic... If I was a teenager today, I would very much believe the narrative that "becoming a boy will make me feel better". I know for a fact that aging solved my body issues. I learned to live in this new weird body with breasts and menstruations and all that. I learned to be OK with being different from the societal expectation for women. I don't care anymore that people are offended that I keep my hair to 5mm long and that I wear "men's clothing" and that I like engineering, woodworking and many other "men subjects". And that I have mostly male friends. I'm very afraid for the currently young autistic girls. So many will regret when they will understand that changing your body won't solve your feeling of being an outcast or not fitting and so on. If you're autistic, this feeling simply stem from the fact that you're actually different, but not because of your breast, because of your way of sensing (sensory inputs), thinking (reflecting, values, etc.) and feeling (emotions).

But when I reached puberty, I felt self-conscious and I was treated differently by men and boys. I felt awkward, oddly shaped, and weird. I hated having to deal with periods and bras. Most women I have talked to also went through a traumatic puberty. It's NORMAL. It's the fault of society that women have to feel objectified and inferior. So....I get why so many girls would rather be boys. But is it true gender dysphoria? I believe in most cases it is not. Had I been given a choice as a teen, I might have thought being a boy would be the right thing for me. But it would have been absolutely wrong. I am fine, even happy, as a woman. It's not easy, especially since I work in a man's field and have to deal with the kind of discrimination that engenders. But I am also proud to have been given the opportunity to be a strong, independent woman. I do think men have it easier, but transitioning to a man isn't the answer. The answer lies in changing the world so that women are respected and not objectified.

*When I was twelve, I was a babysitter for a trans-man, who had his change done by the now closed Mayo Clinic. Transgender surgery has been available since the 1930's (in Germany of all places!), but these gender clinics were careful to keep their heads down and attract as little attention as possible. The protocols for the patients was dramatically different than today, where you basically tell any school nurse that you were born in the wrong body and six months later they have these children in operating rooms (being paid outrageous amounts of money to perform surgeries that they KNOW is likely improper).*
*For example, the protocol for transition started with living for a minimum of two years as the gender you desired to transition to, while getting intensive psychotherapy st the same time. Eventually the patient and his or her care team would reach a consensus that either the transition was appropriate, or it was not appropriate, and then they went from there. If the transition was determined to be wrong, or just not yet ready psychologically for the shocks that accompany these kinds of surgeries, it was placed on hold until the patient and their team had come to a consensus of 100%.*
*If you were approved at the end of the two year "pre-treatnebt" phase, you were assigned to a surgical team, and a pharmaceutical team, and your journey began - but **_always_** with the ongoing psychotherapy. If you dumped the shrink, you also dumped your chance to do it. Practitioners used to follow their Oaths to "First, do no harm", and worked very hard to guarantee that they did not perform such a grave and complex treatment as sexual reassignment without being 100% certain by **_everyone_** concerned. Today though, it is judt the opposite, speak up, and six months later you are deep into the process, while the "treatment teams" rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars a year from each trasitioned life. Even if you KNOW you are mishandling a case, it doesn't matter - you got the money, and the patient ha to deal with the consequences of their "requests" for "treatment". The once honorable profession of medicine has fallen to the greed of mythical proportions having instantiated itself in the hospital treatment setting.*
*Medicine has been lost for more than 25 years now, and it shows. Honest practitioners are leaving the practice setting behind, and switching to "more honest work" as one of my classmates at medical school referred to it. I know dozens of physicians who have refused to help their children become physicians. They are so thoroughly disillusioned that the thought of their children following in their footsteps makes them deeply depressed and even more deeply guilty. Allowing their chilren to fall into such an evil endeavor is simply unthinkable today. Instead, the rule is, to quote Henny Youngman (look him up if you don't know the reference!), ""Always get the gelt [money] FIRST!". The great cathedrals of medicine are more and more reflecting the condition of their gods: broken, dirty, disorganized, and repulsive. And the public cheers this on, like a trained animal is trained to sit, or stay - while we allow these once great cathedrals of medicine to slowly crumble in on themselves, waiting for the inevitable dealth of the respected family doctor.*

I am stunned that not one of these "professionals" said anything about diagnosing "gender dysphoria" in a child and then spending at least a year counseling that child to find out if there is a reason why or spending any time helping that child learn to love him or her self. I fear down the road, in the not too distant future, many of these children will grow up to be adults who cannot handle the mistake they made physically transitioning themselves and will harm themselves. This is so tragic. Once again, we harm many in our pursuit to save the few. 😢

Please share this with every parent you know who fears their child has gender identity disorder. Page 455 of the DSM-V states: “rates of persistence of gender dysphoria from childhood into adolescence or adulthood vary. In natal males, persistence has ranged from 2% to 30%. In natal females, persistence has ranged from 12% to 50%.” In other words, between 70% and 98% of gender dysphoric boys and 50-88% of girls will no longer have gender dysphoria when they reach adolescence or adulthood. This is without any special psychological interventions for these children. It presumes, of course, that the child is made to wait before taking irreversible steps.

