The front bumpers are the same as on UKDM cars as they are all built in the UK, hence the UK badge fitted to the JDM cars
I had one of these back in 2005. Had it a month before fitting a jrsc kit and K-pro amongst other mods. Was a very rare car back then. Sold it and bought a dc5 but always preferred the jdm civic. I’d still buy one now.
*Correction: engine was made in Japan, car was made in the UK, Swindon, Honda factory.

Going from owning a uk ep3 to a dc5 you can tell just how good these cars are with an LSD! So much fun to drive.

100%. I fitted a Quaife diff to my UK EP3 and it transformed the car. That’s how it should have come from the factory

Tbf buying my ep3 as a side car to have a bit of fun with was the best thing I’ve bought in a while, it’s not a Jdm one though, but they are good fun for all the money you pay for one. ✌🏽 this one looks clean as
My brother owned this before the new owner took it away had it from standard. Small details he missed. The H badges are diffrent as the original 1s were getting very worn out. the fly eye was on due to the headlights having slight colour pigmintation in 1. And the fly eye covered that as the jdm hid headlights were a nightmare to get hold off. The exhaust was custom made to go under the rear beam to get more angle. Only 1 iv seen with that set up. The fogs had the oil slik tint on them, as one of the fogs were cracked and then replaced with the non tinted 1s.the carbon centre consale was factory fitted with the jdms. And he should have shown under the bonnet as was very clean with carbon tegiwa induction and colour coded earth kit and was just very clean inside and out.
Hes chuffed to see the car still on the road and still looking so well. Looks like the only changes that have been done is the wheels. Really smart moter
I know the owner of this. It's a bloody nice car and he's had a few problems with it making it unroad worthy but it's now a beast and I see why he couldn't life without it. Nicely done Jack

I took out an fn2 at the same time as an ep3 premier edition. I bought the ep3. So much more communicative and just more involving wish I never sold it. But haven't had a car for 6 years. Few fast bikes since and a chaser jzx100 on the way
@@chappy2121 that's fair enough I used to have a ep3 years ago and while they prob are a bit better to drive I'm not realistically ragging the shit out my car all the time plus have kids and do alot of motorway so just nice to have the engine but a few extra luxuries as well. I agree for pure driving the ep3 is better but I find the FN2 to be more useful allround👍
Well done, you did the car justice. I once heard of a Honda employee, building the car, buying it, then waiting for it to go to Japan and then come back for him to SVA and put on the road here, he waited months to drive it. Sounds like it was worth it.

Not just the engine the JDM market EP3 was also built in Swindon in the UK.
I own one just for track days, and it has many flaws. Front suspension geometry sucks. Caster bushings and roll center adjuster are mandatory at front.
And 235/40r17 and shorter final drive (i have 5.33) and a LSD are pretty much mandatory as well
With this u will have a great sports car, no turbo but very fun to drive
ek9 thats all ill say.
But the Ep3 Jdm VERISON was built in swindon plant then sent back to japan honda for them to tincker abit more

The mirrors are from the jdm Honda access catalogue along with the carbon effect stereo surround and iridium lower foglights. I know the owner of this car and since his ownership he’s really pampered it.
Also engines are not shipped from UK to japan! All cars were built here in UK with only jdm engines shipped then fitted before shipped back to japan. Please do your homework before reviewing a car 😂

DS3 same engine k20a with different cams. Both forged bottom end.
I really like these ep's but just cant seem to be able drive one big let down on honda the should of done reach adjustment on the steering wheel get seat perfect wheel to far away

Josh De'Ath my dad used to own one of those but not Type R. I remember the placement of the shifter and I always was unable to figure y its there but now it makes sense lmao thanks dudes

@Motor City Cobra nice man, must be decent if you kept it for 10 years 👌 yea the vxr are only good for rolling starts and straight lines lol and not very comfortable to sit in imo, but I do love them. I nearly brought a type r going back a few years, but it wasnt very tidy.
I had a vxr mapped to 280 bhp was a great car, remus exhaust too sounded amazin 👌

Fat Splat also if you have ever watched best motoring the ep3 have proven to faster than the dc5 on a number of occasions. I also don’t get into the whole ek9 is the best because it really isn’t.

@@gumpy4960 your one RUclips video your referring too unfortunately doesn't make many multiple years of motorsport history redundant sorry, the DC5 historically has always been quicker, as the dc2 also.
BIAWolf I’m not referring to one video, there are a good few, the dc2 was never faster than either the dc5 nor the ep3, and the dc5 and ep3 where nearly always equal. The ek9 was always the slowest.

Brilliant video Jamie and yep it’s probably close to the ultimate civic type R. I almost brought a genuine JDM ep3 some years back and wish I did, amazing how a few small little things equate to so much and OMFG I’m the same pre face lifted cars look soooooooooooooooooooooooo much better and yep for all the same reasons you said :-)
The extra HP Honda quote for JDM cars is mainly down to higher octane fuel in Japan.
Repulse187 it’s not. Have dyno’ed many stock ukdm ep3’s at around 200hp.
Also dyno’ed a stock JDM EP3. Made 224hp. All on uk fuel obviously

By the looks of it, the one on the video hasnt got the thrid brake light installed either.

The answer is no. I dislike ALL type Rs, but the newest gen is clearly the best one ever made. This grose looking fart can could have 50 grand of mods dumped into it and a 2019 would destroy it.

@@covingtonrace1 I've had 3 of them in the space of 2 years mate. I had a 03 plate Milano red ep3 in 2018 and I sold it as the gearbox was on it's way out, then in February this year I got a mint cosmic grey 54 plate which I got offered £1000 more than what I payed for it so I sold that for profit and a week after I sold that I bought a nighthawk black on a 04 plate which I only bought to sell for profit. The only one I properly miss is the cosmic grey and I regret selling it as it was honestly immaculate and brilliant all round car and I had some serious fun it in :-)

It's a race car with an endurance racing engine. It was designed to race, not please your ears. These cars are properly dangerous 😁 They don't work unless you thrash the bollocks off them meaning you go everywhere flat out. You'll soon become a hooligan in one of these. If you use the engine properly at least.
