I run a similar build, with all the removal the deck really feels like Luffy popping caps jet pistol after jet pistol (removal, removal, removal). Gordon, deuce, otama, jet, gordon, vista…
This video has inspired me to drop strawbeard and play luffy thank you for this video! Have you swapped out brook yet with sanji? How has it been running for you if so? Are you still only running 3 zoro?
Thanks man, LOVE the positive feedback!! I ended up dropping the brook & a Zoro & adding 2 Sanji. I’ve played in 4 locals since then & I’ve won every game I’ve played except for 2 and both were to Doffy which is the worst matchup this deck has so it’s performed insanely well. My friend also went to the Illinois regional last week and made top 32 with a 7-2 record and both his losses were also to Doffy. It runs big vanillas like Kingdew & Little Oars Jr plus radical beams so I’m going to give his list a try & get it posted on here so there’s some variety.
I would otama or gordon the borsalino and just swing so his 6k is basically 4k and then he isnt going to drop that many cards to save it and then borsalino is gone
@@MonkeyDLuffy-lx1yc That’s insane then! In OP01 it took me like a solid 2 months to finally realize I could Otama blockers to ignore them with 9c Shanks and I only realized because I saw someone do it at Treasure Cup lmao. You won’t be a rookie for much longer at this rate!

Crazy coincidence, not even 3 hours ago I recorded a video explaining how to play every meta matchup, whether to take first or second, & what to mulligan for. It should be up Sunday, stay tuned!
Brook definitely isn't a necessity, he was just the 2k of choice at the time. I've since replaced him and a Zoro with the 2 copies of the Sanji 2k instead since he's a low cost efficient body that can go 7k which is the magic number against a leader since it requires them to discard 2 cards to counter of it. Ivankov Can't answer him without putting him back in the hand and he's a 2k so you don't care if they do. I'd avoid putting it on the board in green and black match-ups however. - Chris
@@cameron1958 I see the taking life as a good thing, it gives you another resource to play with against decks that try to deny attacking your leader to give you cards. The fact it only costs 2 is also really convenient since it gives you flexibility with your don usage. -Chris
@@SmallHatCrew thanks for Your opinion. Im very new to the game I’ve only gone to tournaments twice now and im working on zoro rush and the only thing im Missing for the deck is Brook 2k and was just curious as of why you ran just 1. This does help a lot, thank you
@@trevanwinters Don't mention it! Yeah, red has slowly been shifting away from Zoro, white beard doesn't play him, R/G law plays 2 max, Luffy's slowly dropping him. If there was ever a time to not have Zoro's, the best time would be now haha.
Lmao I feel that, and honestly nah, I'd replace him with the structure deck Zoro that's 7k for 1 don on your turn and 6k on the opponent's turn. I've already cut Zoro down to 2 personally and I see him eventually being cut entirely since OP02 Luffy is less aggro and more mid-range/control. My most recent list is this but -1 Zoro -1 Brook +2 Sanji 2k Counter - Chris
Only leader still playing 1c blockers in OP02 is Law unfortunately since blockers just die to Vista and Koby, Yamato, etc. Them dying for free is turning them into starting the game with a 4 card hand basically.

nice deck! just wondering what is that plant thing moving at 6:47 ? lol
Thanks! Also, our channel mascot (Kitty Smalls) ripped a branch off of the bamboo plant and was carrying it around the room lmao

Exactly! Starting your turn with them having 5 characters on board and watching them only have 2 or 1 by the end of your turn feels so rewarding haha

Can you actually use Gordons effect after attacking with him? I thought effects required resting the character?
Yes you can, effects only rest if the card specifies you rest them!
@@SmallHatCrew just did this strategy on sim. Gonna have to use it at locals I don't think they know it works this well.
Why only 1 Brook? Why are you not too big on it? Is in not necessary for red or just this deck specifically?

If I dont have enough white beards can I improvise with shanks?
They serve 2 very different purposes. I’d probably just add radical beams or Ben Beckmans instead.
Would you play Rush Sanji instead of Zoro for a more budget friendly list? I really can't seem to find 80$ laying around for that fucking card 😂