Yes, but the reason why they got blockers anyway is: The kids with (persistent) gender dysphoria get really severe depressions. The 40% suicide attempt rate is there for a reason, and no therapy or anti depressents don't really help....
But yeah the whole gender dysphoria topic is really difficult and sadly has by far to few scientific studies, because they slept the last 20 years and did nothing....

Porn, homophobia, social clout, trauma, and abuse all factor into trans identification, but I think a rise in people with diagnosed/undiagnosed autism has the largest part to play in what's been going on lately. I can't believe the ignorance of "experts" trying to explain "gender identity" as if it's some sort of actual concept, and yet they ignore the fact that autistic people have extremely black/white thinking, poor sense of body ownership, propensity for sexual paraphilias, poor social skills, and difficulty in empathizing with others. That is a _toxic cocktail_ of motivation for a person to claim to be the opposite sex and demand others recognize them as such.

I live in the U.S., and so I cannot address how teens or young adults feel or are treated in other countries. I can only speak about what is happening here. I remember being a teen. I remember trends coming and going. I remember when we all died our hair pink or purple. I remember when everyone had barbed wire tattoos on their arms; belly button piercings. The problem is that these trends are becoming more and more permanent; and I think the more permanent something is, and the more ramifications it may have long term, the more time should be invested in being absolutely sure it is the right thing. This is not like telling your parents you want to learn violin, and so they buy you a Stradivarius violin, and you decide after 6 months, you are tired of violin. They can resell the violin. You, however, cannot get back organs you chop off or medications you take which may cause a permanent illness, like cancer.
The biggest concern I have with this is how many girls want to be boys. I know one girl who never had any interest in being a boy, and never expressed any concerns with her body until she was almost done with puberty. With TikTok and Instagram video filters that are making women look more and more unrealistically beautiful, many girls feel they cannot possibly compete. This particular girl of whom I am speaking, deep down doesn't really want to be a boy. She just wants to date attractive sexy men. Because she is a rather masculine looking, flat chested girl, and is not pretty enough to get asked out and get any dates, she feels that by becoming a FTM transgender it will solve all of her problems. Instead of people pitying her for being a homely girl, she will be admired for being a trendsetting transgender, and then be considered gay and get to date the really hot homosexual guys who won't date girls. She is looking at it as a way to beat the system. In stead of being an ugly duckling who can't compete with the other girls, and gets pity; she is a courageous nonconformist who will get the hot guys by being gay. (the thing is she isn't really gay, and deep down doesn't feel she is in the wrong body. She is just using a creative way to solve an age old problem: how to get the opposite sex to notice you.) Maybe 40 years ago, she would have gotten breast implants, a nose job, and other plastic surgery to become a prettier girl; now, because it's trendy, she thinks it's easier to just become a boy, because it is fairly common that homosexual men usually dress well, are more handsome and take care of their bodies and work out: so for her, it is win/win.
I think it is a train wreck waiting to happen, and I wonder how many other girls are looking at this situation in the exact same way; especially these rapid onset cases.

If you can answer yes to most or all of these, then you're in a cult.
      Do they oppose critical thinking?
Are you willing to disconnect or estrange yourself from family, friends, and communities who do not agree with your ideology?
Do they penalize people for leaving?
Do they put down other groups and communities that don't agree with them, or label them as a threat or enemy?
Are you told not to question what is taught?
Are you made to feel like a failure if you don't do or say what is expected of you?
Do you feel like you have no connections with anyone outside of that group?
Do you believe you are a victim of oppression or discrimination, and that this group and its ideology is your path to salvation?
Are you fearful of extreme punishment, torment, or persecution in some form or another, if you do not abide by this ideology?
It's ironic how alike Christians and LGBTQ+ people are...
      You're a godless sinner / You're a bigot and a transphobe
Do not question the Bible or Christ or you will not be saved / Do not question my identity or you're a worthless bigot

Your decision to join the church wasn't a mistake. It can't be, because that might mean I made a mistake and I can't accept that. So you're a godless heathen. I will shun you. I will hate you and God will hate you.

Instead of "affirming" that being female is a "torment", these misogynists need to wake up and start telling young women the miraculous uniqueness, efficiency, and beauty of the adult female body -- stop leading young girls to chop off their defining physical features, you sick old men! 🤕

Yes I went on from feeling I might be a boy in childhood and puberty to having two kids that I breastfed too. I really think that these kids do need help for a variety of reasons but gender isn't really one of them, do they not see its a symptom of other, underlying problems? You are very wise and I am glad you went on to be a mum (granny in my case) too! All of us feel strange during puberty and teens and I was an undiagnosed Aspergers kid because they thought it was just boys in the 50s and 60s, it haunts me to think this could have happened to me. When I was young, there were hardly any trans people, I know two from my age group and one person you used to occasionally see around Aberdeen who was very difficult to say what sex they were but that was in the early 60s and I don't think they were trans as we know it, rather a possible hermaphrodite because they had a tall, man's body but had curves where men don't and a very female face. It must have been awful back then. The two people I do know who transitioned successfully were boys to girls and both are still happy with their gender reassignment and have been singe the late 70s. I think the fact that I only know 2 over a 60 year period, where most of my friends were gay men, says something. It isn't 'normal' to change sex like this and, the ones that do successfully, are usually living lives as the new gender long before they have any surgery. I don't think doctors are in any way doing the right thing giving in to patient pressure. I think all these so called psychiatrists and psychologists in this film should be struck off and face criminal charges. Like I said in my comment originally, it's like going in and saying you can't be happy unless you got Fentanyl or something similar and the doctor giving it to you. It's criminal.

I was frightened to go out in case I got abducted, and there was child abuse at home, and I was bullied at school there was no safe haven. The fact that our children are so brainwashed is that they're already going through the biggest transition of their lives, from childhood to adulthood. Both sexes get it equally bad but the experience is subjective. There was a massive spike of anorexia and bulimia in teens in the 80s, further pushed by models in the media that looked like heroin addicts and ambiguous in their gender. It's carried on since then in its various forms and fluctuated today fat appreciation as a backlash but no middle ground for real people therefore no realistic role models.

This comment is a bit of a mess, but I feel it necessary to express my viewpoint. This is all coming from a redpilled teenage girl who previously experienced gender dysphoria due to the woke media. It is portrayed by the left as a cure all for girls experiencing body dysphoria. That is why we are seeing such a huge boom in transmen.
31:00 yes, they are in pain and suffering, but gender dysphoria and body dysphoria can be grown out of. These are CHILDREN, specifically young girls who experience body dysphoria at a higher rate than males due to standards in our society. Cross sex hormones are dangerous! Cancer, arthritis, worsened mental health, blood clots, infertility, etc. this is the rapid medicalization of children for financial gain! This isn’t “care” it’s a CONTRACT. If these kids sign away their life early to medicine, they are constant producers of income. That’s it. Every other mental disorder is treated with therapy or antidepressants/psychotics, but not gender dysphoria. Imagine telling an anorexic person that they are in fact fat and need a tummy tuck, even if they’re skin and bones. It makes no sense.
Men cannot become women, women cannot become men. Gender and sex do have binary markers (female and male, vagina and penis, uterus and testes, low muscle mass and high muscle mass, XX and XY). If sex doesn’t equal gender, than why do male identified females want male biological features (SEX CHARACTERISTICS) and vice versa. Men can wear high heels without identifying as female. Women can have short hair without identifying as male. Just because you break gender norms, doesn’t mean that you are trans. It means that you have a divergent personality. Just 20 years ago this was common knowledge. Tomboys and tomgirls have been erased and medicalized.
Intersex people are an anomaly. In biology, we say that humans have 10 fingers and 10 toes. Some people may have more or less, but it doesn’t change the fact that those are birth defects and shouldn’t be treated as the rule.

Having a sex change does not change the personality or make life easier it makes it harder. I've met 2 people in my life that were born intersex with XXY chromosomes. They were very overweight and stunted both physically and mentally in their teen when they were in their twenties. They were brought up as male, identified as male and a simple course of testosterone injections brought them up to speed, there was a massive spurt of weight loss, muscle density and facial hair. Unfortunately the dose was a little too strong and they started losing head hair. They will be on Testo gel for the rest of their lives and are sterile. These are the people that should be receiving medical attention not plastic surgeons looking for the next vulnerable guinea pig.

Our sex is recorded at birth through doctors observation, we are not assigned anything at birth, it's a rediculous statement.
There is short term Dysphoria is a common phenomenon in pre-pubescent and pubescent children especially girls but those with it are affirmed and started on the drugs and booker into surgery , when the dysphoria dissipates after puberty by then it's too late and they have started going down the route which ends up destroying lives.

    • @tarulinden8295
      @tarulinden8295 Год назад +3

That's what the assigning is, doctors, midwives or such saying so. They don't know for sure by just observing, looks can be deceiving or ambiguous. In most cases it's right. You would be right in that the sex is already there and doesn't appear on command though if that was your meaning.
"What is sex assignment at birth?
In the majority of births, a relative, midwife, nurse or physician inspects the genitalia when the baby is delivered, and sex and gender are assigned, without the expectation of ambiguity. Assignment may also be done prior to birth through prenatal sex discernment. Sex assignment at birth usually aligns with a child's anatomical and biological sex."
See, there's the sex in the chromosomes - that doesn't always match with what ends up as anatomical sex. Then there are the intersex with different chromosome combinations. And you only know the gender for sure when the child grows up and can tell you.

    • @zephsmith3499
      @zephsmith3499 Год назад +16

@@tarulinden8295 Let's break down some of the that.
In an overwhelming majority of cases, biological *sex* is correctly observed at birth. In a very small number of cases (say around 0.04% of births), there is genuine ambiguity, which is also observed and described as intersex. (Any figure approaching 1% deceptively lumps in non-ambiguous disorders of sexual development like a male whose urethra exits other than at the normal place, but whose sex is not in question thereby). In an even smaller fraction of cases, there can be completely hidden conditions which are anomalous in various ways not observed at birth.
That has very little to do with your later statement that you only know the *gender* for sure when the child grows up and can tell you.
If gender is more subjective and consists of feelings rather than bodies, then it cannot be observed at birth. And yes, I agree that it's good to wait for a child to grow up before accepting their self perception as stable and meaningful, because many people have gone through stages of gender dysphoria during childhood before it resolved, and children can become (temporarily) attached to a number of counter-factual ideas (much less subjective assessments).
Unless we *consistently* distinguish between sex and gender, there's no hope of successful communication.
And part of that is not bringing in intersex when the issue is gender rather than sex. Just leave them out. Most intersex people do NOT want their issues mingled in, and do not feel that their actual interests are represented by doing so - they are being used as pawns in a different issue, by people who know and care nothing about them, but just want to use them to make points in a different political context. Just stop; it's not treating people with respect.
One can identify as a gender which is not associated with one's physical sex (eg: a female bodied person could identify with the masculine gender, or as non-binary), without bringing in any irrelevant issues of intersex, which is not involved in the vast majority of trans issues.
A proper statement might be that "objective sex is observed at birth, but a person's subjective gender in a small number of cases may eventually differ from their biological sex", and one might advocate for more understanding and better treatment of those cases where that happens.
There will still be discussion and controversy, as not everybody will agree about the details. But if we are more careful to always distinguish objective sex (and any ambiguities or disagreements about that) from subjective gender (and any ambiguities or disagreements about that), we can at least have some hope of constructive conversation on the latter. If we mingle these two things into a mush, or tactically switch terms back and forth for rhetorical advantage, there is little hope of producing more illumination.

I was in gymnastics until I was 8 when my mom found out I cry in my room before every class because of the leotards. switched to basketball and loved it until I hit puberty and completely disassociated myself from my body as much as I could. When I was about 17 I started getting better, got back to doing sports and basically was over with emotional stage of puberty. When I was 19 I was awake for three nights in a row working on a project because I had responsibilities during the day and that's when memories of sexual assault surfaced. It came up since mostly when I was with a new boyfriend- the shaking, the nausea the dreams of course but as the very least it explained to me my torture of being in my own skin all those years, and I'm grateful for actually having suppressed whatever happened as opposed to being haunted by it all my life. I implore everyone to please watch Jordan Peterson's interview with Chloe Cole, who is a girl who transitioned to a boy and back again. It is such a heartbreaking story 💔 😢 . This is all about money making for pharmaceuticals and the medical industry 😠, I hope they sue them into obliteration!!

Chloe is a really amazing young woman. I haven’t see that interview but saw her speaking on a podcast and mentioning her experience with Jordan Peterson. She said he was inspiring and she learned a lot from him.

Some people think Chloe is a natal boy. There is something strange about that person. Not sure what the motivation could be for faking detransing.

I think back to middle and high school. The friends that I knew and how we changed and all that we went through. The moods and personalities that would alter year to year. I saw shy friends come out of their shells. I saw happy adolescents go through phases of dark brooding. I saw some have heterosexual relationships who would, as adults, declare themselves to be homosexual. I saw pudgy bodies slim and skinny gawkiness fill out and acquire steady confidence. A couple of friends who seemed to hit a despairing and seemingly inexplicable depression in high school, but who went on to be what at least seems to be happy and successful adults. I remember the misery at the loss or betrayal of a friend, and the feeling that no one likes you. The "ugly duckling" syndrome. Painful self consciousness. The hunger to be accepted and to belong. The feeling of being the butt of someone's joke, or the paranoia at hearing someone laugh and fearing that it must be about you. I think about the poor teens in the video and how vulnerable they are, at the mercy of their hormones and just that crazy time of growth and adjustment, dealing with family life and school pressures and peers, and I think it's terrible that they are even given the responsibility of making such a decision as to chemically castrate or sterilize themselves and undergo irreversible changes. If you asked any of my friends or me if we are the same people that we were in middle and high school, I believe that we all would answer with an emphatic "NO". If you were to ask if we were, any of us, ready at that time to make any sort of permanent life decision, the answer would be the same.

It's a permanent life decision either way, so that point is moot.

(Im a bioligical woman) I never felt happy about my body growing up. I felt like I need to fix everything. I wanted to have all kinds of plastic surgeries. Now I'm in my 30s and I couldn't be happier about the fact that I never did any of them. I love myself the way I am, I cant imagine how people who feel they need to change so strongly they go through with it especially so young. For some it works, but for those who grow up and have to deal with all the consequences of hormons changes and surgeries especially when they chose to do the wrong thing must me crushing. I feel bad for those people. I can only hope that instead telling people they need to change themselves we focus more on making people feel good about themselves in their own body they got.

But, what about all the years of pressure you put on your loved ones “needing” the surgery? That’s the problem. Young people have been given such a large voice on this topic, and if you dare to disagree in the slightest, one is immediately attacked as transphobic. That’s the part that needs to be discussed. The teenager is protected by militant transgender supporters who don’t allow for any dialogue to “wait” or to even ask the question are you sure. Please talk about why you didn’t get surgery, and who stopped you?
It’s a powerful force if any voice who asks for clarification is shouted down, especially if it’s with a 14 year old person who thinks they need surgery are protected by the trans community. The 14 year old becomes unreachable.
Let’s talk more about that, what happens when the 14 year old is told no, you have to wait.

@@francisaugistino701 Do you understand that detransitioners-because-of-regret make up less than 1% of those who have transitioned and that the trauma they go through is no worse than the trauma trans people must live with if they are denied the right to transition?
As awful as life is for the detrans community, the truth is, they are very few in number and they should not be used as a means to deny health care to trans people. The vast majority of trans people are happy to transition and do not have any regrets at all

@@francisaugistino701 What a bunch of obvious lies... Well, obvious to anyone who's actually TRANS... Every trans person I know in person to the thousands online have to go through rigorous fighting and yelling for YEARS simply for coming out as trans at all. Cisgender parents are generally shallow and easily frightened by difference, they get scared by the most trivial things and make unrealistic, unrelated assumptions about how we think, feel, and understand ourselves and the place we need to be in this world... Almost losing your entire family simply because you want to transition is the most common experience of trans individuals everywhere, IN REALITY... Yet here you are, believing the manipulative words of political pundits online who are PAID to sew doubt, confusion, and misunderstanding in the minds of the ignorant majority who do NOT intimately understand what trans people go through to live. Into YOU.
Detrans people and trans people have vastly different experiences, understanding one another is the key to developing a more efficient way to help everyone, and to ensure confused cisgender people don't make mistakes. I wouldn't trade my body for anything in the world, I am finally at peace with myself, with my transsexual body and mind, I would not be the intelligent, compassionate, curious, ambitious, passionate, eccentric and charismatic person that I am today without medical and social transition which allowed me to finally be born. These treatments genuinely saved my life from a path of desperate suicidal and homicidal ideation, addiction, chronic depression, etc., etc., etc. Now I can actually worry about normal shit like school and bills and getting treated for ADHD, rather than being so consumed and crippled by gender dysphoria and desperately chasing feelings of gender euphoria... Now, I simply LIVE in gender euphoria (I just feel at peace, something I had never known prior to transition). Majority of trans people who pursue gender affirming care have all aspects of their quality of life heightened enormously. The very few (0.5%) of detrans people who regret transition because they were never trans, are not the same as actual trans people. Know the difference, respect all paths that lead to peace and dying in a life that was at least worth living.

Same with me, wished many times I had been born a man, so much easier maintenance, accepted while not having to do all the hair makeup nails, epilation, and dealing with periods and hormones. Then hated my looks, wanted all kinda of plastic surgery also to look more feminine, it all normalised when I became a mother.
